JR 5
Lawler 5
Ric Flair 12+30+30+10+5+5+5=97
Carlito Caribbean Cool 12+15=27
Edge 12+5+15+5=37
Lita 12+5+10+5=32
Torrie Wilson 12+12= 24
Candice "You can call me Daddy" Michelle 12+10=22
Victoria 12+12=24
Ashley 12+25=37
Trish Status 12+25=37
Big Show 12+30=42
Gene Snitsky 12+15=27
Shawn Michaels 12+5+30=47
Kerwin White 12+15=27
Shelton Benjamin 12+30=42
Matt Hardy, Version 2.0(?) 12+5+30=47
Eric Bischoff 12+5+10=27
John Cena 12+5+10+12=39
Lance Cade 12+25+30=67
Trevor Murdoch 12+25+30=67
Rosey 12+12=24
Hurricane 12+12=24
Chris Masters 12+5+15=32
Kurt Angle 12+18=30

Notes and points of discussion:
- Gave Flair 10 for the in-ring promo. Figured the HHH reference, setting up their anticipated feud, was worth the seperate points.
- Gave Carlito 5 for backstage vignette for his refusing to give an interview.
- Did NOT give Flair 5 for them showing the limo 'steaming'. The recap makes it sound like you didn't see Flair specifically, although the case could be made that the inference of Flair inside with the chicks was worth the 5.
- Gave Edge and Lita 5 for a 'backstage' vignette for them being shown "trying" to make it back to the backstage area. It happened in the arena but I counted it (due to 'significance') as only 5.

20 for Angle --- 50 total
20 for Cena --- 59

OH, and gave Cena 'defense' points even though DQ.

Shit, and 3 more for Flair for curtain jerker poitns. Even 100 for Flair! Wow. Wooooooooooo!

Hmmmmmmmmm.....screwed up Cena's score I think. Ok, Cena should be:

12 for PPV appearance
5 for backstage vignette
20 for main event
10 for DQ loss
10 for title defense
-----
57 total

Sorry.

We don't give curtain points for PPVs.

Why not? In a sense it would be an even bigger deal than a TV show.

Do you mean the above to mean:

1 - We just never specified it?

or 2 - It's not warranted at all?

No the issue was addressed. Iirc the prevailing opinion at the time was that on TV the first entrance of the show is regarded as an honor but in a PPV the lowest match on the card is usually the first one.

I don't know that the IC match should be considered the lowest match on the card but there's definitely merit to the strategy. On a TV show they are trying to keep you tuned in for the whole thing and so it makes sense that they would want to start it off with a bang like Rey Mysterio's entrance. But with the PPV, once they've got your $$$, it doesn't quite matter so much so it might make more sense for the show to build as it goes.

Fair enough. 97 for Flair.

It's still worth a "Woooooooooooooooooooooooo" though!

Here you go Bond's formal proposal and the corresponding vote for curtain jerker points. - This would only be for RAW and Smackdown shows.

And the discussion actually too place in the scoring rules thread.

Post 22 MITH: How many points for he first person out on a PPV?

Post 23 Bond: At the risk of being confrontational and causing further controversy, these points should only be reflected for non-PPV's. My feeling is that the PPV's are scheduled for the least important match to appear first. This is NOT an honor and should not be rewarded as such.

lol GO. Yeah. Nice to win a title, get an in-ring promo afterwards, and get 3 vignettes (and could have counted for 4) of your Viagra-enhanced celebration on top of it.

Who SAW the PPV? The Matt Hardy leg drop from the top of the cage had to be SICK. Think how risky that was to judge your angle from the top of the cage. As long as you don't plant your ass on his nose you're probably ok, as you can increase the angle of your knee if you misjudge WHERE on your opponent's body you're gonna hit....but still a pretty risky move.

The cage match was good. Edge upright powerbombing Hardy into the wall of the cage was just great. I was a little disappointed at there not being being any good high spots until that leg drop. Flair worked pretty stiff I thought.
