0 Subject: Vote Here: ECW being scored

This is a new vote in light of ECW now becoming its own brand and not just a once a year PPV.

It will likely have a couple of PPV's plus a weekly show. On top of that I've heard rumblings they may cancel Snoredown which would leave Raw as the only one we'd be scoring as of now. But the Snoredown cancellation is a ways off.

Anyway, with Smackdown becoming its only weekly brand and WWE stars transferring over (anyone under contract has been given the right to move over to ECW) all the time its going to severely cripple some teams.

ECW is now a 3rd brand, not a minor league show like Velocity and Heat. So.....

1. If you believe ECW's weekly show and all PPV's should be scored, vote yes.

2. If you voted yes to #1, please indicate whether points should be retroactive starting with this current week (June 5-June 11).

3. (a) If you voted yes to #1, should we have restrictions on the # of ECW guys a team can carry?
(b) If you said yes to #3a, how many?
(c) Should there be a redraft for ECW guys?
(d) Should there be a restriction on the # of ECW waiver moves a team can make each season (so a team can't just swap ECW guys)?

i protest this vote, as we've established precedent by never previously scoring other non-Raw, non-Smackdown shows.

it shouldn't change now.

I disagree Tree. In my opinion a majority can choose to amend existing rules at more or less any time. That being said, I vote:

tree, we have definately made lots of amendments to rules since this league has started. What is to stop a rule change this time?

in this case, precedent. i see no reason to vote on something that has been established already. we have NEVER had scoring for any regular show other than Raw or Smackdown.

we never said anything about giving points to curtain jerkers either until we decided it was better for the league.

Tree, your argument is useless. Should we never go against precedent? Is this your stance on real political issues too? Whatever the first ruling was is ironclad?

On a similar note, I think we should bring slavery back. It was initially legal and we should stick with the precedent that was set in the founding years of this country. No reason to ever change from an initial rule.

LOL - let's NOT turn this into a Political Forum discussion! Bleech!

Tree - please vote yes or no. I don't see any reason why it can't be put to a vote. The league has the right to amend the rules as the majority see fit. We've always done it that way.

for Great One via email:

1. Yes
2. Yes
3. (a)Yes
(b)2
(c)No
(d)Yes to limits - 1 per week?

I am thinking we could just expand the roster by 2. Then we could expand the starting lineups by 2.
Those positions could be WWE/ECW slots.
Flex positions.
You don't have to start any ECW guys if you don't want to, you can start up to 2.

1. Yes---and no! Not to be difficult, I do believe it'd be in our best interests to include ECW in our weekly points (how can one possibly NOT give Angle and RVD their rightful points. However, since ECW is beginning in the midst of our Season VII, we shouldn't begin to score it until Season VIII. Too many headaches any other way. Therefore, my vore is "NO" for now!

Proposal is thereby defeated. Last vote can only make it 5-5 and lacks a majority.

What would happen if we did start scoring them... but didn't start with all these other changes until next season (roster expansions, limits, etc etc). I think all that would happen would be trimming of the fat... i.e. the Candice's, midgets, Juvys and Snitskys of the world would turn into Dreamer, Sandman, Sabu etc.

Ah well, I guess we can just take the summer, sit back and enjoy ECW and work on the perfect format. Its only got a 13 week TV contract, so until that gets picked up, no need to crazy anyway.

Thinking maybe we just tack on the 2 extra (WWE/ECW) spots and have a 6 round draft?

As long as HHH is married to a McMahon, we might see much Punk.

as for adding spots, i would vote against that too. i think it'll be more interesting to have a full talent pool on the waiver wire.
