Merry Christmas to the forum.

It's good to be back in the USA for a week or two.

Mid 70s yesterday on the golf course here outside Temecula. Not really looking forward to cold and snow back in Utah.

Everyone have a safe and happy holidays.

My three-month old son is in the hospital tonight. He was diagnosed with RSV on Sunday, and went to the emergency room yesterday but he was much worse last night (struggling to breathe, etc). My wife will be staying with him overnight in the local hospital.

If you happen to the speaking with the big guy, a good word would be appreciated.

I told my wife that for a "Baby's First Christmas" ornament we can fashion something out of all this tubing we now have...

YIKES! So sorry to hear that, PD. Yeah, I'll give a shout out to the Dude upstairs on behalf of your son. Nothing is worse than a child in the hospital (just took my 13 year old to the emergency room last Friday).

All the best.

That's sad news, Perm, hope he heals fast. Last night my sister took my niece to the emergency room at 3am with a severe flu. It has become a tradition for one of our girls to puke on Christmas Eve for one reason or another, though we've never had to hospitalize before. The staff was prepared and handed out gifts, a nice touch.

I really like the tube ornament idea. A cute reminder of a Christmas you won't forget.

As for PV, I remember an 85 degree Christmas in Riverside, CA one year and I am fond of that memory. Makes you want to move to Australia.

PD, our thoughts and prayers are with your family. My daughter spent time in the hospital when she was 2 mos. old. I was a wreck and know what you are going through.

Stay strong...good luck and good faith.

Thanks for the thoughts and prayers, guys. I got back a bit ago from the hospital, and while my wife says my son spent much of the day sleeping, he looked pretty good to me when I got there--energetic and smiling, like usual. They are keeping him another night for observation, but he's looking good. He got an ear infection they are dealing with as well (apparently, fighting RSV makes kids more susceptible to opportunistic diseases like pneumonia and ear infections).

Sorry to hear PD-Junior is having a tough time of it, PD.

We went to the doc x-mas-eve to get the boy checked for RSV (a bit of wheezing, but no diagnosis - albuterol just in case). He's 10 months, however, and barely notices the 3rd ear-infection, cough, sore-throat, and new teeth ripping up his gums!

After your tale, I can honestly call us lucky. We were able to avoid any of those pre-3mo emergency room stays, and the boy handles his illnesses with character and bravado. Day-care sucks. I think quitting my job is the only way to keep him healthy. It's for the good of the boy, honey! ;)

Hope your boy feels better soon.

Merry belated x-mas all, and stay healthy!
