Subject: Anyone interested in O'Haire/Orton
Posted by: kev
- [3155515] Sat, Nov 08, 2003, 13:56
Im willing to part with Orton/O'Haire for a package of more consistant scorers coming back. I basically have 4 wrestlers getting me points, and I need more. |

Mike D- i didn't send a counter because if you were looking for Eddie in return for those 2 I problem don't have much to offer you. But let me take a look at your roster.

Mike D- I am not sure I want to give up Eddie or Show for Tajiri. And I don't think anyone else on my roster is worthy of that trade at this point.
I have interest in Kane though. Anyone you would want in return?

Interesting. That 2nd guy would have to pretty good though, eh? RVD is 3rd in points. Tajiri is 7th. Kane is Kane. ;)

I always get confused about our rosters----do they expire on Saturday each week? Or Sunday? Cuz' that may impact my trade offer.

When we have a pay per view and set our roster on Sat, it is valid for Sun, so I would say that it runs from Sun to Sat.

Confusing stuff. We'll blame it on the Hen.
Thanks guys. kev, if my deal is the one you pick, I'd probably want Tajiri's PPV match for 11/16----but, we could make the deal effective the following week, even if it was consumated today. Let me know bro.

Obviously, that's a rule that we've enforced very leniently, if at all. I know that I usually wait until Sunday to set my roster and I don't believe I'm usually the last one to do so.

True MITH. Not a big deal under normal circumstances, but with a possible trade in the works (for a few of us), it becomes key.

Blue Hen is too busy explaining why he's called Blue Hen...it's because his preferred feminine name, Blue Bitch, was a bit to risque for the Rotoboard censors.
seriously, the 11:50 saturday night time was set because saying midnight saturday seemed to confuse people.
for all intents and purposes, the "active week" runs from sunday to saturday, meaning that if there's a PPV, those are the first points scored in the week...hopefully that clarifies a bit...
i.e. PPV, Raw, Smackdown....*NOT* Raw, Smackdown, PPV.

So if I accept a trade today, PPV points for Orton will be mine or the other guys?
It's important, because the trade I am going to take has no PPV people.

That would depend on the stips you work out with whoever you are trading with. I'll tell you that if you are considering dealing with me I am happy to make the deal official at the time that is most convenient for you.

Agree with MITH----depends on the stips you agree to with your trading partner. Shouldn't be hard, but needs to be done, nonetheless.

After trying to figure out who is going where, and what brand, Raw or Smackdown I could use some help on, and what kind of guy I want on my team, I have decided to take Wiggs trade of Garrison Cade and Stacy Keibler.
I would like this trade to happen after the PPV, but before RAW, if it is okay with Wiggs....

Reasoning....
Once the Cade/Keibler and Tajiri/Jazz trades came in, they were the 2 I was debating between.
I took Cade/Keibler just based on Cade's future with the company. I hope to hold onto him. Keibler has always been my favourite chick, so that helped too. Even with Test out, she should find a place on TV.

so wait, if I accept this offer I would lose the points out of Orton at the PPV and I would lose any points out of keibler and cade on Raw?
Also, Kev, who will you be waiving in this deal, since it is 2 for 1?

The week begins Sunday, so your statement would not be correct wiggs.

you are recieving O'Haire as well
Wiggs- you will also be gaining Orton's points on Raw...
But it is a stipulation we can discuss. I can't see it being worthwhile to put this trade through this week. But I am willing to do whatever the rules stipulate.
Looking at the rules, it looks like the week starts beginning on Sunday....
If no mid week trades are allowed, then I will give over Orton for the PPV.

Kev, I will accept your deal. My thoughts were that Cade should be getting a huge push, possibly a title shot in the near future, but It will be great to have 3 of the 4 members of evolution. Its a done deal.

wiggs hit it on the head...
While Rikishi is a fan favourite, I doubt you will see any push for him with how his contract situation was handled, and with the eye surgery. Trish is a great commodity, but from all I have read, Cade is going to get a big big push. I also read of a turn in the near future, and title belts. All this led me to take him.
I felt out of all the wrestlers named, Cade would come the closest to Orton in points, and Stacey should give me promo points most weeks.

I think Wiggs just won this season, hands down, even if Angle really is done. Goldberg, Batista, Flair and now Orton for two of his three lowest scorers thus far. If the Angle rumor turns out to be false, his keeper situation will be pretty unstoppable, too, assuming Goldberg remains his top scorer.

man, and i offered Chavo and Yang...somehow that doesn't equate to Cade and Stacey...hmmmm...
also, to clarify something said earlier:
I would like this trade to happen after the PPV, but before RAW, if it is okay with Wiggs....
can't be done. the wrestler can only be active for one team for that week. you choose him saturday night, he's yours all week.

I wouldn't question Kev's reasoning. We all have differing ideas regarding plot directions and weretlers' potential and values. Personally, I think Basham/A Train was by far the best offer on the table, so good in fact that I think it proably would have been to much to hand over for Orton/O'Haire.

I felt it might be too much, but in this case both Orton and O'Haire were next on my queue at the time that Kev took them. I'm perfectly content to stick with Basham and A-Train. Was just looking at moving one of my tag team bodies.

I wouldn't question anyone's judgement on these matters, as there is little evidence to show that the actual talent of the wrestlers is any more of an indicator of their potential success than the nonsensical whims of management. If there was, and Rikishi Kevin Nash would have spent the last 3 years selling used cars and Stevie Richards and Tommy Dreamer would be solid midcarders.

Tree- I just don't have faith in Chavo...at all. Plus, I needed a Raw figure on my team.
I really think Cade will perform great...I thought he was the best wrestler on the table. He is already getting a push.
