This may wind up being for only me and Mike D since we are always trying to trade... but I wanted an official Trade Talk thread.

once again - I am so sorry MITH - this should be it for a while now that I have my Smackdown guy - barring trying to pick someone up on the waiver wire.

I actually may try to drop Val/Gangrel this week so you can do all my roster changes all in one week and it will be over with...

Dude, no need for apologies! This league is better when the managers are active. Trading makes it more fun and the changes to my file really aren't hard or time consuming as long as all of the info I need is in one place. Believe me, I'm much happier with a league that is highly active.

Very interesting trade, by the way. A proven commodity for someone with less certainty but unknown potential and thus a higher ceiling.

Question, Should this trade will be reflected for the week 5 shows? As far as I know, we don't have any waiting period for trades to go through, and they just go into effect for the next roster deadline. In this case, thst'a tonight. If the trading parties want to wait a week for the trade to take effect, I can't think of any reason why they shouldn't be able to, so you guys should decide what to do. If it's going into effect tonight, remember to post your new starting rosters.

in a way its like a 3 way deal - so if we get all the changes in the same week it should make the scoring less confusing - at least for my squad.

Tomko wouldn't be on a different team 3 straight weeks...

this is very true... if Tomko turns into the next Batista - and he very well could - then I will be kicking myself.
But I didn't want all my eggs in one basket (all RAW talent AND had Christian/Tomko together).

Kind of cool right now I have Christian, DVon, Matt Hardy - one half of all those great teams. I think thats really cool.

Are you noticing all this trading activity? You do realize you are no longer the top dog of trading in this league right?

Congrats to Great One. That is quite an accomplishment to take that title from Mike D.

Great One is more than a worthy Trading foe. In fact, he and I have made several a deal over the years---in a variety of sports, and leagues. I will certainly give props to him for a job well done.

Me, I'm simply looking forward to the next draft.....

and on a side note - I found a site that I really like with no pop-ups!

not sure if anyone else mentioned if before, but I have been very happy with it.

the only other guy I like would be RVD. And I am doubting you want to do Sly/RVD for Christian. Perhaps you feel you have bodies to make that move - so it may make sense to do it. I am kind of getting attached to Christian though, I must say...

Other that that I would want Jindrak more than Maven anyway - being that I am the Natural Born Thrillers and meant to draft him in first place. Oh well...

no problem... all trade talk no matter where it goes gives me something to look forward to!

anyone with someone on their bench that they are frustrated with that would want the Jazz and Mack duo?
I just figure if we do a trade - that will cause one side or the other to get going. I know it seems to all of us that when we trade someone they get a push or show up on tv or whatever...

Just trying to stir the pot a little.

Masters has been wrestling dark matches before Heat as well. Great One and I are both high on him (I used my #2 priority to take him from GO). Also, there isn't that great a difference in production between Trish and Christian.

I'm not that high on Viscera, so if anyone thinks he was signed to play a role on Smackdown, I'm happy to entertain offers, perhaps to be packaged with Reigns or Regal for an upgrade of one of those guys.

my rationale
I was losing Christian anyway - so losing him or Trish is irrelvant at this point - and actually allows me to trade for a talent (i.e. HBK or UT) who will have less than her (very valuable) high point total enabling me to actually keep them… so to be able to upgrade Viscera to Masters was a great bonus.

He has indeed been winning at almost every house show. I have read that he also has a great look and amazing physique and I think I read somewhere he is rumored to be aligning with Simon Dean as kind of a protégé of sorts. Like "here is an example of what my Simon-System can do for you! etc…" but we all know plans change quickly, so who knows. Maybe HHH will replace Batista with him!

That being said I am still trying to put together a couple 2-1's myself so if anyone has any ideas, email me at work.

man.. Taker has been on like 4 teams in 3 weeks lol!.. good trade MITH and kev continues to add depth like crazy which is good for him. I know it was tough to part with Reigns cause we both agree that guy is pretty solid.

And our season gets more interesting too with MITH LOADED and down by 500. Can he rope him in now?! If Daivari starts wrestling like he is supposed to I think that would be the difference with him your 6th starting spot...

MITH keeping Rey/Shelton/Christian is pretty good and I know we all think he is on his way to a title next year - but despite the fact that Wiggs thinks his first rounder has no value - MITH traded away his number 1 to be able to do this deal - and his first pick isn't until roughly 19/20 so you are looking at the top of his team and he won't be adding any big gun to the top of it.

I need to mention that my grand plan may have hit a big snag in the fact that Hassan is absolutely on fire and will probably win every week cause.. well.. I guess they need to put him on a roll. If he catches and passes Victoria I am screwed.

I am gonna have to think this through. Hopefully Victoria gets into a fued with Trish because, well there are no other women left so why not?!! That should allow her to hold on. Worst case scenario is she wouldn't be a bad keeper anyway for that exact reason.

If anyone is interested in adding someone such as this new Todd Shane guy as their fourth keeper and can offer someone that should finish the season ahead of Hassan please make an offer and can work a swap. Adding to Shane's value is the minimal amount of points you would carry over when determining keepers. I guess the other option is move Hassan for someone that wouldn't outscore Victoria which is tricky. Only guys I see that might fit the bill would be Bubba and the two guys I already have in Hardy/Masterpiece. Anyway... just thinking outloud here.

I took the RVD trade not reading the spoilers, not knowing he was hurt.

Trading Rey gives me a chance to still have RVD as my top scorer. Even if UT passes him, my keepers are much better than they would have been before the trades.

Instead of having 2 top scorers again next year, I will have one top scorer, and 2 to 3 guys getting significant air time.

This isn't exactly rocket science.

The likely free agent casualties, as the league currently stands:

Wiggs: Orton
MITH: HHH
Farn: Trish
Species: Benoit
Mike D: Booker/Eddie
Bond: Batista
Tree: Snitsky/HBK
Farn: Renee Dupree/Tyson Tomko/Kane
Kev: RVD
Great One: Victoria/Hassan/D'Von

going off the 4 you listed previously as being the worst of the top scorers list - but noting who is actually about to pass all of them it won't be so bad -
Trish - I would be happy with that as she will be the entire womens division with Lita gone. or maybe Hassan since he is about to rope in Victoria for me unfortunately and become my leader. Or whoever is about to pass the injured Eugene(Mean Gene unless Shawn gets rolling). Or Kane who is within 100 of Renee.
Really need the newest standings to come out with all these roster moves going down to get an idea of who will be extra after topscorers/keepers and to lay things out properly.

MITH, you are predicting an awful lot there.

Also, I dont consider Victoria, or Dupree or Snitsky as 1st rounders. Also We all know batista will be traded leaving Flair as the high scorer

RVD is injured and who knows when he will be coming back.

If you think the 9th over all pick is a good pick you are kidding yourself.

No. I think that as a list of likely free agent casualties, as the league currently stands it's pretty apparent.

We all know batista will be traded leaving Flair as the high scorer

Well Bond can speak for himself, but I'll tell you, I tried awful hard, and I don't know that at all.

If you think the 9th over all pick is a good pick you are kidding yourself.

Well I'm quite certain that I am not kidding myself and I'm getting tired of your harping on this issue. If you thought I was undervaluing Undertaker by so much, then you sould have made me an offer for him.

You know, its been an unwritten rule of this league that we try not to publicly speak negative about other people's wrestlers, so I'm interested in taking part in or reading through a discussion that includes any public analysis of anyone's overall value, especially with so may trade proposals flying around. So if you really feel the need to explore this issue in greater depth with me or Great One or whoever, please do so via email.

well lets say the 9 pick is Renee (though unfortunately for Goat, Kane is within 90 points) - the point I was trying to make is MITH won't even be adding someone decent like Renee to his core at this point. He mortgaged his initial depth for a core that he absolutely loves. But is only gonna be adding prospects thereafter.

anyway... i guess this just all comes down to our different weighing of value and really thats an individual opinion and the only thing I learned from my backstabbing whore of an ex-g/f is that opinions can't be wrong. They are opinions. Lets all hug. :)
