Just a place to check in... brainstorm while we wait on a return to real live TV tapings.

Anyone up for a fun all time WWE draft? Snake style... maybe 8 rounds... tag teams can be 1 "pick"....

Conversation? Give me your Mt. Rushmore for WWE specifically... or maybe one across all promotions?

Wwe - hogan, Austin, HBK, brock.

The concept of “Rushmore” to me isn’t the four best it’s four greats that changed or carried something for the better that makes you think “we wouldn’t be where we are today if it wasn’t for x”

I wanted To go hart over hbk but him leaving was actually more of a negative change.

PWInsider.com has confirmed the following talents have been released by WWE:

Luke Gallows
Karl Anderson
Curt Hawkins
Zack Ryder
Lio Rush
EC3
Kurt Angle
Drake Maverick
Maria Kanellis
Mike Kanellis
Erick Rowan.
Epico
Primo
Sarah Logan
No Way Jose

if all elite wrestling can spend the money I think they could get a ton of value how did Anderson and gallows also EC3, Erick Rowan, Sarah Logan.

If AEW signs these guys I'd probably quit watching. Don't buy washed up WWE guys, its a bad look. A small % is fine like Hardy or Jake who are unique and have something to give. Keep it under 20% of the roster.

I don't want a repeat of TNA making guys that couldn't cut it in WWE as their world champs.

More Lance Archers and Darby Allins.

side note... Archer is obviously a WWE castoff, but that was a lifetime ago before he found his calling in Japan. And fixed that awful tattoo... maybe the 2 are related?!

some of those guys would fit fine in the AEW roster - a WWE castoff isnt a castoff necessarily because he or she is a bad wrestler, but more likely because the roster is bloated.

some of those guys - EC3, Rowan, and Sarah Logan come immediately to mind, would all fit in, and they've been talking about EC3 coming for awhile.

Put Rowan and Sarah Logan in with Brodie Lee (seriously, if you've never seen Logan's indy stuff, she's insane), and honestly, a Mike Bennet/EC3 team managed by Maria could also be a lot of fun.

And considering Anderson and Gallows' connections to the Bullet Club, i could also see them coming in as well.

oh, and Chris Hero. Man, i don't care where Chris gets to work, I'll be excited to see him.

Not only a fantastic wrestler, but absolutely one of the nicest guys in the world, and along with Roddy, Claudio, and Necro (what Necro has become in his retirement, is, sadly, another story) always went out of their way to shoot the $hit with me when I worked for ROH.

he definitely made some appearances as a manager with his new look, and may have even wrestled.

doesn't change he fact that his "retirement", which consisted of a steady diet of Fox News coupled with his numerous head injuries, turned him into a jerk, which is a damned shame, because he was absolutely one of the most enjoyable guys to hang out with on the road...

Howdy everyone hope you’re all safe and sound.
Idea I had was to do an Attitude Era Draft (taking a random month from 97, 98, 99, and 01 for the regular season. Roughly 16 week season. And then draw final months for the playoff rounds. Could even cut the regular season to 3 months. Honor system not to Google search and/or watch the shows ahead of time. Just spitballing for a fun diversion plus would be fun to watch some classic wrestling.

5 starter, 3 bench format. No prospects.

Oh edit: forgot to include ‘00 in there. If anyone’s likes the idea feel free to tinker/refine. The draft itself would be a blast.

I like it as well. The big decision would be - do we know the months before the draft or do we draft blind for the five year window. Then to score I guess we can use some type of records system? Or whomever scores will have to have the network and watch the shows each week.

That’s what I was considering too Money. I feel like for a sense of more randomness we wouldn’t know the months picked ahead of time. To simplify things, I’m willing to score and provide the raw data, I just don’t have the knowledge to do the fancy charts so I’d need some help with that (unless you wanted a super basic list format).

My thoughts if we are to move forward with this would be as follows:

1997 Raw
2 random months
(Scoring period includes 2 shows or 2 shows +PPV as there was just Raw at this time)

1998 Raw
2 random months
(Scoring period same for 1997)

1999
Here it gets interesting as SD becomes a thing as of April 29 (a one off special and then an ongoing show as of August 26, 1999. My thoughts are include those shows in those months if they get picked in the future playoff rounds. But otherwise for regular season purposes it would be one random month of September to December and scoring both Raw/SD.

2000
Raw/SD 1 month

2001
Raw/SD 1 month

Final Round 1
(A completely random Year!
Candidates
1997- 2 months from Raw out of the ones not picked
1998- see above
1999- 2 months of Raw (+ oddball SD included for April and August) months spanning January to August
1999- 1 month Raw+SD (out of the remaining months September to December)
2000- 1 month Raw +SD
2001- 1 month Raw+SD

Final Round 2
(A completely random Year!)
Using the same format above picking out of the remaining months)

PPV included of course. No Shotgun Saturday Nights or Sunday Night Heat scoring etc.. just the big shows. Keeping current scoring format. Waiver wire as normal. Of course we would need help with a lot of third party randomization. This is what I came up with upon reflection. I think we’d need at least 6 people in to make it worthwhile.

I would probably have the 2 months for older Raws be continuous (eg: Jan-Feb for 1998) as well as it’s more fun to follow the storylines that way and there’s a bit more continuity despite the randomness.. and you can adjust on the wire accordingly easier.

Sounds great, I would play. I think the random time frame should be a secret until the scoring unveils. Also picked by 2 or more people so not one person might seem to have interest in a certain timeframe based on their teams. If that makes sense.

I would add that since there was no brand split - when we get to Raw and Smackdown times - have the months for Raw be different for the months for smackdown. IF they're the same it will just put some teams in the Rich get Richer or the poor get poorer scenario.

In case you are counting people up, I would not be interested in participating. Enjoying the break.

I do think when regular shows start again we should do a from scratch re-draft as it'll be a completely different world. When do full crowd shows start again anyway? might not be anytime soon...

when your league comes back, if there is an opening I would like to get back into this. I had gotten out of watching wrestling for a while but with the quarantine I have started watching again. Plus I love NXT and AEW so much that it got me back into WWE.
Thanks

If there's not an opening I'm happy to split ownership with Wiggs. Heck, I'd split with him even if there is an opening.

As far as the separate Attitude era draft we’ve got planned... Trying to convince one of my friends to join so that would pit as at 5, I was shooting for 6, but I’d settle for at least 5. Im going to make this “Rotisserie” style so the high overall scorer at the end will be the winner (no playoff matchups).
