I just read that on wwe.com. I havent seen anything on any of the message boards yet. Maybe it is a ploy, but seemed real.

oh i know its on WWE. Other websites are reporting that WWE is reporting it.

I sorta doubt a guy with a possible PPV match and a huge contract with weekly TV face time has legitimately quit. If this isn't a work I'll be very surprised.

Seems very work-like to me. Nothing on TSN.ca about it yet...

it's being reported that this is NOT a work.

apparently, his contract expires today, and they had been working on a new one, and he simply didn't like the terms offered. he's also fairly pissed how he's been treated lately, being brought almost to the main event, then dropped.

to me, it's not unlike what happened with the Dudley Boys, and i think we'll see this a lot more as TNA becomes more and more viable....

Then why give him the pub on your front page?

From pwinsider.com:

For those who have asked, Christian's quitting WWE is not a work. He worked his last match for WWE last night at the Smackdown taping in Los Angeles. He was in negotiations for a new contract, as I believe his old one expires today, and did not like the terms he was being offered from WWE and turned down the deal. From what I have heard, his leaving took at least some people in WWE management by surprise. On the flip side, we have been reporting for months now that Christian was not happy with the way WWE was using him, especially after they brought him to the cusp of main event status, only to push him back down the card. So to others in the company, his turning down WWE's offer wasn't a surprise at all. WWE has already pulled down his bio on the Smackdown page. It's also interesting to note that unlike what they have done with others in the past, they did not wish him well on the page when they announced his left the company.

Then why give him the pub on your front page?

call it the Rick Rude Hypothosis.

Rick Rude was on a taped Raw, with his moustache, at the same time he was on a live Nitro, without his moustache. this was VERY embarrasing to the WWE.

this way, there are no surprises when he shows up on a competitors TV show or live event.

does WWE really have a mainstream TV competitor? TNA is all that springs to mind and are they even on live TV yet?

**Note: Minor SD spoiler alert**

:(

What a shame. Taking our fantasy league completely out of the picture for a moment, Christian has been one of the best workers in the company for years and has always been one of my favorites. Very charismatic, and able to generate heat with just an eyebrow or a smirk, let alone his strong mic work (I laughed my ass off on the Peep Show a couple weeks ago when he had Stacy on -- he knew his time was short, so he slipped in "I've always thought you were a bit of a tramp" to get a quick shot in and generate some heat.

I think he HAS gotten screwed lately in his booking. OK, he's often been sort of a glorified mid-card heel 'jobber', and that would've been just fine for him in the grand scheme if, at least SOME of the time, he got over or maybe sniffed a US Title program. But how many times is it HIM that always gets pinned, even in these multi-man matches. It was HIM that got pinned by Mysterio last week.....and this week (spoiler alert) it was HIM that gets pinned AGAIN in a Hardy/Mysterio vs. JBL/Christian (Holly as Ref) match pumping up who should be on Taboo Tuesday.

If this is all true, I wonder how much of it was $$$ and how much of it was him being booked so crappily.

PS - and I voted for Christian for Taboo Tuesday out of spite!

....and he's on RAW live tonight. I guess his last contractual obligation?!? But if they're booting Torrie off the PPV, why not Christian?

More specifics on Christian from TSN.ca. Not sure I like this move.
