wiggs continues to make Isiah Thomas look like he is sitting on his hands.
He unloads Flair this week only to watch him lose his title tonight. And Goldberg is unlikely to be around past Mania. So basically he got Benoit for a couple of guys who have 1 month left of scoring points.
Wiggs- you should write a book like Billy Beane. I could certainly use the advice as to how to pull these trades off.

actually, as much as Wiggs should be commended for GMing the heck out of us this season, i think it's a lot of people not following that adage about trading - do what you can to improve your team, but don't make the guy you're trading with so good that you can't catch him.

On the flip side Tree, I don't totally believe in that. No one made a deal with wiggs without believing they were helping their own team. Also, wiggs had to have some luck fall his way with certain storylines. Hindsight is always 20-20.
As a season gets further along, it certainly makes sense to spy the people around/above you, and to be careful dealing with them, moreso than those out of contention, as you noted. But early on, even mid-stream, I only see that as a way to limit your options via excluding other teams. And it can cost you more than it can cost them.
What if it is you that makes the better deal? You improve AND hurt you chief competitor. The knockout blow, if you will.

ROFL. Translation to post #1: Species, YOU DOPE!
In regards to trading, sometimes you have to deal with the devil to improve yourself the most. I had to make a deal with the #3 team in my main roto league last year in order to secure the pennant. He staved off someone else for 3rd, so we both benefitted, even though he closed the gap on me....gotta do what ya gotta do sometimes.
That being said, last night SUCKED? RVD and Booker? geeez.

RVD has more pts than HHH by quite a bit, I think. At least as of the last Standings Thread. I may end up keeping HHH.......
