0 Subject: Waivers and Trades

I need a little guidance regarding the league's current rules for waiving and trading players.

Waivers
I've checked out quite of a bit of past references regarding waiving and picking up players and am a little unclear. Are waivers available for all owners at any time during the season? What is the proper process of determining who gains the rights of any said player? Are waiver periods periodic or a weekly occurance?

Trades
Can trades be made at any time during the season? Can trades involve future draft picks? Is there a limit on how many trades can be made? Can there be more than two owners involved in a trade? Who needs to be notified when a trade is consumated?

Thanks for any assistance you can give me regarding these issues.

Bond, I hope I can answer your questions.

Waivers:
We start with reverse order from the draft for a waiver order. Once we get started (tomorrow) we will start a waiver thread and if you want someone you claim them. If no one ahead of you claims that person in 24 hours he is yours. Always post who you want and who you are dropping. Also, once you do officially claim someone, you must post in the transaction thread so everyone knows.

Trades:
Trades can be made anytime. If you want to make a trade you can post it for everyone to see, or you can send a personal email to the person. You can trade future picks, farn and GO traded 1st rounders last season before the season ever started. I dont think we have every had a 3 team trade, but I dont see why it wouldnt be allow. Once a trade is done you post it in the thread (there are no vetoes of trades in this league) and it is offical.

I hope this helps. Anyone else wants to chime in feel free.

I figured we'd use the Waivers and Transactions thread to post our claims, so that we'd have one thread for everything. Like I said in that thread, I know there must be a reason for why we went with a thread to declare waivers and a seperate thread to officially document waiver and trade transactions, but I'm not sure that it wasn't just extra work. If not, no matter.

Re the request for info on this topic, I would add that one thing that might cause some confusion is that unlike other roto-style fantasy games, all players that are not owned by someone are considered to be on waivers. There is no waiver-clearing process to eventually become just a free agent. So anytime you want to pick up an unowned wrestler, you must put in a claim for him and hope that no one with a higher priority than you claims him within 24 hours.

To confirm: If I were to waive someone and then claim someone else, I have to wait 24 hours before my claim is considered official (providing no one else above me claimed that same person), correct?

If and when I do, does the waiver priority shift change and I fall to the bottom of the heap--so to speak?

Yes, literally, 24 hours by the time of your post. Rotoguru is the official clock of Fantasy Wrestling! Yes, the waiver priority shifts, and you would post the new order. Check our prior threads if you need to-----

Hey Bond -

Yes.......it takes 24 hours for a claim to be official. If you are trumped by someone with a higher priority, your claim is nullified and the waived wrestler is not waived by you. The 24-hour clock restarts for person who trumped your claim.

After ANY successful waiver claim, the claiming party goes immediately down to the bottom, in exact order of when the claim took effect. For example, there have been many times where claims for different wrestlers happened within hours of each other. The first claim processed goes down to 10th, but hours later that person will be 9th and the second claim processed goes down to 10th.

Ok, thanks for the assistance and the thread. Guess like most things, I'll have to experience it first before I understand it completely. One other thing: Is it legal to renege on a claim?

Perfectly legal - so long as you do it during the 24 hour waiver period. Once the 24 hours is up, the claimed wrestler now belongs to you and if you want your discarded wrestler back you must put in a new waiver claim.

Ok thanks MITH. One other thing while I'm thinking about it. When we set our rosters for the week, our rosters are set for BOTH Raw and Smackdown, correct? If I wanted to waive a RAW wrestler after RAW but before Smackdown in order to pick up a Smackdown wrestler, I'm guessing that's illegal, correct?

Correct. Once rosters are set, they are set for both RAW and Snoredown. You may make a claim ANY time, it just won't take effect until the next roster deadline.

Remember, if there is a PPV that week, the roster deadline is a day earlier, 7PM on Sunday.
