And for those who seem to be in a dogfight, here's how each of the 4 "contenders" scored tonight.

Team Species 254
Team Farn 220
Team Wiggs 180

Forgot to note:

The final 7 guys left in the Rumble (Cena, HHH, Batista, Kane, Umaga, Kennedy, and Henry) each got the Main Event points. This is based on our Battle Royal Scoring and last year's precedent.

This is a rule that should be finalized in some way.

Also, is there interest in giving valets at PPV's 5 points instead of 3? If interference goes from 5-->10 for a PPV maybe valets should get a bump too?

Farn #3 - yes, that is the way I scored ringside appearances in PPV's. 5 vs. 3.

Strange how Batista outscored Cena who actually won. I know Cena came out last and only threw out one guy, but thats certainly odd.

Batista got 5 for a promo backstage. He also got the same 20 ME points. So the difference was him coming out earlier.

Now that I've slept on this result......

.....I do not like the Cena win at all. Surprise return? Okay sure. Huge pop, blah blah blah. But Cena as Champ or headlining is SO tired! Look how nice it has been that HHH has spent what? 18 months without the belt? It's been fresh.....DX run, face run....it's been nice. So Cena comes back and immediately headlines Mania? AGAIN?

I had really hoped Cena would spend a lot of time "chasing", which would have been new and fresh. Okay we'll have 2 months until Mania but he's already headlining, so what fun is that? Make him win the Elimination Chamber. Make him win or go through a series of contenders first. WHY on earth just give it to him out of nowhere?

Sighhhhhhhhhh

I'm with you Species. It was a huge shock, nice to see him back early, good pop, blah blah. But this company needs to give somebody else a run. Hardy would have been a great choice last night, even if just for 2 months.

I say give the belt to HBK, HHH, or Edge. :)

Don't think they could put him in the Chamber because thats just too much for his arm to handle right now. If you noticed last night he didn't really pick anyone up with both of his arms, and it was mostly punches and kicks and 5-knuckle etc... not major strength type moves with it. I think this was the way to get him into Mania, but I don't expect he'll wrestle much if at all until then. And if he does, it'll be where they can really hide him like a tag-match where he throws a few punches and gets out (ala MVP with his heart condition over the summer).

If they do let him go all out? Thats a scary proposition. Just ask Edge or Kennedy who came back too early from injuries over the last few years. They went right back on the shelf. That seems like a BIG risk to me.

GO is right. My guess is we get an interview tonight, a tag match next week, an interview the following week, and him in the Chamber. He will draw the last # in the Chamber and lose his WM spot or survive it in a short appearance in the Chamber.

I'll guess the Chamber is HHH, HBK, Cena, Hardy, and Kennedy. I would say Show could replace any of those last 3 if he's ready to go.

I want to say there are 6 in the Chamber for some reason, but I'm not sure.

I also thought there would be rep's from all brands involved. So Batista, Taker, Rey all possibilities there and Punk as the ECW guy.

I believe Kennedy vs. Flair for sure at the next PPV. So no win for Kennedy there either.

I was thinking 6 but didn't count correctly. So I'd assume it will be those 5 plus Show. I think they make it an all Raw event so its easier to promote leading up to it. Bit hard for Punk to start a rivalry with people from Raw. I guess they could put him and Edge in it with their current feud.

I'll go ahead and write the script... 12 contenders are identified, they have 6 matches and those winners earth a spot in the Chamber match.

I don't see Cena being involved cause this is supposed to be for the "other" belt that Cena isn't challenging for (so likely Edge's belt considering Orton is the one that "put Cena out" several months ago)...

There will also likely be cross-brand qualifiers as a way for Taker to be on RAW etc.

Taker vs. Kennedy
HHH vs. Kane
HBK vs. Punk
Rey vs. Big Show? (Vicki tries to screw Rey)
Batista vs. Umaga
Hardy vs. MVP
