0 Subject: Royal Rumble/Battle Royal Scoring

We need to get these 2 things sorted out, especially with this week's Battle Royal coming.

I know its been discussed but I am not sure its ever been finalized.

Anybody want to take the reins and try to come up with a good scoring system for one or both? Battle Royal is obviously more important right now but eventually we will need the Rumble too.

I think the rules for the Royal Rumble are set. They were proposed before liast year's Rumble, voted on and passed. I agree there should be Battle Royale rules. IINM a Battle Royale will traditionally start with all the competetors in the ring at once, so we can't just apply the same set of rules, as the Rumble points are partially weighed depending on entrance rank. No time to get into this now.

how about something like each guy gets 15 points for being in the rumble then award points accordingly.
Like 16 points for the first one out
17 for second
18 for 3rd
and so on,

Then reward the winner with some extra points like maybe 15 giving that person a total of 50 points for winning.

This is just an idea, I am willing to bend.

Maybe 5 extra points? Meaning 40 for the winner, 34 for 2nd place? If the Royale turns out to be the ME, maybe we could just give ME points to the final 5 or so, so that we don't have all 20 people in the match get 25 points or more? Just a thought.

Considering it is just a RAW show, and not a PPV like the Rumble is, I do agree that only the last 5 participants should recieve ME points.

For the scoring, I think that regular match points should be given to the other 15 wrestlers. The final 5 wrestlers should be given main event points, with the winner getting "winning points"

All in all, it is just another match on RAW. The winner will be rewarded by a Main Event match at the next PPV, unless they make the HBK/HHH match the main event.

So....

Normal match points to the first 15 eliminated
Main Event points to the last 5 in the ring
Main Event winning points to the winner.

I think that way it is simple, and still rewards those left late in the Battle Royal.

the hard part about that was we awarded main event points for everyone that participated in the rumble and i believe the next next battle royal also, I dont know if we can change that.

My point is, the Rumble is something huge. There is a PPV dedicated to it, and by all means, a lot of peoples favourite PPV.

A Battle Royal is something very different.

I don't believe the winner of the battle royal should recieve a ton of points for winning a match on Raw.

Even so, the last battle royal I believe was in the last season. If we find a concrete scoring system for this before RAW on Monday, I don't see why changing it is bad.

Hmm. We don't know for sure that it will be the Main Event. Perhaps participants that get tossed out early don't deserve a full 15 points? What if the first person tossed out gets 11, second person 12 and so on? Ths way, the winner gets 30, like he would in a regular match, and if it is the ME, we can give full ME points to the last 5 (legally) remaining in the ring. So the most points that anyone will get - just like in any non-title TV Main Event - will be 40 points.

What if Gillberg comes in for 13 seconds and gets tossed. You're going to treat that like a standard loss?

I'd find a medium between shaking Vince's hand backstage and a standard loss. Then give ME points to the last five and win points to the winner. I think. I'm not sure.

every rumble seems to get to a point where there are like 4 guys left and they all stop look around and its like it starts all over - and those were the only ones who had a chance in the first place - we should give it to those guys, whoever that works out to be. The other 15 guys always seem to be just a formality and sorted through really quickly.

I think that is something that can be deciphered easily and if it happens to be unclear, we go with a generic 5. Flex scoring with supervision from the scorer and input from the others.

definately against that idea. You can't just arbitrarily determine in advance who had a chance to make it to the end. Each guy entered in the Royale or Rumble needs to be rewarded with points to some degree.

And yeah, we need to determine this within the next 24hrs.
