Posted by: Tree - Donor [15954918] Fri, Oct 10, 2003, 06:33

i've started one - need a couple more people...would like to start a slooooooooow draft tomorrow, if i can find a randomizer...

essentially, you only get 3 keepers. :O) that may change from year to year, but we're gonna try it with 3...

if you want in, email me....

peace,

I more guy... I really wanna make some draft picks already. :)

Tree, what are you doing up at 6:30 AM and posting threads about Yahoo Hoops... I just went to bed at that hour after a marathon of EA NHL Hockey and its AWESOME Dynasty mode... I don't even like hockey that much and I was all over it.

No need for a randomizer.

I will just pick the names out of a hat Tree... I don't think it really matters all that much because each draft position has its own advantages.

What makes the dynasty mode so great for nhl?

Just bought Tiger Woods 2004 and it has an awesome career mode as well.

Donkey, my buddy and our fellow Wrestling league manager Adam H. said he can't put that Tiger Woods game down.

The roster of features performs strongly. An intriguing Dynasty mode puts you in the GM’s shoes as you set ticket prices, practice lengths, and player contracts while amassing points that let you upgrade everything from the team bus to the legal staff. It’s very dense and challenging in an RPG-like way, but it should appeal to fantasy-league enthusiasts.

from Gamepro

It is almost like Hockey Tycoon or something like that... team morale is affected by - a long practice after a loss? or a day off?- but if you don't practice then they might lose skills points by not sharpening them so to speak.

Experience points earn you credits you can use for things such as better travel (badass airplanes), better locker rooms (add a sauna or better trainers to help injured players recover quicker)...

you even improve your office (which has your character sitting in it while you make trades/FA's etc) by doing well and recieveing experience points or gifts from higher ups like new desks and pictures for your office wall and awards etc.

I could go on and on, but those are some basic points. Oh yeah, and the hockey part of it is good too as you would expect from EA. They cleaned up some of the control problems and puck handling problems of last year.

all that and my favorite band (and the best) on the whole planet - Brand New - has a song in it.
