as it stands now (from the Dead Thread)... the votes are 2-0 in favor of contracting Sponges team.
Wanted to seperate this into its own thread in case anyone didn't particpate in the other thread where the discussion began.
A tentative deadline of the end of the month (March 1st) was put on this - to see whether Sponge shows up and has sincere interest in continuing. And I think he needs to appear on his own without anyone going out of their way to remind him.

I wanted to contract 2 actually, cause I hadn't seen Kev around - but he supplied a good explanation of what he has been up to - (he doesn't really need to make any roster changes, so why bother, waiting for new season etc...)
kev actually posted this in one of the roster threads... so I would say he is accounted for.
I would like to also apologize for my absense of late. I am really busy. I'm fighting with my girl constantly, and just getting used to my new job.
That, and the fact I am lucky to have 3 or 4 active guys every week, and I'm just waiting to start fresh, and not trade Wiggs any members of Evolution. :)
So its only Sponges squad left to address.
2-0 right now.
I guess we are looking for a solid majority here.
Also the place to nominate potential replacements in the event we don't contract.

I'm all for that.
And to further explain, life is crazy for me right now, and I'm lucky to have a team full of guys who are on every week.
I am interested in getting a new squad of guys. First season was more fun because I had a team full of guys I liked. This year, I traded away for guys I like, and they ended up basically being demoted.
I will be back with vengance in season 3!

Everyone seems in favor of contraction. We will consider the team officially dead and the contents of the roster available I guess when the draft starts for Season III (can you believe we are headed into Season III!!)
IF a suitable replacement is found say before Wrestlemania - and we all approve - then we can revisit the idea of putting the squad back together and handing over the keys.

If anyone DOES have a person considering it and if we need some more incentives/ammunition to lure them in - i.e. the No. 1 pick
I mentioned it in the other thread regarding my moving down - I would like to trade with the Dead Team for someone who would outscore the rest of my crappy squad (and would be subsequently given back up as my top scorer)- using the same prosposal that you all mulled over - swap 1st round picks, I drop down a few spots etc..
that would have to be approved by all obviously, as that team is esentially like the Expos right now...

I emailed a few of you who I had addresses for... and I didn't want to post this in the main baseball forum or with its own thread that just anyone would see... anyone from this league is invited to join a Yahoo baseball league I am slowly forming.. the draft is a week from Tuesday - need about 5 more teams, so let me know you intend to play and sign on up.
