I do believe the 2012 election amongst the literate voters will be this: Government is generally the first solution or Government is the generally the tertiary or lesser other solution. It depends on what your are looking for a solution to. Where functioning and healthy markets can exist, government's role should be to simply regulate and make certain they stay functioning and healthy, and keep the playing field level. Where there isn't a possibility of anything more than a sham market, there is a broader role that government should play. | ||||||

This thread is full of unintentional comedy - amongst the 'literate' voters...ha! If the Government is the 'lesser other' solution amongst the Republicans, why to they and their big businessmen spend billions of dollars lobbying? Sounds like they want the Government to be their solution and not yours. | ||||||

The person first posted this is a huge Gary Johnson supporter and he claims that it isn't from his campaign. The website is claiming that Johnson should receive about 15% of the vote overall, but likely won't as people don't want to "waste" a vote and thus help support a two party system. I can't say that I believe all of that, but I do think that 3rd party candidates are not viewed favorably and people don't want to waste their time. However, I wonder how the website is biased towards Johnson and Libertarians in general. | ||||||

There are very few institutional costs associated with online media, which is why many things you won't find IRL flourish here (like comments overwhelmed by dicks, libertarians, and political extremists). Overall, I think Romney would do much better on something like that survey if only he would release actual policy positions. Not sure why he believes he would do better by running without actual positions, but it is clear he's hoping the fewer facts he releases, the less ammo will be used against him. Not exactly how a President should act, but there you go. | ||||||
