0 Subject: Trade Talk

Posted by: Great One - [1049299] Sat, Jun 11, 2005, 17:13

With D'von's return and CM Punk signing a WWE deal I now have way to many guys to work with and would like to package them and condense them into a roster of my favorite guys or into picks for next season. This means the following are available..

Batista
Kane
Romeo
Hurricane
Nitro

Like to keep Rey/Dvon/Punk.

I attached my work email where I can talk all week or email my personal all weekend.

I am looking to trade for a guy who will outscore Orton. I am willing to trade Farns number 1 pick or my number 2 (2.1) for them. Anyone interested?

As MITH mentioned a few weeks ago - I believe the trade deadline is at the post of Week 21 Rosters - which would be this weekend 9/11.

I am home from work the next few days so anyone interested in working on any deals I am open to almost anything.

The only guy I am 100% keeping is CM Punk for obvious reasons... that means if Batista can help you keep a guy you don't wanna lose - make an offer. If you need more solid guys to slide under a low leading scorer (Cade, Nitro, Boogeyman, Romeo) they can be had...

I am also willing to move guys to move up my 4th rounders into the second round in the draft which costs you almost nothing.
Currently have
GO's #1
GO's #2
Tree's #4
GO's #4

With the deadline approaching quickly I am seeing that Orton will probably pass Viscera as my top scorer. Therefore I am fielding offers to trade Orton and my 3rd rounder. pick 3.1 for a solid guy who will not outscore viscera and a number 1 pick. Anyone interested?

Wiggs is LOADED for next year. Well done.
4? Good picks to add RVD and Cade onto.

That for me was kind of like making my first round draft pick in a way.

I am STILL all freaking Smackdown so I am still open to offers with a couple days to go. I guess Nitro and Boogeyman are my best options to move. Those two can be had for 1 solid RAW guy.

Wiggs - you and I should probably post our current draft picks since we have both made a mess of it lol...

Gents,
As fate would have it, I have been involved in the mess known as Katrina. My home here in the great state of Mississippi is alright but I no longer have phone nor cable service and figure to have neither for quite a while.

If you have sent me an e-mail, I can not get to it. Sorry for the inconvenience. Luckily, I have found limited access at my local library but am unable to do anything e-mail related.

I also have not know any of the happenings regarding anything WWE since Katrina hit us last Monday afternoon. I would visit the usual wrestlings sites but frankly I don't have the time at this moment. Too much to do; to much family to take care of, etc....

For what it's worth, please continue your prayers and support for all these families that have been devasted by Mother Nature's wrath. We have begun getting back on our feet and look forward to getting back to normal ASAP. In the meantime, I suppose I'll be out of the loop for a while. I'll keep ya'll posted on our status when I can. Thanks for your patience!

Only thing really out of date on your squad is I think you should probably start Holly instead of Hogan, I will post that in the roster thread for you just in case you can't get back in here to check.

If I see any killer waiver claims come along I will shoot you an email too or even confer with anyone else who has lower waiver priority if we should just claim the talent on your behalf...

You deal with the more important stuff... GO

Bond - Kane being out gives you an outside shot at keeping him if you can get someone to catch him - you have a few guys 100 points behind so you have a good shot.
(Or I bet you could trade for someone who has scored 300 points and could top Kane which would help you out cause I know he is one of your favorite guys).

I also would like to propose that if we don't hear back from Bond - and since he hasn't had time to really review the situation due to the extenuating circumstances - that he recieve an extension on the trade deadline... or maybe he could do a "waiver trade" and we have a gentlemens agreement to let it go through. I think we are flexible enough group to work on such things... let me know your thoughts.

All the best to you and your family Bond. As has been said, we'll still be here.

Nice trade getting that 1st rounder wiggs. I think I had a better dude to offer in Hardy, but I wasn't willing to pony up the 1st rounder.

yeah, the 1st rounder was what i wanted. This way I have 4 of the top 11 picks in next years draft. Of course i would have liked to have kept orton, he has been the backbone of my team for 4 seasons.

From Species in thw Waiver thread:

"Interesting trade, btw. From GO's perspective, I am guessing that you liked Big Show better than Nitro as a keeper? From Mike D's perspective he comes out sweet, IMO. He guarantees himself either Cena or Batista as a keeper, for 'only' giving up a 'downgrade' of Show to Nitro as another keeper.

Perhaps GO knows something I don't about Nitro. To me he's looked pretty good, the whole MNM concept is gold, and I think the whole package has a lot of charisma and potential. Is Nitro himself that charismatic? No. But throw in Melina (mmmmmmmmmmm baby) and the model gimmick and it all fits well. And, IMO, Nitro will only get better."

I "think" GO and I saw it as a fairly balanced trade. I was hesitant to make it because I really like Cool, who isn't far behind Batista in overall points, and would make a nice keeper for me. However, I've never had Batista, and as you mentioned the opportunity to either keep him or keep Cena----who is pretty fun to have----was tempting. Big Show is a solid performer but I've had him awhile and getting Nitro is a nice change of pace for me. Plus, I had gone from all Smackdown to almost all RAW after the WWE trades. This gives me more balance.

Mostly though it was something to do. ;)

Species... yeah it essentially was Nitro for Big Show as I was trying to get some more RAW talent on my squad and I had too many tag team guys and it seems like they disappear on some of these cards (although Animal's crazy run is probably what sealed Mike's title this season). So I managed to move Cade (and my #1) and Nitro for top singles guys this week in Orton and Big Show.

I also read that Big Show is taking time off but thats fine with me as long as he is back in a month or two and ready to pick up some easy squashes.

Adding Carlito was kind of interesting cause yeah I was gonna lose Batista anyway - now I have a RAW guy who I may wind up keeping if Rey passes him but either way I am left with someone I really like.

So thats...
Carlito/Rey
Orton
Big Show
CM Punk

and I really like the way thats set up.
I also don't think I have ever had any of these guys on my squad before so its kind of neat way to freshen things up a bit.

Ok - that makes more sense. I forgot about the SD/RAW 'balance', and as you said it's also fun to have new guys to root for. That's a fair point about tag team guys who can go completely off the radar for a month sometimes - although I wonder if that will happen with Nitro as the MNM investment/push has been pretty consistent - usually they are in a match, or a singles match, or Melina's in a match, etc. They usually stick there noses in somewhere.

yeah but the thing is - Mercury has gotten 3! of the singles matches in a row (and believe me, I have monitored it). Tree noted he just thinks its cause Mercury is more polished/consistent and not as "raw" a talent at this point and can work a singles match more compentently I guess. He is a former ECW tag champ afterall!! E-C-W!

He will score just fine though, you are right. Its a great gimmick and they want them on tv somehow each week --- and they will likely be getting the belts back soon enough cause this LOD thing can't continue, can it?! lol...

Of course it can. Animal is on the block for a top 5 guy.

LOL!
