I have considered digging up one of these. I would like to be able to get the PPVs and still avoid a ton of cost. Anybody use one of these? Or know a good place to find one? |

I had one in my old house, wish I still had one. Looking for a digital one myself.

They use to be abundant on the web, Farn, though I'd have to search for them.

not sure who to trust though...
I got mine (which I no longer have) from a guy I knew in college. I was at his place watching the PPV's and he got one for me when I mentioned my interest (and probably took a cut for himself) but at least I knew it was gonna work.
All these internet sites seem suspect to me.
I am also looking to hook up my PS2 with a ModClip or whatever its called nowadays so I can play burned games... another project. Maybe we can all invest in both items and get a group rate. :)

hahaha, I am all for the group rate. My guess is a few other wrestling fans here would be in for a box as well.
I dont' want to tinker with my PS2 though. From what I understand if it ever needs service Sony will totally ignore you if anything that isn't made by Sony is in it or been used with it. So I avoid anything that isn't theirs.

Farn, I used to have a cable box, but a neighbor was caught with one so i ditched my asap. They figured he had it for about 1 year, they then added up the total amount of movies, and events he could have ordered in that time and added some other fine to it and he ended up in some major trouble. I want to say his fine was close to 100,000 dollars and he spent like 6 months in jail. I dont know if this case was more severe then others, but i know it was severe enough that we no longer have a cable box. It just wasnt worth it.

Bars are a pretty good way to see PPVs without much cost. They usually don't charge any kind of cover any more, since there aren't as many fans as there used to be. In fact, some bars are almost totally empty, which is kind of like watching the PPV at home. Also, you might meet some like-minded friends at bars, and then you can split the cost of future PPVs.
I think WWE.com has a list of bars that carry PPVs, but I don't think it's exhaustive.

Let's just say here and now that RotoGuru.com, its owner or users do not in any way promote or condone the use of illegal means to secure programming.
