Kev and I have come to terms on a trade.
I get Chris Benoit and Steven Richards

He gets Booker T and Rey.

Kev please confirm.

another great move by wiggs.

this allows him to keep randy orton, who is now the reigning world heavyweight champion.

well done wiggs, you have already made a move towards a 3rd championship.

Im confirming.

And as much as I messed up early with a trade in season 1, I feel this trade does nothing but benifit me, and move me up the standings. Benoit was my whole team. Now I am able to keep one high scorer, and add another in the first round.

while we have no formal trade deadline (unfortunately), i think we have to think seriously about whether a deal like this violates the spirit of the game.

this particular deal will have NO AFFECT on scoring for this season.

i am not accusing anyone of anything improper, but i don't like this deal one bit.

well, I agree with Tree and Kev.

Kev, this trade does help you. I totally agree. You definately need more than one scorer.

But I also understand what Tree is saying. Basically this allows wiggs to have another solid team next season. Richards is crap but at the very worst a 6th scorer. The key is that he keeps Orton, which we all thought wasn't going to happen. His dynasty had a chance to die after Thursday's Smackdown. Now there is a solid chance it will live on.

But I can't agree with not allowing the trade. We have no deadline and it violates no rules. Its not lopsided either. Yeah, it sucks that wiggs will once again have a good team but he shouldn't be punished for that. We just have to hope that at some point the other 7 managers collectively realize that keeping his team strong doesn't help our own.

Yeah, Kev keeps feeding him! Stop that Kev!

Great trade for wiggs, and shrewdly done.

I was happy about the trade myself... I thought it actually hurt Wiggs by making his last keeper much weaker - and I know it'll be Sylvan - but the way the tag ranks are, that guy could disappear tomorrow, Booker and Rey won't be disappearing. He had 6 solid scorers - and now he is down to 5 (Benoit given up obviously). AND his (and mine for that matter) first round picks are gonna suck. Which just reminds me how bad my team will be next season. Ugh.

Booker has been rumored to retire.......but that may not happen.

his #1 pick won't be bad. There is usually enough talent to get through a full round. It can't be bad really. Each teams loses its top scorer. So therefore a top scorer will be available when his pick comes up.

right off the bat - an injured Hardy is one of those top scorers... so he is going to get the first of the NON top scorers.

i guess i don't like the deal because, as i said, it violates the spirit of the league. if there was even one more week of scoring left, i'd have less of an issue with it. but, as there are no weeks left, i think it sets a bad precedent.

so we need to establish a trade deadline then I guess. perhaps a couple weeks before the last PPV.

oh, good point Tree. But would it be any different than making the trade after Smackdown but before keepers are declared? Not really. And nobody has ever had a problem with that.

I know its hard to see this trade cause we all know wiggs has once again made a great move but he did nothing wrong. It really isn't against the spirit of anything either. The spirit of this league is activity (and trading in particular right Mike D?). So that's all he did.

I should point out that wiggs is a Yankees fan. He knows all about skirting the fine lines of rules, paying the luxury tax, and cruising to another title run. :)

The first trade Wiggs offered me (I hope he doesn't mind me sharing this), was Booker/Grenier for Benoit/scrub. I told him I couldn't pull the trigger- he asked what it would take- I said Rey and Booker. Then he offered Booker, Grenier, Rey and his #1 for Benoit, 2 wrestlers of my choosing, and my #1, which, again, I didn't take.

So I think while people are thinking Wiggs ran away with this trade, it didn't come easily. This has been on the table for I think 3 weeks now....sure, he gets to keep Orton, which just hurts his first round choice even more. On the other hand, I actually have 2 solid scorers, depending on my first rounder, and a much needed solid Smackdown scorer.

Overall, I am not disappointed in this trade. I knew I was giving Wiggs the overall top scorer for next season by letting him keep Orton, but he also loses depth.

I had the top scorer this season, and look what it got me.

kev, I think the deal is fine for you as well. But the focus has clearly been on wiggs since he's been kickin' some serious butt for 2 seasons, and the Orton thing.

I have no issues with this deal. More power to him for finding a fit that allows him to keep Orton. It makes sense for kev too -- and yes we're all just jealous that wiggs is kicking our asses.

no point in making a new thread....

Spike, Molly, and Regal all available if anybody feels they need a keeper.

Just looking for a last round draft pick. I could give you one of those 3 and my last round pick for your last round pick and a stiff (don't make me an offer if your last pick is below mine, which i think is only wiggs). Just looking to move up a few picks in the draft.

I guess it wouldn't be right to poo-poo on any of this now, Tree in post 3 is 100% correct.

We absolutely NEED a trade deadline for Season IV and beyond.

Farn - I have interest, but could it be Victoria instead? Since I have the #1 pick that round it's quite a fall for me. Let's talk.

I just got back in town tonight so I have missed all this back and forth. I just want everyone to know that I have been trying to make this deal for quite some time. I had discussed it with Species and G.O. trying to figure out the best way to make this work.

I definately feel it will be a great trade for both of us. He was going to lose Benoit anyways. Now he loses booker and he gets to keep Rey. I think Kevs team needed more then 1 scorer anyways.

Also as far as week 19 the top scorers are
benoit
booker
bubba
kane
hardy
bradshaw
HHH
Batista
y2j
edge

Hardy is hurt, bradshaw who knows what will happen with him.

I think with the 10th pick and not making this trade my team would be hurting.
