Subject: P2 Week 7. and RPI ratings
Posted by: Wammie
- [20039259] Thu, Mar 08, 08:30
Here are the RPI ratings
0.5508 Astros 0.5299 Mets 0.527 Giants 0.5258 Dodgers 0.5238 Padres 0.5237 Cardinals 0.5162 Cubs 0.5132 Braves 0.5103 Orioles 0.4968 Yankees 0.4892 Rangers 0.4884 Royals 0.4739 Red Sox 0.4625 White Sox 0.4382 Mariners 0.4332 Indians
I checked these numbers a lot. I was very suprised to see the movement that we say. TB, you were hurt pretty bad by not sweeping the M's, but your winning, but your winning 3 of 4 helped all of the teams you have played.
This is total NL domination, but I was disappointed to find that the NL Least crawled into second place.

Rigsby??? Who the hell is Rigsby??? If you're referring to the player with a 360 AVG that had a career BA around .180 then that is Randy Rigsby or something like that. I believe you cut him and then nobody even picked him up. The only Hall that he is in, is the Hall of Shame. I guess that could be said about most Mariners after you got through with them. I just wanted to let you know that Petrick started off with the Mariners, I think. I traded with them for him. I forgot about the so I'm sure he will suck under your management.

Looks like Whitey was luckier than Worm being in 1st place. He scores 7 unearned runs in 1 inning and my sh!t reliever blows another game. Instead of me winning 3 out of 4, I lose 3 out of 4. PHUCK!!!

Brock - Sorry to break your heart, but there is NO WAY you could possible have won 3 out of 4 in that series. It was the definition a "housing". Your team didn't show up and that was surprising since you "dominate in Qualcomm".
4 from the Giants 3 of 4 from the Padres hmmmmm, who's next?? Oh yeah, WAMMIE!!!!
P.S. Brock, did you see the game that Foster had in game 4 of our series??? 3 Home Runs and 7 RBIs!!!!!!

I'm almost too embarrased to write anything. Whitey winning 3 of 4 from me is worse than if Worm took 3 of 4 from me. Someone explain to me how a very limited in talent team like Whitey's could possibly win 3 of 4 from me? I know that 2 of the games were blown by my bullpen but it still shouldn't happen. I guess it's because of these things that teams like the Cubs can lead the East. At least stuff like that doesn't usually happen in the playoffs.

No, it's just the couple of sh!tty guys in there that happen to get an inning or two. They are the ones who give up the runs. My defense is killing me too. I gave up 7 unearned runs in the top of the ninth in game 3 to Whitey.

Brock - Let me clear a acouple things up for you...in 2 of the games which I won, it was tied after 8 and I eventually won in the ninth or extras. No blown save there...th game where I kicked your a$$ 14-3, I had a 7-3 lead going into the ninth and I piled on 7 more runs in the ninth (I guess they are unearned but who cares). You won the other game like 6-2.
Just because the game is tied after 8, that doesn't mean you lost because your closer blew it. Do you expect to give up 0 runs in extra innings every game???
Sorry for throwing a roadblock in your path to the NL West crown, but it had to be done.
When you get the chance, do some comparisons of our teams and you will see that there is not that large of a gap between us. Plus, most of my guys are all rookies or 2nd year players and will only get better.

is whitey making a late run? it may be too late. i can greatly help brock and wammie tonight. hopefully i can do that by sweeping the dodgers. my pitching staff is surprisingly good this late in the season. hope it can hold up tonight against the dodgers. you are right about petrick brock, he is washed up. he went 1-17 for me in the series and is hitting a weak a$$ .214. i may have to sit him tonight and play my regular catcher. luckily i didnt give up that much for him. when the playoffs come i'll have to make a decision on whether or not to play him. if i play the pads then i will if not then he'll do a great job warming up travis in the bullpen for my lead in the 9th against wammie!

any one interested take a look at league f3 and look at the trades san fran is making to the braves. san fran is jacking up his team for the merger. the braves are in last place and they are trading their star prospects for average relief pitchers and such.

Whitey my team is MUCH better than yours if you really want to compare them. My hitting is far superior. Obviuosly you haven't looked at my team in a while. I have brought up some stud minor leaguers. I am probably #1 or #2 in AVG. Harris is better than any of your pitchers and Knight and Stone are as good and better than any pitcher you have and they go about 6-7 innings a game except when Harris pitches. I would say all this makes me the top team in the NL.
As for the matchup last night, in the game that you won 14-3, my last 2 relievers gave up 10 runs in the 8th and 9th. In the first game, one of my scrubs entered after Harris shut you down and gave up 2 runs in the 9th. I never mentioned blown saves as you refer to. I said my bullpen blew 2 games. I expect my team to win every extra inning game. Actually, I expect my team to win every game. I don't know about you but that's the way it should be.

Case in point, you are not realistic Brock. your team won't win every game. every one knows that. and your pitchers can't all have 0.00 ERA, and you hitters won't have 1.000 AVG. the game would be boring if there was no randomness to it.

Brock - If you recall correctly, Gabe Gonzales outpitched Harris in the opening game, so what's your point. Your pitching can't really be considered that much better than mine. How can we even compare when you only have 1 starting pitcher on your 24-man roster. When we go to the new merger, you better change your strategy or you are going to have a lot of injuries using KRP.
I am too lazy to look at your hitters, but if you want do a position by position analysis and see if your offense is really that much better. I don't think it is..

I like SanFran's trade with the Mets, 5 northern leaguers for 2 good looking prospects and cash. The trade with the Braves wasn't as bad but stupid none the less. Those are the types of things that happen in F3. We can't do anything about it.

I just did a quick comparison of our hitters, Brock. I can now say without any doubt that there is little difference "on paper" between our hitters overall. I have a couple guys that play one game a week and they bring my overall ratings down (Connacher/Font).
Ron Wright is an excellent player, don't get me wrong, but you make it seem like you have a lineup full of studs. You don't...feel free to show examples of how your team is far and away a much better offensive club.

Whitey, you forget that premise that all the players on Brock's team are the currently the best players in GSB, and the players that are not on Brock's team are worthless.
I agree with the F3 trades, there isn't a damn thing we can do about it.

Brock - Wow! You can actually do a pretty decent assessment of players when you really try. I pretty much agree with everything you said.
A couple points I want to make though. The catcher comparison isn't really a straightforward comparison. Obviously, Reese should hit about 50 points higher than Foster in BA, but you also have to consider that Foster will hit a greater number of doubles, triples and homers (mayeb a lot more based on this season). Also, what's up with the 2 for 32 for Reese (that's not really applicable to this discussion though)
Our outfielders are close like you mentioned. Sasser is still improving at 3/4 points a day so by the end of the week he could be close to 500.
You have a little more HR power in the outfield, but overall it's a small advantage in the outfield.
Now that you laid the numbers out, don't you agree that you may have only a slight advantage in the hitting department and your hitters might not be MUCH better?
Brock: C (I still have an argument here though) 1B 3B (very small difference here) OF (again very small diff)
Whitey: 2B (Pena is my main man, you can't even count Connacher) SS (same thing here, Font is basically one bad game away from being released) Aside from this, I don't see how we can go about comparing the pitching because I have 4 starters and you have 1. I do know that I have some solid relievers to put up against your guys.
