0 Subject: WWE Rumors...

Posted by: Bond,JamesBond@wk.

Thought we could keep track of the latest WWE rumors in one separate place.

I'll begin:
The rumor(s) I've heard for the past few months leading up to Wrestlemania was that RKO was going to take the title from HHH. However, it seems that Batista has now been primed to become the new Heavyweight Champion.

Also heard that with Lita being severely hurt, the choice was to have Trish become "injured" as well for a lengthy period of time. Looks as if the two remaining women, Molly Holly & Victoria, will not see any action(!) for an undetermined amount of time either.

Wasn't the Women's division pretty decent at one time? Getting rid of Jazz and Gail Kim was an awful mistake and now it looks as if the whole division is set up for extinction. Tell me it ain't so!

Other Wrestlemania rumors are the returns of Austin, Rock, Foley and possibly Hogan. Austin and Foley are sure things; the other two are not.

i haven't heard that about Trish at all. Tht would really surprise me. Vince is all about T&A now so I doubt that's the case.

Other things I have read:

The Shane's aren't coming to WWE. (Glad I got outwaivered)

1. Batista/Orton - what happened here is that the WWE pushed Orton down the people's throats a bit too fast, ala what happened to the Rock when he first hit the scene.

instead of letting things grow organically for Orton, they forced it. Batista, on the other hand, seemed to benefit from that, and so far, the Fed is playing it right.

2. The Shane's are probably still WWE-bound. in fact, the fact that Mike Shane actually owns the trademark on his name is causing problems for TNA wrestler (and legit HBK cousin) Michael Shane, who now may have to start wrestling under a new name.

3. Bret Hart? i haven't heard this one. last thing i heard, he was in no shape to work. his stroke a couple of years ago did a number on him, and he still is dealing with some paralysis.

I see Bret Hart about twice to 3 times a month...and he isn't going to be wrestling anytime soon.

- WWE is hopeful Mark Henry can be getting back in action in two months. He recently tore his quad in OVW.

- Carlito Caribbean Cool is headed back to Puerto Rico on 3/26 to work the WWC show at the Juan Loubriel Stadium in Bayamon. He is also scheduled to work the 3/27 show.

- The current plan is for the Shane Twins to debut on “Raw” after Wrestlemania.

sure glad I DIDN'T get outwaivered... :)

seems like the time between WM21 and Summerslam is really short and unbalanced... have we ever considered trying to make our seasons more balanced? its about 4 and 8 month seasons right now which doesn't make much sense to me.. trying to envision in my head 2 "Majors" that are 6 months or so apart... any ideas?

The PPV calendar lists:

Wrestlemania 21 - 04/03/2005
Backlash - 05/01/2005
ECW One Night Stand - 06/12/2005
Vengeance - 06/26/2005
The Great American Bash - 07/24/2005
Summerslam - 08/21/2005
Unforgiven - 09/18/2005
No Mercy - 10/09/2005
Taboo Tuesday - 11/01/2005
Survivor Series - 11/27/2005
Armagedon - 12/18/2005
New Years Revolution - 01/08/2006
Royal Rumble - 01/29/2006
No Way Out - 02/19/2006

Gotta agree GO. I'd have to say we end this particular season as already agreed - i.e. not changing the rules mid-season....but I can't see a huge issue with changing the dates for the next season now before we draft, etc.

I asked that same question last year. I think WM and Survivor Series should be the seasons.

WM and Survivor Series wouldn't solve the problem, or am I missing something? it would still be 4 and 8 month seasons, correct?

How about Summerslam and Royal Rumble?
That would be 1st PPV of the year and mid-summer... Summerslam is not quite 7 months after the Rumble. Seeing those "final four" in the Rumble is a great indicator of who they are pushing the next year and would be a sweet time to draft...

Would also be awesome because isn't winning the Rumble the biggest guaranteed point scoring opportunity? (someone WILL win those points)-- (vs. a title change which may or may not occur)... I would love to see the top few leaders be close going into the Rumble and the winner of that deciding everything.

But at least for this upcoming season that doesn't fix the problem either, as our next season would be WM to SS before going with your idea.

Is the idea to "end" the season with a 'biggie'? Or does it really matter? From a 'season ending' scenario, I like ending one of the seasons with WrestleMania because it IS the grand-daddy of them all.....but if the next season ends on whatver PPV is in October, (No Mercy in this case) I don't see a big deal.

its also important to make sure that SD and Raw have the same # of PPVs each season if possible. That would keep things balanced.

No time to look into this now but perhaps we might want to consider offseasons of one or more months at points during the year to seperate the seasons - if doing so makes it easier to keep them balanced.

That's a good point MITH and would also allow ample keeper/draft time.

No time to look into this now but perhaps we might want to consider offseasons of one or more months at points during the year to seperate the seasons - if doing so makes it easier to keep them balanced.

beginning with WM, there are 13 PPVs on the calender next year. 4 Raw, 4 SD, 4 Both, and 1 TBD.

the TBD is for the ECW PPV, and i think we need to consider throwing the results out for this event.

one thing that makes things challenging for a season split is the fact that the first SD PPV after WM doesn't happen until July 24 - nearly 4 months after WM. the second SD PPV doesn't happen until October 9, two and a half months after the previous.

there are TWO Raw PPVs before the first SD PPV.

i'm working on a fairly radical suggestion, but i think it's something that might be best for the league. i'll probably have it done this evening...

How bad would the concept of a 12 month season go over? I know it might drag for those of us at the bottom but it would eliminate any problems as far as PPVs.

I don't think I like that idea, Farn. As you said it drags the season out, and we lose the excitement of new drafting and whatnot. I've been very blase' about this season for over a month, so what would a whole year be like?

I'm sure we can get it reasonably close, and if one brand has one extra PPV, then it's up to us to incorporate that into our strategy.....but I guess we'll see what wrestling officionados who know better than I have in mind.

i definitely don't want a 12 month season. it's bad enough going this long being at the bottom.

anyway, i'm going to put my suggestion in a new thread.

I also think there is no way to play a 12 month season if teams are folding their teams in order to get a number 1 pick.

Thought we'd expand this to injury information and mini-comebacks of sorts.

'Taker is supposedly working with a bad hip which may cause him to miss significant time (insert joke here) LOL

Hogan will be returning to Raw on Monday. Anybody know if this will involve him in future dates as well?

Supposedly, Piper has signed with WWE for 5 years. What in the world will WWE do with him for half a decade? Sheesh. With him wearing his kilt full-time, I suppose he could enter the next Diva contest. ;)

Is tomorrow's news that Orton will miss 3 months for shoulder surgery?

blue hen....I thought the RNN reports were fantastic. But it does seems that Orton is a little injury-proned isn't he? Certainly, by the time he returns, people will have forgotton his RKO on Stacy and accept him with open arms.

hard time? I was being sarcastic.

The guys you listed are already on those shows. They joined those shows years ago.

Now if you want to report it accurately, Angle is reported to be heading to Raw and Michaels to Smackdown. (That's the complete opposite of what you said.)

Have you guys ever checked out www.benmaller.com? It pertains strictly to rumors in baseball, basketball and football along with some non-related items.

Is there any good wrestling sites that deal with strictly rumors and innuendos? Not just WWE but all the independent leagues too.

not unless TNA releases him from his contract. Hardy is still under contract to them.

the WWE is using language to make you think it's him, but, again, he is still under contract to TNA.
