0 Subject: Rush Limbaugh - Heart Attack

Posted by: Boldwin
- [26451820] Thu, Dec 31, 2009, 06:33

I don't know yet how late I am in getting to this news but Rush Limbaugh is in a hospital in Hawaii due to a serious heart attack.

On that hangs the fate of the nation.

He could have been more helpful building that farm team. Hopefully he survives long enuff to correct that oversight.

And won't it be fun to see how the new civility demonstrates itself in this thread?

PV, the numbers are actually much, much lower. And of the tiny number of Canadians coming into the US and having health care done, about 80% were emergency cases.

But is a damn fine story. A fiction upon which to base the projected fiction of socialist medicine in our future.

Thank's for the unnecessary wild goose chase.

You and everyone on here knows perfectly well they come across the border all the time for services they've already paid for. In fact they've paid for theirs and their neighbors, and then they have to come down here anyway and pay again.

Until you kill off Canada's safety valve and auxilary health system. Then they will be screwed.

Actually, we only "know" what the fact say. Anything else is more than a "wild goose chase." It is a bad argument.

What reliance on anecdotes in lieu of empirical statistics gets you.

If the quantity is relevent then asking for figures (and some evidence to suport them) is not any wild goose chase.

I should add that I've only seen a few studies on the question of Canadians crossing the border for health care, and nearly all say the same things as the link I gave in #25. That is, there are some (just as there are small numbers of Americans going to Canada) but the stories are largely anecdotal.

Oh, now I've just got to find me one American applying for state run benefits they didn't pay into in Canada. Fire up the Google engine boys.

Maybe they made an exception for Micheal Moore?

I think you need to read the link PD provided above.

I interpret that "80% of those Canadians" to be tourists who for whatever reason; SUDDENLY came under the need for care. (ie, car accident; heart attack, etc etc)

#34: Exactly. B hasn't actually read the piece, in which the emergency cases were broken down a bit--mostly heart attacks and sudden gastro problems.

Limbaugh states:

"I don't think there's one thing wrong with the American healthcare system."

This is the most influential conservative in the US. Allow me to borrow Baldwin's quote in #31:

Really, no one can figure out why that's so scary?

My sister traveled to Canada for years to get her healthcare, because she couldn't afford insurance in the US.

And Tree and Baldwin shouldn't be responding to each other's posts. Ever.

This thread is rapidly sliding into the sewer.

Bili...that is a facet I was not aware of. I wonder how Canadian doctors price that compared with the pay Canada sets for them.

Well, she was kinda a special case.

She worked as a groom for years in Canada at Fort Erie and another race track, and kept up her residency and renewed her Canadian drivers license (fraudulently, I suppose) in order to continue to be eligible for insurance there.

What lengths people will go to in order to get health care.

i was legitimately asking for clarification of the statement. your answer helped.

my brother lives in Canada. he is not a Canadian citizen. he gets the same free health care Canadian citizens do.

It might seem ominous for an intellectual movement to be led by a man who does not think creatively, who does not respect the other side of the argument and who frequently says things that are not intended as truth. But neither Limbaugh nor Chafets is troubled...

good for him. Really.

But people like Limbaugh, Larry King, Elizabeth Taylor, and Newt Gingrich have done far more to destroy the "fabric of marriage" than any two committed homosexuals in this country.

Baldwin how many times has Rush been married?

4 times really? He should just convert to Islam so he doesn't have to divorce each time to move onto the younger model.

Boldwin if this was (insert any liberal) getting married for the xth number of times, wouldn't you be foaming at the mouth about how outrageous it is they've married so many times?

I could care less, not my business, just funny how otherwise conservative piteous apostles completely rewire their moral code when it's one of their own marrying down the food chain. Constantly trading in the lease for a newer model.

It's also pretty expensive. I don't recall if Rush harps on people about marriages and divorce. Not a daily listener.

I have seen no evidence he initiated any divorce. For all I know he stepped into gold-digger traps, girls who had no willingness to put up with his work schedule and who were outta there as soon as they had punched their ticket.

On the other hand I have not excused Newt.

Same source claims she moved out when he admitted the oxicontin story.

Anyway you aren't going to play the game with me where every conservative has to be the third perfect man ever on the planet and every rapist/murdering/Dem president gets a pass because he never claimed to have principles and so at least he's not a hypocrit.

I am probably giving rush too hard a time, but blowhards are
not too be looked up to, and nobody should aspire to be a
trophy wife. That they are being held up as a shining
example of marriage shows moral failure at a societal level.

If you believe a thrice-divorced,
four times married drug addict is
an example of positive moral
behavior over couples who have
been together for a decade or
more, it offers great insight into
your own character and
morality.....

Wait Tree. You're saying I shouldn't set Anna Nicole Smith as a role model for my daughters? She lived the American dream. Married the man of her dreams and stayed with him until death separated them.

/sarcasm

The irony that has been pointed out in the last few points is sad.
