ok - so i've been pimping their product for eons.

all you New Yorkers, let's make a go of it.

it's tentatively scheduled for May 21 (although i think we'll see it moved to May 14), at the 168th Armory (www.trackhall.com)...

come on out folks, it'll be a good ol' rasslin' time, and since there's a reasonable chance i'll be involved in helping to promote the event, make me look good.

damnit. :o)

show just got moved to May 7. my guess is because Mick Foley was booked elsewhere on May 21, and they wanted him for this show.

tickets are on sale NOW:

scroll down to the 5/7 NYC date.

i've heard that first row is already nearly gone.

I am going to the WWE house show at MSG on Feb 25 if anyone is interested in getting tix for that too. Would be a fun group outing.

GO -- I just had LASIK last month, and two days should be enough time for you to heal sufficiently to still attend the show. I was driving the next day. You're not sore....true your vision isn't 100% yet, but if you're in the front row, you don't need 20/20 yet!!! lol

Are you getting the 'custom' or 'wavefront' LASIK??

man, oh man, there's gonna be a riot in NYC tomorrow...

ROH got four segments on the WB news this morning - that's major press. but mostly importantly, local bad boy Low Ki, suspended several months ago for choking a referee out of wrestling and delivering a stiff kick to the face of Jay Briscoe that has kept him out of wrestling for seven months now, showed up and threatened some major Manhattan Mayhem at tomorrow's Ring of Honor show.

from the ROH website...

Ring Of Honor had the best mainstream publicity in company history on Friday morning when several live and taped segments were shown on New York City's WB Network morning show. Low Ki of The Rottweilers took the opportunity of live TV to crash the scene.

The first live segment had ROH World Champion Austin Aries and Azrieal sparring. Ki, who was not scheduled nor invited, hit the ring and told Aries that he was on his turf now. Ki slapped the World Champion. Aries then took down Ki and the two brawled until they were pulled apart. The host quickly cut to the studio.

Ki's actions are beyond deplorable as he ruined ROH's media blitz of NYC. The station and host were both very upset and almost canceled the rest of the ROH segments on the show.

While Ki was being pulled away off camera he yelled to ROH Owner Cary Silkin that this would be nothing compared to what The Rottweilers would do this Saturday (May 7th) at the New Yorker Hotel in Midtown Manhattan. Check ROHwrestling.com for info on this event.

Re: LASIK

It's so easy. The only 'tough' part is when they cut the flap of tissue that covers the cornea. The laser-ing itself is completely painless and you really don't notice it....I just kind of heard some static and 15 seconds later that part is done.

It's been the best thing I've ever done.

good to meet Blue Hen and Great One at the show last night. woulda been funny if we ended up sitting together accidently, since we were in the same row...

off the charts. i'm pretty sure it was their first ROH show, and i'm pretty sure they'll come back to more.

it was just an amazing mix of solid technical wrestling, brutal strikes, and one helluva Crimson Mask on the part of CM Punk in the Dog Collar match.

anyone of you that really likes wrestling, if ROH comes to your area, you should try and go...

Yeah it was a great show, great energy... good to meet some of you. Lets get some of those pictures up Tree when they come out.
I think we can get a couple more of these guys to go. Maybe that show in New Haven they mentioned where Matt Hardy debuts too.

You also forgot to mention James"Jamie Noble"Gibson was there last night and had a good match and even made a save with his beer cooler. We also saw him standing up in the rafters watching and he was drinking Busch Lite out of a can... (I guess the best characters really are extensions of your real personality).

Blue Hen and I walked right by Paul London on the way out too which was kind of neat.

They must have rearranged the set up when they changed venues. We'd have been right near each other.

Tree is right - this is a great experience for any wrestling fan. Some notes:

- The absolute worst thing was how the fans were cheering for both wrestlers in just about every match. Seemed like ROH did a terrible job of defining heels and faces. Especially when the fans would work both names into a chant.

- CM Punk's theme music is fantastic. I think that alone would make him survive in WWE. It's a repetitive percussion that the fans were repeating even when it wasn't playing.

- There were two fights (right near Tree, actually). I'm not sure how you get into a fight at an event like that. It's like getting into a fight at a wedding.

- Jamie Noble was the only guy I knew that wrestled. But I did see Paul London in the hallway afterwards.

- Neither Great One or I had Giacomo in the Kentucky Derby.

Well, that increases the gurupies I've met by two. Not bad.

ROH does a fine job of defining heels and faces. the problem is that ROH fans cheer who they want (which annoys me) - and root for someone that is doing a good job, or for other odd reasons.

a couple good examples are the Rottweilers and GeNext. The Rottweilers (Homicide, Low Ki, and new member Steve "Monsta" Mack) are all from Brooklyn (Rickey Reyes, who also wrestles as the masked Black Tiger is a member as well, but from Cuba), and hence, even though they were serious heels, they get cheers in NYC. everywhere i've seen ROH, they get booed.

GeNext (Austin Aries, Roderick Strong, and Jack Evans), are also heels that are cheered - i call it Stone Cold Syndrome - because they're cocky, arrogant, and they can get the job done in the ring. all three guys are heels through and through in their mannerisms and actions, but they're so damned good, and so smart assey, the people love them.

Roderick - who actually gave Kurt Angle a run for his money in the Kurt Angle challenge, and is a friend of mine - is the one who sells the heeldom the best. if you try and pat him on the shoulder, or encourage him as he walk pasts, he smirks or sloughs it off, or gets in your face and yells at you. he doesn't soak in the cheers.

Punk's song is by the band AFI, and is the best ring entrance in all of wrestling, in my opinion.

ummm..i guess that's it?

now I know where I knew that damn song was from!... Punk definitely has "the look" to be one of the top guys anywhere, what was the reason those clowns behind us were booing him?

some people don't like Punk for a variety of reasons. they don't like him because they think he's a lazy worker (which boggles my mind, as he had TWO 60-minute draws in ROH last year), or they think he's the "booker's pet" (think Triple H), because he runs ROH's wrestling school...

Punk's one of the nicer guys i talk to. his "aura" had me scared to even approach him for nearly a year, but once day we started talking about Joe Strummer and Lars Fredickson and other music, and it was all good from there.

this picture, from last night's show, speaks volumes about his dedication, to me. it's one of the greatest "Crimson masks" ever...

by the way, i may very well die this weekend when i hit Dayton and Chicago for ROH.

last time in Dayton, while i was sleeping, Jack Evans (in the white, above) decided to hit me with a leaping 450 senton splash. it hurt, and i had bruised ribs for days, but everyone had a laugh, so it was good.

last night he challenged me to a Senton-Off in Dayton, except that we get life points and we have to pretend we're playing Tekken, whatever that is.

i'm scared. i can barely do a sommersault.

Actually Tekken is great. Especially when you have no talent and hit the buttons real fast. The best part is when you beat your friend because you could hit random buttons faster than he could hit A-A-up-select-A-down-B-left-start.

Bahaha! Great stuff. There actually ARE moves you can do, and strings of moves. But they are complex. Which is why it was the perfect 1st fighting game for my son to learn on several years back. But all Hens should stay far, far away indeed!

Hey, it pales in comparison to DOA: Hardcore, but the Tekken story and characters and I have a strong bond.

it oughta be interesting - myself, and my crew (guys named Pusher, D Ball, and Bobo), are hanging out with Jack Evans, Fast Eddie, Bobby Cruise, Fat Pants (the head ref), Homicide, and Nana.

CM Punk vs. Amazing Red. During the match, Punk messed up a lot of moves. He didn't look like he was on his game. Red did some high flying moves. Punk wins a DDT.

wonder if he still worn out from Saturday's brutal match.
