Figured I'd start a thread on this years RIBC administration (even though I will likely opt out unless a league needs someone to fill it out). Last year filthy and Nerfherders were the commissioners of the majors and AAA respectively. So time to see who will be playing in 2024, what league they will be in, and what platform will host the league, and the draft. I can relay emails from last year's yahoo league to the commishes if any are lacking. Will make an attempt to email the ones from last year's yahoo that have yet to check in. Season starts a bit earlier this year. Drafting by start of march would be ideal. About 3 weeks still for organizing. 22 in, 2 only yahoo, 2 on the fence. 0 interest to commish. Suggestions on RIBC/AAA cutoff? Splitting up to decide platforms should probably be one of the first steps. Discuss strategies to spread the various commish duties around the leagues if nobody wants to take over perhaps? | ||||||

Last year we did a 10/6 split for RIBC (technically, 9/7 because there was a tie for 6th). I would suggest keeping that consistent. It looks like we are missing three from that prospective RIBC list: Da Bomb, ywc, and kdl212, who was a fill in for loki. | ||||||

Weekend should have some time to take a look if we're still waiting. 10/6 split proposed. Since AAA got 7 last year and 1 from AAA ineligible, I'd think 10/7 would make most sense. Then there's 2 that may not play if ESPN is preferred? May have to go to 11th from RIBC then 12th or 8th from AAA as next in line if either of those managers aren't willing to risk being outvoted to end up at ESPN. Just some thoughts as I weigh whether I'll have enough time during draft season to participate. Any other noobs or returnees lurking? I'd suggest the RIBC commish should get to decide how platform is decided and where the cutoff lies. 14 seem to be obviously in. The fringe for next 2 openings seems to be: GO (qualified but yahoo only); Uptown (11th RIBC)/ DaveR (7th AAA but yahoo only); Bean (12th RIBC)/ Seattle Zen (8th AAA); Should be able to qualify 2 from that list. Are the yahoo guys willing to gamble that they might end up playing ESPN? Would Bean still be able/willing to commish AAA if qualifying to move up? Does nerfherders want to vote on platform or choose their personal preference as part of the reward for stepping up to commish?? Just some more thinking out loud while we wait! | ||||||

Think the glitch occurred when I posted before. Hope we're back to normal now. Anyway, if I am somehow assigned to RIBC majors, I can just take a team in AAA too, and commish AAA. I am guessing that we are a bit short to fill AAA with 16, so anyone who is assigned to the major league should be welcome to have a second team in AAA up to 16 total teams. If we don't get 16, we can just play with however many we do have. | ||||||

With the season this year starting on March 20 we obviously can’t do that again. I’m in favor of opening the draft on March 3rd or 4th so we can be certain to have completed it by the 19th. | ||||||

Right now I have 11 of the 12 assigned to AAA in the Yahoo League. I do not know how to contact LarryF, any help is appreciated. Bottom line is I have 5 vacant slots in the AAA, don't know what the plans of filthyrich or JeffG are with regards to playing, and nobody assigned to the RIBC major league has inquired about having a AAA team. We're gonna play, no matter how many more sign up now, but the deadline to join us is 29 FEB.
