Finally got around to watch this documentary. I must admit it was very good. It was very disturbing to watch.
I found the movie to be more about Treadwell's "manic" personality, or what appears to be a man trapped in his own "reality". I expected to see more about the plight of the brown bear, but instead realized most of that "plight" was created in Treadwell's mind. His paranoid mind seemed to torment him. He seemed to wax and wane from the personality of a "giddy-like" child to that of an "eco-terroist".
I feel the director, Wernor Herzog, did an excellent job splicing Treadwell's many hours of footage in to a montage that reflected Treadwell's uneasy mind.
Documentarys are my favorite genre. I recommend this one highly.

I also wanted to add how similar this story was to Jon Krakuer's novel: "Into the Wild" too.
