My wife and her best friend are going to be in New York for the July 23rd game(Wed. 1:05) and wants to see a game before the stadium is gone. I'm just wondering if anybody here can help with the best places to sit, and also the best way to get tickets. We checked Stub Hub, but just wondering if anybody here knew another, better way to get them. Also, if we end up paying Stub Hub prices, she should at least sit in a good place to enjoy the game.
TIA, D |

I take back what I said about the Stub hub prices, they really are not that elevated, compared to the original price of the tickets.
I was comparing them to my season tickets for the Angels, which I sell on Stub hub for $30, which would be equivalent to section 606, row b.

We bought Yankees tickets off Ebay last year and they were pretty much face value.

I'm not a fan of the bleachers, but that's about it. Go on the tour.

We sat in the upper deck on the third base line and it was great. We did the tour, a definite must. Also don't buy a hat until you get near the stadium, there are tons of outdoor vendors selling hats for cheap, and negotiable.
We took the subway, it was quick and cheap, and very safe.

thanks for the replies...
BH, my wife needs a section where she can have a couple beers so the bleachers are definitely out...
Barilko, the upper deck was good huh? I'll tell her. Were you in the Tier Reserved or Tier Boxes? They aren't Yankee fans so I doubt they'll buy a hat. They're pretty much going for the nostalgia of it all. I'm so jealous. Hopefully they'll keep fenway open until I get a chance to get out there.

There really is not a bad seat to see a game in Yankee Stadium. I would suggest you grab a couple of the tier reserved seats from Stub Hub. The tier goes up to row X, but I see alot of options in rows C - H that would be a good buy and give you a nice vantage point without being too much of nose bleeds. Some of the tier sections are alcohol free, you may want to check the Yankee site and verify which sections they are. (Still I think you can buy a beer and take it back to the section, just no beer vendors allowed in those sections).
Summer Day games with all the area camps sell out quick. Back before the Yankees drew 4M a season, the summer day games were still always the hardest tickets to come by, which is why the Yankees have more weekday day games on the schedule than any other MLB team (except the Cubs).

Thanks for the info JeffG, especially about the alcohol rules...
She's not a lush or anything(Her friend is close, LOL) but she does enjoy a good cold beer at a game...
I was looking at section 606 row F, thinking $69 is a pretty fair price...
