Hey all...

Just looking into getting Satellite Radio. Not sure which is better between XM and Sirius. Anyone have any comments? Do you own either?

I have Sirius, and I chose it primarily for one reason: NFL football. It gets every game, so, if you happen to be on the road on Sunday's in the fall, you don't miss a beat. It also gets NBA, NCAA, and NHL sports; plus the EPL if you're interested. So, if sports is a factor in your selection, I would go with Sirius. Plus, if you like Stern, he is only on Sirius.

I have sirius as well, the sportster. It is awesome. I got it with the home dock and a car dock. It was pretty simple to install it too.

Wiggs, did you do the car installation yourself? I had that professionally done. Home installation was simple, though.

I've got Sirius sportster and love it. Get Howard, NFL (all games on 2 channels! You get the home broadcast of each team), NHL, NBA. Rumors have MLB coming to Sirius this year, too (unconfirmed).

I got the car and boombox. I did the car installation myself. Took about 10-15 minutes and was very easy.

Thank God for this thread. The threads on the Sirius board are difficult to decipher. I was given an XM as a gift and decided to go with Sirius for Howard, NFL and NBA. I live in NE PA but can still grab Sox games off a Hartford station.
Anyway, I got the Sportster and subscribed last week and love it. The music choices are excellent.
How did you all work the installations? I have my antenna in a window but get about 80% reception and want to put it ouside but don't really know how to go about it. And if the car installation is easy, I would do it but right now I am leaning towards the professional installation.

For the home installation, did you drill a hole in the window frame or something? That's the type of detail I was looking for. Thanks in advance.

Yeah, I think I am definately leaning towards Sirius. The only thing I will miss is the lack of MLB games...

Other than that, I think Sirius has the advantage in every other facet.

Got a Sirius reciever for Christmas, the Xact 3 Visor to be specific. The car kit for it is essentially a clip for the sun visor, or you can screw it into the dash. Hooked the car antenna up myself, and just let it run on a FM frequency reciever, I think like 88.1. Like the visor because all I had to do was buy another antenna for my other car and it travels from car to car quite well.

One last question...

Probably on my way out to buy Sirius before the Florida roadtrip next weekend, but...Someone told me you can hook up the Starmate to the home kit and a pair of old computer speakers without the need of another radio. Is that true?
