I thought I'd start a new thread since the last ones had multiples topics beneath it. I can across this article on the Internet and I was wondering if any else has heard of this before or puts any stock in it? My initial inclination is to call it BS.

Now, I've had my share of "unbelieveable" beats at PP and I've heard the horror stories of river flushes, but that's just my perceptions. I've never kept track of it statistically as the author of this article has.

So... do you think there is an algorithem? He doe smake one point: it is in PP's best interest to keep as many peopel intyhe game as possible to add up the rakes.

Just some food for thought:

Why would you rank J8s higher than Q8 suited, as his chart does.

I agree with your assessment that it is BS.
Bad beats could be considered a by=product of playing with bad players. Players call with hands that they shouldn't. You have AA and go all-in after the flop. You have the best hand at the time and your caller needs a miracle card to beat you. That miracle card has a chance to appear when you are called.

I don't think that you can call getting a pocket pairs "statistically impossible" Unlikely, maybe, I don't feel like doing the math at the moment, but 2 or 3 pocket pairs in a short span is not unheard of.

The biggest mistake I think people make of with AA or KK is not playing them correctly. It isn't fun when you lose with them, but when you limp into a hand hoping to slow play the AA and a BB happens to hit with 2 pair don't blame the cards because you were hoping for a bigger pay day than just ending up with the blinds.

Here's to hoping everyone of my opponents gets a hold of this article. My hourly rate would sky rocket.

But, what this guy is saying is that the website tricks or induces you by giving you AA or KK as a set up to get some of you money (fairly) redistributed. IE a guaranteed flush is waiting to bust you.

In a casino, you can see the cards, but how do you KNOW what the computer program can generate? Theoretically, it could generate different cards based on betting patterns. IE the devious c9omputer gives you AA and if you bet large it flops 3 spades, but if you bet small it flops 3 rags. Then if you bet again, it connects the rags!

The guy shows no data to back his claims. I could say that every 4th time you get aces they'll get cracked but without any data to back it up it means nothing. He mentions he compiled all the information from the best sources yet he doesn't list any of them. The article is worthless.

I saw a few studies where people had collected histories on x hundreds of thousands of hands and the card distributions were all within statistical normals.

Just do not think online sites need to cheat...the money flows in...too much risk if caught cheating. I know plenty of people who have withdrawn a lot of money from poker sites and continue to win.

Bad beats happen in poker...even when someone is a 95% favorite in a hand that means there is a 5% chance you will lose...sometimes it will happen.

I do not believe the online poker is rigged crowd...until someone shows me proof. This little word doc is pretty funny...I wish more people would use his strategy...folding AA preflop to a raise...lol...

I doubt that hold 'em would be worth rigging, but there are certainly Casinos that don't play fair, though outright rigging seems to usually be with casino games like blackjack.

More larger concern with hold 'em would be with the increased proliferation of bots.
