so for the past couple of months i've had the pleasure of seeing The Artist Formerly Known as Jamie Noble wrestle in Ring of Honor on the indy circuit.
if the WWE hadn't have completely dropped the ball with him, and really let him wrestle, cut promos, and just be an all around f*cking God, he could be one of the most over faces they've had in years.
he is DAMNED good. a sheer pleasure to watch work in the ring, and a genuinely nice and humble man. before his first match in ROH, he got a standing ovation, and nearly began crying in the ring, stunned at the reaction he received.
i thanked him afterwards for his match, and he said "twadn't nothin'. i just like to rassle."
on the mic, his West Virginia accent is thick as pea soup, but man, he cuts a solid promo. especially when, this weekend, after losing to Dragon Soldier B in the semifinals of the Best of the Americans Super Junior tournament when Spanky threw in the towel because Gibson's back was messed up, started screaming "that was bullsheeeeet! pure bullsheeeeeeet!"

I loved his character in WWE. I think they misused him quite a bit. He was on the small side, but that's just who they needed to compete with the Rey Mysterio and Kidman's of the world. Glad he's back on his feet, or so it appears.

i haven't yet had the pleasure to hang out with james, other than when, after the matches a few weeks ago near New Haven, he said "y'all got any beers?" and we opened up the trunk and gave him a six-pack.
he said "this'll get me to the hotel."
