did you fix the european's elegibility to prizes' thing? you told us you were near to a positive end of the question but than we didn't hear anything from you, so?
if it's not fixed i think that you can't ignore how strong our european community has became on your site, as we won the league rank last year and actually have the lead in that rank again and in the overall single rank with me and tequila owning the team Porchetta and Cotoletta.
Can you please tell us how this question is going to end?
thanks, for this andfor all the great work you're doing this year.
bye.

Irri,
To summarise the standardised e-mail I got for winning the Eurogurupie baseball division:
Congrats.You won a prize.You live in the wrong place.You can't have it.Please play again.
No progress since soccer games. And while we keep playing what incentive do they have to shell out?
Don't let a minor issue like money distract you from your rocking start.

el tel, we clearly not deserved to be qualified. but we deserved to be at least in the uefa cup, while besiktas and sparta clearly played just defensive soccer. anyway, we're out of europe for this year and it's right, when you aren't able to beat such mediocre teams at home.....chelsky was clearly the best team in the group and deserved to win it.
what a shame nobody from tsn is able to reply to such a great community as the european one is....

Irri, FWIW, i was pretty shocked to see Lazio gone at the 1st hurdle - i thought they would be easily good enough to grab 2nd behind Chelsea. I was not so shocked to see Rangers and Celtic fall there also, although Rangers played really terribly against Panathanaikos. Chelsea however, look very dangerous. They have such a huge squad full of quality...no one will want to draw them in the knockout stages.

El Tel - I have Cat 1 England v Croatia tickets for Euro 2004 next year, and 1/4 final of Winner A (Spain/Portugal) vs Runner Up B (France/England). I would hope you are very jealous, unless of course, you got tickets yourself.

On the main point, it sucks if we aren't going to get prizes again this year. If we aren't, it would at least be nice to hear some official TSN ruling on the matter. It does seem a shame though, because the European community contributes a lot to this game. I guess we'll just have to keep winning the divisional title every year until they change things :)

I've followed your 'rise' to the top of the fantasy basketball and I agree with all you EuroGurupies. The least they can do (and probably the easiest) is to give you TSN-credit.
Unfortunately with the way you guys are playing, it might seriously hurt their pockets ;)

yes, it was my first idea, and i told them that if they wouldn't be able to give us the prizes, at least they can give us a tsn credit, which we all would have used to buy new teams for the next year....but not, they told there was a law which didn't allow this move too.
now, we just can stay tuned waiting for a response....

Yes JCS alle this, our lawyers have to look into it crap has to end. No more excuses for TSN, I know it is quite simple to hand out prices at least in the Netherlands. This thing can be solved on short notice but they refuse to do it.

we've done it a lot of times, and considering that we're a part of this forum and that we (europeans) all have a problem, i don't think that a single topic should be such a problem for you if you don't want to read it. just ignore it if you're not interested, thanks and have a nice night.
damn, i know that being a$$kicked by eurogurupies in a fantasy sports frustrate you, but try to show a little more comprension!!!
i'm just kiddin' obviously, but have patience with this topic please!!!

I'm with Irri in this one. We've already been through the whole hoopla of sending email to TSN - i don't see how one thread is going to hurt.

Quite frankly, i don't think it's that unreasonable to expect a response on a topic such as this. Of course we understand the rules when entering, but just like last year, we'll have EuroGurupies threatening to walk away (or not, as the case may be) with some of the top prizes. I think it's only fair that TSN give us a clue as to whether we can seriously expect to get anything or not. The fact of the matter is that we are the reigning Divisional Champions, and i think that should count for something. If it's a legal issue, then at least an update is not that much to ask for. But from what Edgar's saying, that doesn't apply to everywhere in Europe.

It's not fair to fob us off with "You just can't have prizes" every year. Surely there must be something TSN can do about the situation.

Erik/Bernie/TSN, we implore you - give us a clue about what's going on. Please.

At least if they would be so polite to comment on the current status.

yes... perhaps we can't win anything because euro's value is growing up against dollar!
or our money are less important for them, who knows!
but it's a real shame!

I am in the U.S., and enjoy and live for the TSN games. I so want them to grow and thrive. It worries me that there is this problem with the Euro-players. One hopes this is not indicative of a downtrend in the health of TSN. Every attempt should be made to satisfy the maximum number of participants.

One can understand the situation in the states in the U.S., as they apparently have laws which interpret receiving prize money as gambling.

money isn't really a big factor.
surely if you win 1st prize overall 1000$ should be a nice fit in your pocket, but for smaller prizes as the divisional ones, it would be enough to provide who isn't able to receive money to get a free pass for next fantasy games coming.
50$ should so be substituted by 4 or 5 fantasy teams for the next season. it doesn't seem so difficult to me, and i don't think it would take a great lawyer to find a way to run this thing....

I've tried contacting Erik on a totally different subject and never heard back. I'm just curious if anyone has been able to get a response from these guys at all? Has communication gone south again? Or are they just ignoring certain inquiries? I'm not even talking about a solution - at this point a simple "thanks for your email" would be something...

Lazio- feel free to butt this thread as many times as you want. I don't blame you one bit.

Not that I think TSN cares. As long as you keep paying your $50 or whatever you pay them they could care less. The less prizes they give out the better for their bottom line, which is why I suspect an answer from them isn't forthcoming.

IRRIDUCIBILI LAZIO -

If you wish, drop me an e-mail and I will give you Bernie and Erik's telephone numbers at work. You can dial them direct and they will pick up and say "hello" That will give you a chance to ask your question, yes?

This information is publicly available and easy to obtain, so I'm not betraying any confidences.

I'd imagine you will get the same answer as last year "our lawyers say we can't", but you certainly have the right to ask.
