pleae feel free to doublecheck scoring. With 24 guys involved for most of the show it wasn't easy to keep track.

Top 4 (ECW/Week/Season)

Wiggs (64/109/3495)
GO (59/96/3561)
Species (30/106/3795)
Farn (0/166/3800)

Did you score this from a recap, or did you watch the show. I did not see a dreamer/chavo match on TV. The recap showed it though, so either my DVD messed up or that match wasnt on there.

It looks like Species will outscore me about 60-5 on Smackdown so he should have a 50 or so point lead heading into Sunday.

I scored it from the dvr. I think the show ran late so thats probably why you missed it. I learned long ago to manually adjust the dvr to run 10 mins late for any wrestling show.

That's ok. At this point you should be hoping to lose some matches or not appear so you can stay below GO and be a spot closer to the top of the draft.

Until Cena and Taker and Khali all win the belts!
But seriously... Wiggs is pretty much guaranteed to win 1 major belt at WM - and has the potential to reasonably win all three! And if Kennedy wins MITB and then cashes it in right away as he claims - he could win 4 world titles in one night!

Of course ALL those won't happen... but Wiggs has A LOT of points just sitting there on the table in front of him right now.

Something that needs looking into... is Show vs. Mayweather going to be a "boxing match" and do we consider that the same as a regular match or whatever? (I also think this would impact his boxing exhibition from a couple weeks ago, which was scored a pinfall singles win I believe).

I think we may have precedent if we check and see MVP vs. Holyfield from last year on Saturday Nights Main Event. Not sure which way that one went though.
Boxing seems to fall somewhere in between wrestling match and arm wrestling match (always considered just a promo).

My opinion is whatever it is would be considered a regular bout for 30 points.

But I'll leave this to anyone else because I have Big Show.

SNME MVP vs. Holyfield

Looks to me that we scored the boxing match just like a "masterlock challenge" or arm wrestling... so... its all gonna come down to the wording of the announcers and presentation of the rules. i.e. is Show wearing boxing gloves? can there be takedowns?

Think we need to look at that match where Show threw that guy out of the ring too a couple weeks ago.

I never considered it not to be a regular match for 30 points, I would say it should be scored as the same as any other match.

How do we score a pillow fight?

Thats true... how about a water balloon fight? Thats it, we need to rescore the season where I had MVP and it cost me 10 points! :)

IF we have scored other boxing matches one way we should continue with it the same way.

I really don't want to cause a problem but honestly if this isn't score as a typical match I'm going to blow up.

The match has a chance to be the actual main event (although not likely). The match is receiving worldwide attention and is the only thing drawing nonwrestling fans. Its getting 10-15% of all wrestling tv coverage each and every week.

If we score this as a 10 point promo you may be looking for a new manager next season, whether I win the title or not. And that's not a threat honestly. I'm just making it clear that if its scored as a 10 point promo (which of course means no 12 point wrestling bonus either) you are doing a complete injustice to the entire bout.

To be a match, don't we need:

1 - A bell to start the match
2 - A winner declared

If those things happen, it's a match, doncha think??

I remember recently there was a "pillow fight match" with a bed in the ring and divas. There was a bell, and after some bull**** thrashing around, Ashley hit a splash and got a pin. A bell, a pin, a victor announced.

Match.

another comparison... Show vs. Akebono sumo showdown WAS scored as a regular wrestling match.

I just think its worth discussing and that if thats the direction we are heading, rules wise we need to clarify that any type of fight with a winner and loser should be of the 30 point win variety... and we need to clearly define all the situations, specify i.e. arm wrestling showdown will NOT be scored that way, but boxing or MMA style match or pudding brawl or water balloon war IS scored that way.

And damn if I am not retroactively owed MVP 10 points for 2 years ago! :)

Ditto what has been said.
A bell to start the match
A winner declared.

Then it's a match.

Just my thoughts.

I am ok with post 16. Although you better not word it with "a winner announced" because you eliminate "no contests" and we'd be revisiting last week's Raw Main Event where no winner was announced.

I think we all have common sense. When its the Divas we should be expecting it as a promo. When its main eventers (or famous boxers) we should be assuming its a legitimate match.

I think Friday's show will have a Diva type thing that seems to be a "real" match. But you could call it a promo. That match doesn't matter much because none of the top 4 have any of them.

And Bunny Mania may cause the same problems (and we can't blow it off because I have Beth).

You're right Farn, I was just going to clarify that. Instead of "A winner declared" it should be "an outcome announced" or the like.

But I disagree with the part about whether it's a main eventer or a diva deal. I think the standards should apply equally to a diva match, a midget match, or a famous WM celebrity match. The Bunny Mania thing is a basic tag match, isn't it?

I wouldn't be shocked if Bunny Mania ends up a promo if Snoop is hosting.

Honestly, if Big Show vs. Mayweather isn't scored as a match there is gonna be a real problem. I don't care if Mayweather knocks him out in 3 seconds. I can't imagine there won't be a bell so it shouldn't be an issue but if its scored a promo we are really doing it an injustice.

Farn - But dude, IT DEPENDS. How can you be ready to have a problem before we've even seen the match? I know you have Show, but if the match is (or isn't) like in Post 16 (with No contests included as well of course), it's completely consistent with our scoring for 5 years.

And we'll score the bunny match like any other "event" in wrestling with the same rules applied. I don't get the big deal.

I sympathize with the intensity of the posts. But.....it has always been that we look back to see how we handled things, and then we either do it that way, or we vote and clarify/create new rules. MITH always did the digging. That might be a good idea for anyone who has the time and/or a big involvement in it.

My hazy memory says we didn't want to give match points for arm wrestling. That's not really a wrestling match with stipulations. Even a lot of the diva matches that have been terrible---evening gown, tar and feather, etc---were wrestling matches/fights with a gimmic.

A boxing match is a fight, a match, with a gimmic. So I can see if being scored as a match. But it is easier if precedent is found.

If its a boxing match it has to be scored as a match.

If for some reason they pay Mayweather all that money to arm wrestle then I will gladly take it as a promo. I hardly believe VKM paid all that money and used all that airtime to have something that's a promo. So we should all be expecting a match.

I think Bunny Mania is more likely to be crap. Although with Lumberjacks there is a chance it could be a match but if Snoop is involved its not likely.

Mike D - unforunately for Fran, if we are going strictly on precedent, look at post 11 and see how we scored MVP vs. Holyfield boxing match, we scored it as a promo using a Masterlock Challenge as comparison.

Which is why I brought the whole issue up. I am certainly comfortable saying that a boxing match = a fight and therefore = standard match scoring... but we need to acknowledge this is AGAINST precedent and we need to all confirm that this will be the way it is ruled going forward.

Were we scoring in the days of Butterbean vs Mark Gunn?! :)

If you saw Mayweather/Show on Larry King, they did say something along the lines of "once Show catches you and gets his hands around your neck he's gonna crush you" which leads me to believe there won't be any boxing gloves - just a fight.

So, borrowing from my initial projections a week or two ago, if they are accurate I would win by like 3 points!!!! Holy smokes!

My predictions:

Orton will lose in the main event. 15+20+12 = 47
Batista will win (for the LOVE OF GOD please do not let this be a DQ!) 30+12=42
Umaga will lose 15+12 = 27
I think Finlay wins. Maybe even with some Hornswoggle revenge/whatever. I think Horny is a sympathetic figure and they want the fans "happy" on that one. 30+12=42
Punk and Shelton in MITB. Punk could POSSIBLY win, but I doubt it. 12+15=27 for both

I really have very little upside here. Mania PPV total 212.

I really think, despite a HUGE charge from wiggs, that it might not be enough. But you never know - if one of his big men wins the battle royal, he could miraculously win 3 belts in one night!

For Farn:

HHH wins. 12+30+50+20 = 112
HBK wins. 30+12 = 42
JBL loses. 15+12 = 27
Beth loses (Playboy push) 12+12=24
Big Show (you have to figure the celebrity gets "creative control") loses 12+15 = 27
Edge loses 12+15 = 27
Total = 259

Rules have been announced for Show vs. Mayweather:

*There must be a winner.

*The ways to win are by pinfall, submission or knockout.

*Anything goes in the match.

So I am guaranteed 27 points. And yes, I already know Show is losing.

Ouch for wiggs:

BATTLE ROYAL MOVED TO A DARK MATCH
- The 24 man battle royal which was scheduled to be on pay-per-view has been bumped to a preview match and will not be on the actual show. The winner of that match will then face Chavo Guerrero later on the show for the ECW championship. In the past few years the battle royal has been the preferred dark match at WrestleMania and was then included as an extra on the DVD.

This year the match will be streamed live on WWE.COM starting at 6:30PM EST. Participants include Mark Henry, Kane, The Great Khali, Snitsky, Matt Striker, Tommy Dreamer, Elijah Burke, Cody Rhodes, Bob Holly, Jim Duggan, Kofi Kingston, Brian Kendrick, Chuck Palumbo, Val Venis, The Miz, Lance Cade, Trevor Murdoch, Shannon Moore, Deuce, Domino, Jamie Noble, Jimmy Wang Yang, Jesse and Festus.
