Screw him, the company should do whatever it wants. Ever see that similar footage for Sandman wasted? its hilarious.

That footage of Hall is some of the saddest I've ever seen...he looked like a stroke victim being escorted to the ring.

I like my drink as much as the next Irish guy ... but I don't understand this. He can't stay sober, do his 5-10 minute match and THEN drink all night celebrating 10 minutes of work @ a full days pay? I don't get it.

Apparently, he ODed on prescription pills and that was the reason for his stupor...maybe there was alcohol in the mix as well.

@Rude - if you've never battled addiction problems it's probably difficult to understand.
Scott Hall is an addict - sadly, he's an addict to many things, from alcohol to pills to harder drugs.
watching that footage, the promotion had no business bringing him to the ring. they saw the shape he was in, and yet still brought him out. just disgusting.

Tree, I'd agree to a point. But let me ask... if the company doesn't bring him to the ring, do they still have to pay him? I have a feeling Hall takes them to court to demand payment, saying he was never drunk/high and he was there ready to work.
If he wasn't going to demand payment I'd agree and just keep it private. But I have a strong feeling he'd have demanded payment, in which case the company needs to make sure they make their money.

And now here's proof backing up my last post.
STATEMENT FROM TRP OWNER STEVE RICARD RE: Scott Hall
Top Rope Promotions has been holding family oriented wrestling shows for 30 years now, and on our 30th Anniversary event, we brought in one of the biggest names in pro wrestling, Scott Hall (aka Razor Ramon).
We drew a packed house and a good majority of them were there to see Hall. Hall and his people down in FL had all claimed he was clean and good to go. His flight and hotel were pre paid, and his appearance fee was demanded upon arrival at the airport (which he asked for within 3 min of being picked up).
Hall had arrived in a wheel chair with 3 bottles of prescription pills in his posession. Hall had performed an interview with our local newspaper The Herald News around 6 PM on Thursday night, saying how much he was looking forward to coming to the show, and how he was clean. Less then 24 hrs later, he showed up in the state he was in, demanding his appearance fee. Right off the bat, we were in a bad situation.
Having Hall at the building, already pre paid with his appearance fee, hotel, flight, etc. He even harassed my driver in the process. Hall was persistent to appear on the show. His heart was in the right place, unfortunately I can't say the same about his mind or his body.
Throughout the night he made threats to numerous members of my staff, as well as myself demanding more money, demanding to go to the ring when he wanted to etc. He was also threatening to kill me if I "screwed" him over. I'm 31 years old and I should be in no circumstances, babysitting someone in there 50's.
Hall made at best, an embarrassing performance in the ring and for the fans who came to see him, trashing matches that were on the show before him and addressing the crowd as if we were in England.
Neither Hall, nor anyone who helped line up the date, or any of his close friends or agents have called to apologize or offer a refund for his "less then stellar" appearance. He showed his true colors and who he was this past Friday night. If he's upset that we're airing a stream of this atrocious appearance, maybe he should issue an apology to the fans, the promotion, and the workers of the company. One would only assume that no one that night got what they paid for, myself included.

Based on tonight's Smackdown taping, I'm punting this season, somewhat out of protest, somewhat out of intelligence.
So...
The Miz Christian HHH
can all be had for a #1 pick each. Send me the offer and we'll have these deals finalized before Sunday.

I didn't get offers that would help the long term prospect of the franchise so I'm just going to glide through the season. I don't want to make any moves to hurt the franchise because...
...I've decided this will be my last RWF season. I'm giving notice so somebody can decide to handle standings and stats and scoring and the draft and trades and whatever else I'm forgetting.
I've just reached a point where the league seems to have lost fun. I can't compete unless I trade my entire future for a prayer to win once and to me that's just not worth it. There's just a lot of flaws to the system that make this league a little harder to be realistic (I know that seems odd to complain about for a wrestling league) and its just reached a point where its not as much fun and combined with the extra work load its just not worth it.
I apologize to all but hopefully someone will step up and take over next season.

I guess I could take the standings unless anyone else wants to give it a shot.
Farn, you should try and play the rest of this season without the extra scoring and see if you have more fun with it. You have plenty of assets there to compete right now. Make some trades, shuffle things up. You should trade a 1st for a good scorer. Trade HHH to a rebuilding team. Although I also expect he'll be around soon to set up a Summerslam match. That would give you a good a lineup as anybody.

Honestly GO, the system is broken. The total lack of rules governing trades and the lack of accountability of managers/franchises is just nuts. Unless that system is fixed it will just continue to drag down any enjoyment I would have had with this league. But its ok, honestly, I'm ok with retiring.
Oh, and nobody is offering a real trade for HHH.

Not sure I see what you are saying about trades. Trades made this year seem pretty much in line with how we've traded in the league since the beginning. If anything i'd say its been more tame than usual. Remember the season when you guys were trading picks 3 seasons in advance? I thought that was way out of whack. Still surprised we never put a cap on that officially.
Do you have any thoughts on what needs to be regulated in terms of trading?

Oh I know its the same as every season. That doesn't make it logical.
There needs to be some kind of regulation along the lines of draft pick trading. Something like the NBA where you can't trade #1s in consecutive years? Or you can't trade a 1st and a 2nd in the same season?
What happens is managers have no accountability for the future. They just give away everything for 1 year and then bomb for 2 seasons. Regulations are needed on picks or the league is just totally out of whack.

I'm all for step 1 being no trading more than 1 season out (which we've been in line with anyway for a year or so).
I think the less keepers thing has worked well. Teams like Bobo were able to fix things pretty quickly by picking up a couple good keepers before the deadline.
As far as multiple picks in the same year, I could see something like that making sense. I just can't hash it out in my head how to do that.

What's maddening in this league is teams can totally punt a season or 2 and disappear. Because I do all the work they can punt a season and never post for 6 months. Make no chances. Then they mortgage 2 seasons to try to win once and then they disappear again.
If this was a real sports league (I know I know) a fan base wouldn't allow that. But its not so managers do nothing for a season or 2. Just doesn't work. The system needs major tweaking.

I personally think making it less keepers is what hurt the league. Just like you said- you can trade your 1st pick this year and get 2 for next season because there is so much talent in the draft pool the last place team can take over.
For example this season I lost Orton Swagger Kofi
When we kept 5 teams had to work harder to build a dynasty. I knew there was no chance for me to do anything this season so I decided to punt, not to screw anything up, but because I knew I was at best going to finish 5th.

Farn- you are right- the managers who disappear for 2 seasons should have a consequence. maybe something like we do in our football league.
We have 4 teams make the playoffs, then the 5-10 finishers pick in that order. so for example-
5,6,7,8,9,10,4,3,2,1 It makes it so people will actually play out the year. Right now it is better to play 4 starters and get a better pick then to actually try to compete.

i wish i had an answer. i'm also frustrated by the way trading happens in this league. i don't know the answer short of making larger teams.
but the confines of the WWE won't allow that. i wonder how a cumulative WWE/TNA/ROH league would go about.

4 Teams make the playoffs, regular season ends with Royal Rumble or Summerslam. The non-playoff teams fight for the #1 pick and they pick in order that they finish.

Tree, that would certainly open up the league to more action but it would cause 2 problems....
1. I'd have to score a lot more shows. 2. TNA and ROH tape weeks in advance and it would really reek havoc with lineup changes.
Just throwing ideas at the wall here but would a ping pong ball lottery like the NBA uses change draft pick trading strategy?
I still think the best way to curb punting and make it more realistic would be to restrict what draft picks you can trade or how often you can trade them. Or maybe a rule on how often you can have a top 3 pick? So teams can't punt multiple seasons in a row and they are penalized for making a mockery of their franchise for years.

i wonder if part of the solution is to bridge the scoring gap.
the fact is, this league is unbalanced in terms of haves, and have nots. and for the have nots, it kills things. for me, as soon as my number one draft pick - and the returning top scorer in the league - retired basically before i even got to have him on my team - i knew my season was over, and my waning interest waned even more.
i don't know what the answer is, but there's got to be a way to bring balance.

My two cents: Just do away with trading for future picks altogether, we just start fresh every season. There will be no punting this way. We can do keepers the same way. Of course this wouldn't go into effect until the season after next because so many have already dealt for future picks.

Smackdown is going to air live on Tuesday, August 30th. It will then re-air on Friday, Sept 2nd in its usual timeslot.
On the off chance that WWE edits the Tuesday live show for the Friday airing, which one do we want to count as the real one? I'm assuming the live episode but I'm ok with either.

Smackdown spoiler which includes a scoring update.
The original Sin Cara reappeared at tonight's taping to confront the fake Sin Cara. As discussed previously, points given to Hunico (fake Sin Cara) will be changed to his name. All the points he had wracked up under the name Sin Cara will be removed with the next standings.
The Fake Sin Cara debuted with the Week 18 Smackdown.
