0 Subject: Rotoguru Political AUCTION league

We had our first auction league last year. Apparently experience won out as I took home the trophy. ;)

Since starting auction baseball a couple of years ago I have not played in a snake draft league except the two Guru keepers.

I am trying to get an early start getting people interested. I will keep asking over the next couple weeks but please jump on the bandwagon as soon as possible.

We will be using ESPN league and ESPN format which includes 5 OF and a MI and CI which makes a mixed league more challenging.

Will settle for 12 teams but 10 - 14 is possible.

If you haven't tried it the draft is a blast and I don't think snake drafting compares.

Let em know below if you want to join, will create the league in a week or two and have the draft in a March.

I will open up to the rest of rotoguru shortly but Political posters get first shot.

Cheers

Baldwin you seemed to be the only one who had a problem.

Somehow everyone else made it. You joined the league. The date of the draft was in the league settings. It was mentioned the date and time 15 days in advance.

You just aren't willing to take responsibility for your own actions and short comings. Would think you were a liberal.

Well the problem was that as far as could be ascertained from poliboard postings you were nowhere near a complete league roster of managers right up to the deadline so I didn't believe the date set still could apply. Combine that with my spotty email habits and I was just out of the loop.

Anyway, I showed pretty good [upper half] with a team that was half waiver-wire so perhaps this wayward manager can get a pass over past transgression?

One request, can we make all crucial announcements here and not e-mail only?

I'll play again, if we can get some participation from here. That was my first experience in that format, and it was fun. Also, a league such as this just keeps one that much more aware of what's happening around baseball, which aids in their other leagues.

Baldwin's showing last year was impressive, seeing as how he missed the draft, and the site gave him all those relievers to start with, not to mention a bunch of injured players.

Let's be honest, Baldwin was able to crawl back into the top half because half of the teams stopped playing in April. The league was deader than Allan West's chances of becoming President. It's for this reason that I'm not re-upping.

I don't remember people abandoning their teams. Not talking about it here didn't help the league any. While the autodraft screwed my team with 10 closers, it also gave me 3 or 4 batting studs much better than I have in the poliboard keeper league. I think I had Hanley Ramirez and guys like that I have no hope of touching here.

Your memory is as bad as Ann Coulter's writing! I was streaming starters for the second half of the season and maybe two other squads made any waiver wire moves each week. At least three teams stopped even logging in during the spring.

Autodrafting not only screws the teams who are not there, it also ruins it for the rest of the teams. Each player has a MSRP and the autodrafters will price enforce up to a dollar short of that. It makes it impossible to get any bargains until the autodrafting squads are out of money. I do vaguely remembering nominating someone who was injured just so he would end up on your team, Boldy! I had a good chuckle.

I love auctions, but ESPN's version is poor.
