When you guys watch on Thursday, check out Roderick Strong, who is in this week's Kurt Angle Challenge.

Roderick is one of my closest friends in the business, and even though he was squashed, it makes me happy for him to get even a few seconds on TV....

From PWScoops today:
Ring of Honor regular Roderick Strong was said to have really impressed management at the SmackDown! tapings during the Kurt Angle challenge. The crowd was also said to have been into Roderick's work during the actual match.
Cool. Tell your boy congratulations on the notoriety. Looking foward to watching him tonight.

i talked to Roderick last night. man, that kid is beaming.

like a lot of the younger generation wrestlers (Roderick is 21, but has been wrestling as a pro for about 5 or 6 years, and actually had his first "match" when he was about 8 - against Harry Smith - Davey Boy's son), Roderick is a mark at heart.

he told me that one of his biggest thrills was being backstage afterwards and The Undertaker walking up to him and saying "You did good, kid."

i haven't watched smackdown in eons. i'll be recording it tonight.

Guess I need to watch it tonite also.

What a pump up.

Glad he did good and the wrestlers are always the first to really spot the good ones.

he got that one slap in, got the flash pin, and showed he could take a beating.

he got a pop from the crowd, and even though it was the cheap hometown thing, that's harder to pull off if you're a relative unknown.

he's got work to do, but i though he looked good out there. and i could tell he was having a blast, because sometimes he has a tough time keeping a straight face when he's working. when Angle was chasing him, Roderick was loving it.

ok. i'm done being a b!tch. :o)

He sold very well----which added to Angle's heat. Good for all involved.

I'd say he's one of the more impressive Kurt Angle challengers I've seen. Heh, I'd even say most impressive, but that might be the suggestive reasoning in me. But he was obviously good, and one of those guys that makes you wonder why Prince Albert was always around.

I'll see Roderick tomorrow, and let him know that people who had no idea he existed thought he looked good.

i do think that his TV performance will probably mean he'll be extremely light on his beer intake after the matches saturday night, because he is definitely a student of the game.

he'll realize that while he can stand eye-to-eye with Angle, on TV, Angle looked so much bigger because he's much much thicker...

based on what i'm hearing, he has really gotten high up on the WWE's radar, and they're going to be keeping a serious eye on him, and it wouldn't stun me to see him with a developmental deal within 12 months, as long as folks like Johnny Ace have some power backstage.

He really did sell well.
And agree the chase was funny.
Nice slap.

Tell him we said to keep charging.
