Subject: The New Look WCW! Posted by: 6-9 With The Afro - [360123110] Tue, Apr 18, 10:18 Wow, I can't believe this forum is so dead. Anyway, let's talk about the biggest fantasy sport of all; Wrestling. I know plenty of Gurupies are Wrestlin' fans so let's hear it. How about the new look WCW! I can't believe Bischoff has saved Hogan's career again! I can't believe the pop these old guys are getting. What's everyone else think. Is the tide turning? Will Nitro return to it's old dominance? | ||||||

I don't think they will be able to emulate the WWF like they are trying to do, since they don't have the talent level. Their strength, IMHO, was their wrestling, and that is now lost. Goldberg is great, it sucks that he's been hurt. He is the future.
I agree with Jay-P though. Hogan and Flair are the legends the game was built on. They just don't excite me anymore though. Man, if Flair ever takes his shirt off.....I liked Luger for a bit, years ago. He seems to have lost any ability to do a wrestling move. Sting can still perform well, but has never seemed the same after his bad injury a couple of years ago. DDP? Close to retiring. Jarrett? Mid-carder made World Champ, who the h*ll knows why. Sid? He can still perform. I like the fast paced younger performers in the WWF. The storylines have blown WCW's away IMHO over the last year or more. I'm a huge ECW fan, and adding the Dudley's and Taz only increased my interest in the WWF. The addition of Mike Awesome to WCW was a smart move, but how many other smart moves has WCW made? Not many. The most disgusting of which was giving the World Title-----not just any title, the World Title-----to a freakin' actor. If the WWF ever did that, I'd stop watching it. But they never would. | |||||

You're right Mike D. Vince would never pull a stunt like that, the World Title means too much to him and the Federation.
WCW is the worst and their "re-invention" of their product was sure short-lived (i.e. David Arquette) and once again it's same old boring crap with pitiful matches and no consistent story lines. | |||||

Anyway, they don't even have a match! Sting dumps a bucket of "blood" on Vamp, and DDP uses his finisher, and gets the bloody pin (no pun intended). WTF? | |||||

I couldn't agree more Frank. Jarret isn't bad---IC champ in WWf----but no way should he be mentioned with the words World Title. Although I'd think he's better than Arquette.

What bout Kimberly, Steiner's freaks and Miss "legs that go on and on" Hancock? WCW's women just keep gettin' better and better.
And WCW is starting to push the young guys. I'll admit they were stupid for losing Jericho, Saturn and Benoit but the new approach they're taking now is great and will keep getting better. I mean come on, you guys can't tell me you're not interested in checking out the triple threat cage match! It's the best concept for a match since the original cage! And I'd much rather see the legends out there showin the young'ens how it's done than watching the family feud..er..I mean the McMahon family saga. It's getting old fast while WCW just keeps gettin' better. And when Goldberg gets back it's gonna be through the roof! | |||||

Personally, I think they've got the right stuff all around and WCW just doesn't interest me anymore. WCW just regularly keeps letting people down and all they seem to do is watch what the other 2 do and then copy it, and poorly. Also, how can you have a hardcore division and show no blood. WCW is lucky it still exists. Quite frankly, how can anybody support a federation when its own wrestlers won't? Just look at how many WCW wrestlers have Flocked to the WWF or ECW. My own personal opinion is that WWF is, by far, the better federation. The fact that wrestlers them-
selves agree and prove it by filling the WWF's ranks makes the opinion that much closer to fact. | |||||
