Subject: Strange Request: Red Sox Posted by: angryCHAIR - [29955918] Sat, Dec 08, 2007, 08:58 I have a buddy at work that loves to rib me about Jeter and his many poses for Avon---though I agree it is a bit of a sellout on his part. I realize there are a lot of Yankee haters out there, but I need some GURUPIE help! Does anyone know of any pics of any BoSox players posing for perfumes, jeans, etc that I can get him back with? Just a little heads up, filthy. Aunt Jemima is not an image African Americans remember fondly. I remember years ago, I don't remember where, but a high school track coach was giving out end of the year silly awards to his team. The school was predominately white, with one black kid who wore a bandanna at practice. The coach gave him the "Aunt Jemima" award with no malice. He kid was upset, but didn't say anything, but when his parents learned, they were mad. He coach was scolded and he apologized, etc... I would not be surprised if a few people spout off after this post using such tired retorts as "politically correct" and "special privileges" or some such gibberish. I'm just saying just like you don't offer to shake an Arab with your left hand, let's leave Aunt Jemima in the dustbin of history. | ||||||
