Word has it that Brian Lawler, better known as Grandmaster Sexay, was released last night at RAW.
As I reported yesterday, he was given a warning by the agents and was fined for arriving late at the 5/8 show in Lafayette. It was decided yesterday to “nip this in the butt” and release him as soon as plausible to the schedule.
It should be noted that Lawler was advertised as competing in the 20-man battle royal next week, so the decision to release him wasn’t made in advance but was sort of spontaneous.
From what I was told, his showing up late was not taken well by most of the talent. Some felt he shouldn’t have been brought back in the first place, due to his tendency to be somewhat uncompromising at times.
We now know that Lawler has been in contact with NWA-TNA officials and has informed them on what has taken place.
Note that WWE has not officially announced Brian Lawler’s termination, but people close to him say that he is telling everyone that he has been let go by the company.
