I have no problem with making that change, but I have to say that the difference between mine and Kevs is that mine was done before the match. It kind of sucks to have a match added during the show.

I am not watching the PPV obviously, but I will be at RAW tommorow....nice! 4th row floor!

If I was too late, I don't mind not changing it.

re posts 9 - 13:

i am against the changing of the rosters for several reasons -

1. our "official" deadline is 12 midnight on the saturday/sunday of the week - we've been fairly loose with that, still that is the official rule.

2. wigg's post came at 8:30, and kev's at 10:05 - in both cases *AFTER* the PPV began - i do not see how we can allow those changes - matches getting added at the last second are just things that happen - that's why i've kept Maven on my active roster, in case he makes he re-debut.

3. if we're gonna allow changes after an event begins, i'd like to go back a couple of weeks and put Eugene Dinsmore in my starting lineup the week he made his debut on Raw.

There have been one or two instances when we have allowed people to set their roster after the week's action has started and no one said anything. But I don't believe we have ever allowed anyone who has posted a roster to go back and change their starters - especially after they knew they were guaranteed points from the wrestlers they initially benched. I don't think this is a precedent that we should start now, so I agree with Tree. If we're going to start allowing people to change their rostersafter the fact, it opens up a giant can of worms. We'd have to allow the practice from now on. The first result is that it weakens one of the key strategic elements of the game - who to start, who to bench. This would also mean that Raw wrestlers suddenly become significantly more valuable than SD, since we would conceivably allow lineups to change in the middle of Raw, but not two days later after the SD tapings come out. I can only think of bad results from allowing such an action.

Yeah, I don't see how that can be allowed really.

The only exceptions considered reasonable should be at least before the whole PPV starts.

Agreed, never in favor of such late moves, and kind of feel we should tighten up the guidelines in general for when they need to really be finalized (cuz' it sometimes is hazy).

agreed as well. I would say that once the first event of the week has started its too late.

Wasn't Sunday at midnight our initial cut off point? I could be wrong.

Yes, but we've never enforced that. I really think the start of the first show of the week (Raw unless there is a PPV) would be much closer to what we have been going by. If we're talking about enacting a more stringently enforced rule, I would suggest the start of Raw on non-PPV weeks and the start of Heat (or Velocity in the case of a SD PPV) for weeks with a PPV as the cutoffs.

Not that I really care that much, but let me get this straight.

Since I followed the rules and posted my line up before the midnight deadline I am not allowed to change my roster? If I would have waited til 7:30 like mith and species did then I would be allowed to have put grenier in? I think that is a very bad rule. We have said right along if a line up wasnt in then it wouldnt count, but we have allowed things to happen, I dont see that the difference is here. I posted a line up before the match took place.

wiggs - you posted your roster well after the midnight deadline - we all did.

the first post in this thread was 9 am sunday, a full 9 hours after the official deadline.

the absolute latest the deadline should be should be 6 p.m. eastern on sundays - once Heat airs, there should be no roster changes allowed.

The primary problem with this paticular issue is not in the philosophical parsing of official rules. The problem is that Wiggs wanted to capitalize on new knowledge that his benched player would be scoring unexpected points later in the evening. To my knowledge, our failure to enforce the official rules in the past had not previously led to any circumstances that violated the spirit and the structure of the league. This has now changed and if anyone cares to take any measures to prevent any recurrance to such circumstances, I endorse changing the deadline to the beginning of the first show of the week. During weekswhere there is a Sunday PPV, then I believe the deadline should be at the start of the show before the deadline (Heat, usually). In that case, Species would have been too late to set his roster and he would have been locked into his lineup from the previous week. Btw it's entirely irrelevant, but I set my roster at 5:30 yesterday, one-and-a-half hours before Heat started.

Heat starts at 7pm est on Sundays. And I disagree. I think the start of Heat is a fine deadline for weeks with a Sun PPV, but for regular weeks, what's the problem with the start of Raw being the cutoff? Traditionally we frequently don't get most of the rosters in until Monday anyhow.

FWIW wiggs I had no changes in my starters from my previous lineup. Just posting it to include Mordecai on the bench.

I agree with MITH #24 - it's one thing when someone changes a lineup without regard to any new, post-deadline information. It's another when you get info that you know leads to points post-deadline.

That being said, the rule ought to be clarified for PPV weeks.

Tree 23,
The reason I said I posted mine before was because I didnt plan any changes. Yes Technically it wasnt typed in with no changes on time.

I honest to god dont care if I cant make the changes. I totally understand your ruling. I just thought I might be able to do it since there was a change to the show and I did it before the match took place.

I was doing the same thing as Wiggs. A match was added, I had no idea what time the PPV started or when the match was, so I changed my lineup.

Reading the highlights, it really doesnt matter though, Cade got me points and seems to be heading for a push also, so I dont mind.

Cade would get turn points too.

Either way, I'm getting the same ammount of points.

I have never changed my lineup late, and wont again. I wasn't trying to mess with anyone.

Kev is doing pretty good in this league right now.. Beniot has given him a wiggsesque turnaround.

I hope I can do the same - and have certainly been pretty good, but my plans were much more long term. But I keep getting one after another coming back from injury, so they just gotta keep that going.
