well, looks like GO's gamble on picking up Punk might have paid off, as i believe he's WWE bound now.

his last ROH match is this saturday, for certain.

i'm gonna miss the convos i had with him about his tattoos, his love of the Clash, and me turning him onto new music like Avenged Sevenfold.

he's a good guy. i hope he headlines WM22 next year.

congrats Punk, you deserve it.

just read this, so maybe i will just go, but was hoping you would have above average tickets...

CM Punk just informed ROH officials that his last match in Ring Of Honor will be this Saturday, June 18th, in Morristown, New Jersey at the beautiful Mennan Sports Arena. This is a big building so there will be plenty of tickets available at the door. Check ROHwrestling.com for info and directions. The Mennan Sports Arena is an easy drive from all points.

i think there are still some people offering them on the message board at www.rohwrestling.com, but it might be too late for someone to get them into your hands unless they're meeting you at the show.

go to the fan activities section.

they're also still selling tix at the door...

here's the article I emailed to a couple of the guys for everyone else to get an idea of the talent that WWE just acquired.

You probably won't see something like this from me again because it's hard to sum up what a profound impact C.M. Punk has had on my enjoyment of wrestling during the past couple of years. During the tail end of the summer of 2003, I was watching a lot of WWE and TNA, but there was a real lack of passion behind the booking and presentation of both products. Smackdown was a pretty good show, but I've always been a fan of great promos.

I heard Raven, who was one of my old favorites from ECW and WCW was having this great feud in a fed called ROH. I had never bought a tape over the internet before, save for some ECW tapes back in the day, but never an independent tape. I gave in and ordered "Death Before Dishonor."

Anyways, Punk cut this awesome promo on Raven leading into their dog collar match. Punk then came to the ring later and cut another heel promo, ragging on the crowd, which he had in the palm of his hand. He and Raven had an excellent match, so I began to order other tapes in order to see what happened with Punk next. Punk's promos at "The Conclusion," and "The Battle Lines Are Drawn" still stick in my head, especially his promo about his girlfriend Lucy being attacked while he was out of ROH for one show. Most recently, Punk cut some great promos during his feud with Jimmy Rave, including an memorable promo on the "Best of American Super Juniors" release.

On the indy scene, Punk's in-ring work is second to none. He just has this presence about him in the ring. He's got the right facial expressions and does the subtle little things that draw people into a match. Last year, Punk hooked up with Samoa Joe in a series of matches that featured some of the best wrestling and crowd heat I've ever seen.

I usually bring a friend or two with to ROH shows. They don't follow ROH closely, but they love C.M. Punk. When I told them today that Punk was going to the WWE, the first thing each of them said was, "I hope they don't make him suck like seemingly everyone else they've brought in."

It seems to me that things will be different with C.M. Punk. He seems to have the right attitude backstage and management seems to be high on him. It will be interesting to see what they do with him. I remember when WWE brought in Taz from ECW and I thought for sure he would take off like wildfire. We all know what happened with him.

I'm cautiously optimistic that Punk will do well in the WWE. If I hadn't just moved, I would make the trip to N.J. and see his sendoff in ROH this Saturday. The last time I saw him live at an ROH event was on May 7 and there was such an electricity in the air when he came out. It's one of those intimate things like in ECW where the crowd just went insane, which doesn't happen often anymore in the WWE since Austin and Rock stopped wrestling.

In closing, I look forward to seeing Punk in the WWE. I've said before that I think he has the potential more than anyone else out there right now to be something special there if booked properly. I can't wait to see the tape from Satuday's ROH event. It will surely be a keeper in my collection.

Tree - got your text. I am just gonna try and buy at the door and get there a good hour before showtime to do so.

I just saw Low Ki and AJ Styles are there too which sealed the deal! lol... Probably my top 5 indy guys are Punk/LowKi/AJ/Samoa/Jack Evans and they are all on the same freakin card tonight haha... I AM indeed bringing the new girlfriend so this should be an adventure. She did watch the ECW show with me too and didn't fall asleep (she falls asleep during things she DOES like so this was a good sign) and rather enjoyed it.

Insanity. Think Punk will debut with the belt around his waist? That would be good publicity afterall for ROH I guess.

AND... the heat in that match was amazing. Every single punch and kick was cheered like crazy. I wonder how that'll transfer to the DVD. We all know how the crowd gives a "whooo" with chops nowadays... imagine every single punch that Aries landed getting booed out of the building and the same with cheers for Punk's punches and moves etc. for about 45 minutes. Insane.

And when Aries hit Punk with Punk's own finisher - and Punk barely even let a 1 count occur and got up and went crazy the roof went off the joint... I know you loved that Tree! we even got 2 Shining Wizards! lol...

I am surprised he left the building. I would have thought he'd go back in and drop the belt to Daniels... a way for him to win the title officially but then drop the belt before leaving.

i don't think Punk is leaving yet. i had a gut feeling before the show that this wouldn't be his last, and that gut feeling proved correct.

i see two scenarios.

1. Punk's around until the end of the summer, and Daniels spends the summer chasing him. he finally catches him in Chicago on August 13, where Punk will of course get a hero's welcome. he retains the belt against Daniels in some dastardly heel type manner.

the following week, aug. 20, in Morristown, NJ, where this whole thing started anew last night, Punk defends against Daniels again, perhaps in a cage match. this time he loses, and finally heads to the WWE.

2. Punk reports to OVW this week, and ROH sends a slew of wrestlers to OVW to try and win the belt, week after week after week. everyone from Aries to Danielson to Samoa Joe to Daniels to whoever. sooner or later, someone takes it.

i'm not surprised he left the building. the way things ended, the whole internet is going nuts over this. it's certainly the most controversial title change since Montreal '97, and it's probably the biggest work/shoot since Lawler/Kaufman, because we legit believed the two of them hated each other, and didn't know the truth until after Kaufman died.

Punk retained TWICE this weekened apparently - and Mick Foley demanded he defend it the second night after "speaking with Vince"... Tree - hook us up with some more detail! does his retaining mean that he is going to debut with the ROH belt or they are just going to keep stretching out his farewell tour? If he is on the Conn/Hardy show next week I think I may be going up there then.

I expect James (Noble) Gibson next in line for a title shot?

New music for Punk - is this gonna be his WWE music (Cult of Personality by Living Colour)?

Gibson is next in line, getting a shot this saturday connecticut - the first show i'll miss in exactly 52 weeks, so if they title changes hands, i'll be pissed.

the call from vince was friday night, when Foley said that if Punk "didn't do the right thing for business," he'd be stuck in OVW for the rest of his career.

as for saturday night...

Punk gets up on the balcony, and he's doing the "you don't deserve a title shot" bit and then he says "well. ok. i'll give a match to a young man i said was going to be a future star just a few weeks ago in this very building. Roderick Strong, you get me tonight. but it's non-title!!!!"

and then he just starts heeling out the crowd again, and mick foley comes up from behind, and bends Punk over the balcony, threatening to toss him off if he didn't agree to a title match.

the crowd was going NUTS. people hate punk so much right now they they really wanted him to fall to the "concrete floor...with carpeting" (as Foley put it) below...

anyway, because the choice was "fall or make it a title match", Strong got the title match.

i still believe it's Punk's Summer of Sin tour, and it ends on 8/20. it amazes me how evil his character is, and how much people hate him, especially because when i'm hanging out with him after a show, he is a big goofball who is funny as all get out...

Punk is a good wrestler, but an outstanding promo guy. i honestly think he's one of the best alive, and with wider exposure could be considered among the best ever.

the way he changed people's opinions from loving him to the point where they were literally crying tears of joy when he won the World Title, to spitting on him 20 minutes later after he cut his promo, then hoping he would die 3 weeks later, is simply amazing.

I think he is a good wrestler... not just move wise but the whole "ring psychology" that everyone always talks about.

But you are right about the mic skills, ridiculous! And not some cheap gimmick that gives you something to talk about i.e. Simon Dean - but they are more intense and not boring (cough HHH cough).

Is it expected that when he debuts he will keep some of his signature moves? (primarily the Shining Wizard)... I have a feeling the Pepsi Plunge may disappear due to similiarity to it being the top guys move, although HHH doesn't do it from the top rope... unless of course its against HHH and that would be amazing.

cant answer your questions on Punk's moves, GO, basically because i don't talk wrestling much with him. i've noticed that in the past when i have, he kind of loses interest in conversation, fast.

i think it's an issue of talking wrestling with a fan, well, that crosses some sort of imaginary kayfabe line in his head. we talk music, food, tattoos, and that's about it.

i do suspect he'd lose the pepsi plunge, but may instead use some of the moves he hasn't used much in recent months, like the pepsi twist...

from Caldwell's take on PW Torch

After watching several Ring of Honor tapes featuring CM Punk doing battle with the likes of Samoa Joe, Austin Aries, and Steve Corino - just to name a few - I had the opportunity to watch CM Punk live for the first time at Pro Wrestling Guerrilla's 2-Year Anniversary show last night in Hollywood, California.

To save on the superlatives, let's just say it was exciting to watch CM Punk wrestle live. His match against Ricky Reyes was built as a technical, mat-based match featuring smooth counters and reversals that weaved a nice story into the contest and captivated the audience.

As he walked around the ring before starting the match against Reyes, Punk's presence was unmistakable. During the match, his presence in the ring was just as noticeable. Punk had a certain commanding poise only a select few Indy wrestlers can lay claim to.

During intermission, as CM Punk signed autographs for eager fans, one fan asked Punk about his decision to sign with WWE.

"I'm excited," CM Punk said as someone asked for a picture, "I'm genuinely very excited."

The same excitement that I had watching Punk wrestle live for the first time was the same excitement Punk has for his eventual debut in WWE. It was obvious in his facial expression and his tone of voice that Punk knows there's a window of opportunity for him to be special in WWE.

Certainly, WWE stands to benefit from CM Punk's entrance into WWE. If given free reign to portray his character the same way in WWE as he has on the Indy scene for the last five years, CM Punk can deliver a fresh style that will be different from the Chris Masters and Simon Dean type characters that WWE fans have been accustomed to as of late. In other words, CM Punk's character does not come from the "wrestling bubble" mindset that has restricted the creativity of recent gimmicks.

Chris Masters is a one-gig performer who is still trying to develop as a worker. The expiration date on Simon Dean's one-joke character passed long before WWE pulled the plug and put him in the WWE version of the bWo. CM Punk isn't cut from the same cookie cutter mold and he comes into WWE with a unique identity that will help him stand out just it helped him stand out on the Indy scene.

Whether playing a heel or a babyface, CM Punk is far from a one-dimensional character. His awesome promo skills allow him to deliver strong words that rile fans either in favor of him or against him. With an ability to play a hard-nosed babyface who plays it tough and exudes confidence fans can connect to or an in-your-face heel where you want to jump the guardrail and take him on because of how strong and inciting his promos are, Punk can draw different emotions depending on the assigned role for a program or feud.

Let's not forget about the wrestling aspect of Punk's repertoire where he is able to work with any given opponent to create a harmonious flow of wrestling holds and counters to wrestling holds that is very impressive to watch. Punk can flat out go in the ring with his ability to deliver strong promos lending assistance to set the tone for any given match.

There are many different ways WWE can debut Punk under the guise of his current gimmick. Certainly, the majority of WWE fans are casual fans who won't instantly recognize Punk upon his debut with the company. Traditionally, that entails entering the promotion as a heel to build credibility with the audience.

That plays perfectly into Punk's ability to draw an emotional response from the audience where passion and spirit ooze off Punk's moves in the ring and words on the mic in a way that fans have no choice but to notice and respond accordingly.

Aside from the option of having Punk debut on his own accord to establish himself in a WWE ring using his own abilities, WWE can use a current member of the roster to introduce Punk to the WWE audience through a pre-existing storyline. Another option is to bring Mick Foley back to WWE in order to introduce Punk and instantly legitimize him with the WWE audience. This would give Punk an instant starting point to find a foundation to build upon in order to connect with the entire audience and not just the hardcore, DVD junkies. Connecting with the mainstream audience is the most important task facing Punk and having a recognizable person introduce Punk could be just the way to give him the right starting push in WWE.

Whether on his own or with the help of a current roster member, Punk stands to succeed as a fresh face in a WWE ring. He isn't like the rest and he doesn't stand to fall into the same rut that other characters fall into after a few weeks on television. If given the right opportunity to be himself, Punk has a strong enough character to work multiple programs with multiple types of wrestlers.

Whether it's a technical match with the likes of Chris Benoit or Eddie Guerrero or a fast-paced match with Chris Jericho or a slow down, drag out match with Triple H or JBL, Punk can adjust to the style of his opponent. That creates a strong synch in the ring to where the wrestling product comes across very well from both sides of any given match.

The person that WWE is adding to the roster is someone who loves his craft and takes pride in delivering as advertised in the ring. He has passion that a fan seeing Punk for the first time or a fan watching Punk for the fiftieth time can recognize.

CM Punk is excited about his impending debut in WWE and I believe that comes from having confidence in his character and his in-ring work where he will be a fresh act with something new to bring to the company. He's already made a strong impression with management with the help of a few words of recommendation from the likes of Mick Foley and Ricky Steamboat. With a strong reputation preceding him, Punk can develop as a member of the WWE roster where his input into the product will be valuable for future storylines and programs.

Punk may be the next breakout superstar or may just be a steady role player who is dependable for a solid match and strong promo. Either way, Punk's debut in WWE is something fans can look forward to as Punk brings a fresh character with potential to create intriguing match ups for any number of wrestlers.

With the same excitement that Punk has for his future debut in WWE, I will be watching closely with anticipation to see what Punk can do on the larger platform. It's just like seeing Punk live for the first time all over again.

while i was not there - first time in 52 weeks i've missed an ROH card - Punk sucessfully defended the ROH World Title against James Gibson, apparently after bloodying Gibson earlier in the night, and then using the ropes to secure the pin.

After the match, Christopher Daniels charged the ring and stole the World Title, demanding a title shot.

i would urge anyone who thinks Philly is a reasonably short trip to go to the card this saturday night at the Armory, because it's going to be a kick ass event.

For that good of a card I was kind of underwhelmed last night... highlight was probably AJ's performance (neckbreaker on that chair and the slam through the announce table great spots) but he got screwed so it lost some steam. The whole thing with Nana and covering up that girl was too drawn out and people were yawning... No Hardy (not that I expected him, but it would have been a good surprise).. Punk seems confused a bit by what he should be doing... the change in music has hurt his presence too - but i guess thats a way for people to not cheer for him.

Just read this on PW Torch and I guess I wasn't the only one - this is putting the blame squarely on the booker -

All that being said - an average ROH show is still more entertaining than what WWE has been producing recently.

CM Punk and Alexis Laree were both scheduled to debut on Sunday’s Heat however was pulled from the show as management wasn't happy with the bout. A source said that the match didn't do anything to make Punk look "like a WWE Superstar" and he didn't come across "spectacular" enough. Punk is scheduled for this Monday's RAW, which means he will either be working a dark match or they will have him debut on RAW.
________________________________________________

So I am guessing his Heat match will not be played tonight? does he debut directly on RAW? that seems a bit unprecendented for an Indy guy lately... to skip OVW entirely that is.
I wish they would do some vignettes for him to build some anticipation first instead of him just walking out for a normal match. That would kind of be an underwhelming debut unless its storyline related, like jumping Edge with Hardy?!
Plus he "still has the ROH belt" so maybe that could be worked in somehow?

can't remember the name of the song, but it's by the Bouncing Souls (one of Punk's favorite bands, along with Rancid, The Clash, Lars Fredricksen and the Bastards, and a few more), and in Chicago, when he came out for his last match, after his traditional theme song by AFI, that song played.

man, that video nearly put a tear in my eye. if there is ANY justice in this world, CM Punk is going to be a big star.

i never thought of that, but it might work.

regardless, if there's ever a guy i wanted the WWE to "get right", it's Punk. not only because i know him, and that he works hard, it's that his gimmick is so good, and quite original. when i was a punk rock teenager a LONG time ago, i always wondered why there weren't more "punk" wrestlers.

i really wanna see Spanky make it too, since one of the main reasons he's returning to the E is so he can afford to propose to his girlfriend, Taylor Methany, the runner-up from the first season of Tough Enough...

Tree - have you actually read the lyrics to that song he came out to in Chicago and used in that tribute? wow... you'd almost think he wrote it word for word to his fans and the other wrestlers... even "going down south" which he is doing right this moment.

"Night Train" by the Bouncing Souls:

"Goodbye to me and you.
Goodbye to the life we knew.
One last long embrace.
Let go and walk on through.

I'm leaving everything behind for a peace that I can't find.
The ghosts that roam this house
like winter air right through our souls.
And it feels like dying.
It just feels like time to go.

Goin down south to dream another dream.
Maybe check out Memphis, Tennessee.
Take the night train and an extra pair of jeans.
Can't think of anything else I really need.
And all my experiences ride with me.
This town is dead to me.
And I can't stop chasing my dreams.

I love you more than anything,
but what you want I could never be.
I love you more than anything,
but only alone can we both be free.

CM Punk made his debut last night (at OVW) and was sent to the hospital afterwards with a possible broken nose and eardrum injury after a hard slap by Danny Inferno.

Jeez, why does this Tree guy brag and brag about "knowing" Punk? You're full of it. You may have met him a few times or said "hi", but I doubt he considers you a close friend.

I've worked multiple shows with Punker and I don't brag as you do.

hey Feinstein, what's up?

i also doubt he considers me a close friend.

however, if i were to walk up to him and say hello, he'd greet me by name/nickname, offer his hand out to me (or, as he did after the final show in chicago give me one of those "manly" hugs we men seem to do these days), and we'd have a pleasant conversation about nothing too deep, such as music and tattoos.

anyway, it's awfully easy to attack someone on a message board, with a false name, and a false email address, isn't it?

either you're pathetic, or you're one of my friends, ribbing me.

Tree - have you seen anyone on the boards with the final updated tribute video including the Final Chapter match?

I did buy that DVD and its amazing. You are very visible too in a couple of the opening scenes when he is standing in the corner of the ring.

Perhaps that's because you never say anything on these boards?

I, for one, have seen at least one wrestler say hello to Tree at a show. So I don't consider him to be "full of it."

Tree - can you give expound upon the relationship between Eddie and Punk? I just came across this...

During Punk's early days with IWA-MS, he was also able to work with Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio. Guerrero was temporarily out of WWE due to substance abuse problems and Mysterio was yet to be brought into the Smackdown cruiserweight division. So, it was a great opportunity to work with both them in a three-way dance. I've seen the match. Good stuff. Punk and Guerrero still keep in touch. Mostly because Punk is straight edge and Guerrero wanted to hang around someone like that during his drug problems. The story goes like this. Punk and Guerrero were in a restaraunt once and Eddie noticed a tattoo on Punk's knuckles. "Drug?" he said. Punk put his knuckles together to show it actually said "Drug Free."

i actually don't know anything additional about Punk and Guerrero - i do know that the last entry in Punk's journal, which was just after Eddie died, read as follows:

Kids and Heros
I ain't nobody. I'm just some Punk rock kid with a big mouth and an opinion. I'm just some kid...

Eddie Guerrero was a hero of mine. I was fortunate enough to work with him many times, and he helped me more then I could ever put into words.
Eddie was my friend. He still is. Maybe i'll be back on here to tell some stories when I clear my head, right now is just too hard.

I remember Eddie Guerrero.

Cheat to win.

So CM Punk made a surprise ROH appearance last night and had a main event match. Yes I missed it due to the blizzard.

Tree will surely provide the results and otherwise insane details. The basic story is that LowKi, Abyss and a couple other guys all left ROH this week (and a few others couldn't make it due to the travel worries as they are on the TNA PPV tonight) and ROH pulled a few strings to get Punk to make a guest appearance so the fans got their money's worth.

Also, Maria was at the event with him which is kind of cool she made it to Long Island with him in a freaking blizzard. She scored some points with me for that.

whew. ok. i'm late on the upswing. the blizzard last week, and trying to get home in the middle of it, really waylayed my old ass.

in regards to the ROH departures.

Abyss left (he was a part-timer anyway), because he wanted to be pushed more, and ROH felt they should push their homegrown talent more, not "TNA" talent. the parting was amicable.

Milano Collection AT has allegedly left, because he claims he wasn't given what he was promised. he asked his "agent" to get him other non ROH gigs, and among those was Pro Wrestling Elite, owned by kiddie diddler and former ROH boss Rob Feinstein. This of course, doesn't sit well with the current ROH brain trust, so yea, MCAT is probably gone.

Low Ki and ROH parted ways for undisclosed "business" reasons. my guess is that Ki asked for more money, only after being booked in three upcoming main events. then, he walked when he didnt get the raise...

the night of the show, AFTER they were all in the building already, Alex Shelley, Jay Lethal, Homicide, Roderick Strong, and Austin Aries - were ordered to leave the ROH show and fly out in the middle of the blizzard so they wouldn't miss the TNA PPV the next night - something to me that not only puts the wrestlers in harm's way, but also makes them lose the ROH payday.

Shelley, Lethal, and 'Cide left. Strong and Aries, to their credit, stayed and wrestled. they still made the PPV the next day, no problem.

for their efforts, TNA suspended them for 2 months.

as for Punk, he secretly committed to working the ROH show, with his boss' permission, well before this whole TNA fiasco. unfortunately, his boss didn't clear it with his bosses, and so on, so it's kind of ugly now.

Punk came in, wrestled a tag match, got the pinfall on former rival Jimmy Rave, and it was a fun time. He saw it as his chance to say "goodbye" to the east coast fans, because he never really got the chance.

the 500 or so fans in attendance were very appreciative of Punk showing up. This was his coming home, the same way Tommy Dreamer would "Come home" to ECW.

after the match, he soaked in the cheers for a bit, and literally was mobbed by fans who wanted to say hi, touch him, get an autograph, i mean, all of that stuff that you expect from a hollywood star. he truly has charisma.

at one point, still in his wrestling trunks, he broke free from the crowd, ran out a pair of open doors right into the snow building up outside. he flopped into the snow, and proceeded to do a snow angel while people flocked outside to carouse with him.

it really was a special moment. for all the naysayers out there, Punk truly is a great guy, even if his car was too crowded to give me a ride back to Queens, where he was staying...lol...

it's flattering to me, when i walk over to shake his hand, and he congratulates me on my recent wedding. (that in itself is another fun story. i may have told it already, so in case i did, i won't repeat)....

and yea, he was there with Maria. she is even more pretty in person, then on TV. she's a pretty tiny girl, and has more of a punk rock aesthetic to her fashion than you might expect.

Just watched Straight Shootin with Punk and Joe... Some great stories on there.

Can you further explain this FIP/StripClubBrawl story? They fought from the arena threw the crowd and it spilled into a strip club? And then Punk is exchanging chops on the stage and turns around and calls one of the strippers a slut and all hell breaks loose?! lol... I can't even fathom this scenario.

And the Corino/Punk at a transvestite bar in London was great... getting lessons from Steamboat on how to run those 60 minute draws... Foley's plan to bring them in to WWE (which on a side note, I think could work again right now just with Punk in Foley's current fued with Edge).

Falls Count Anywhere, FIP Championship Match: CM Punk v. Homicide
Punk and Homicide brawled all around and outside of the building before their match at Emergence, hence this match. Punk slugs away to start and shoulder blocks him in the corner. Homicide goes for a piledriver but Azrieal runs out from the back and cuts him off. Punk chokes Homicide out with his t-shirt with Azrieal's help. Rainman comes out and brawls with Azrieal to the back. Homicide hits Punk with a double ax handle and they brawl into the crowd and towards a pool table where Punk gets a pin fall for 2. Homicide puts a garbage can over Punk's head, and then takes it off revealing a plastic garbage bag. That's as close as I think I'll ever get to seeing the Funk/Flair plastic bag incident reproduced. They fight outside and Punk gets rammed into a Ryder truck. Punk tries to crotch Homicide on a rail but misses and Homicide goes to the eyes. He lifts the rail and rams it onto Punk's back. Punk climbs on the Ryder truck and Homicide follows him. The referee also follows. Punk goes for the Pepsi Plunge but ends up getting clotheslined for 2. Crazy. Punk hits a DDT for 2, still on top of the truck. They climb down and fight around the parking lot. They brawl towards a gate where Homicide grates Punk's face against the mesh. Punk beats Homicide onto a bench and hits the mounted punches. He hits a backdrop on the concrete for 2. The match is suddenly clipped to Punk and Homicide fighting inside a strip club. They brawl to the stage where some scantily clad women stand around. Punk uses the pole to hit an enziguiri for 2. He goes for a piledriver but Homicide reverses to a side Russian legsweep for 2. Punk hits a bodyslam for 2 as two strippers start pole dancing. They fight into the VIP lounge where Homicide hiptosses Punk onto a couch. Another clip leads us to a Punk low blow and some girl-on-girl action. They fight back to the stage where Punk shouts at the strippers for their poor life decisions. Another clip takes us back to the parking lot where Homicide hits a piledriver for the win. Homicide celebrates his win by watching strippers.

Cabana had the match of a lifetime against Homicide Saturday night in Chicago. just a brutal brutal thing that first saw Cabana toss 'Cide through a table that was on top of a barbed wire board, then saw him superplex his rival on about 200 chairs after the crowd filled the ring with them, ECW style...

Punk vs. Venis on Heat from a year ago I guess. This match was better than any wrestling match I have seen on RAW in months. Tree, you mentioned you were worried about Punk's size, I think he looks just fine. He is even a little taller than Venis here... I'd compare his body type to that of Edge I guess (minus the roids).

The only thing that will hold this guy back is politics.

Alright, Mike Knox debuted on ECW... is CM Punk next?!! (he debuted in a house show Saturday beating Stevie Richards).

I would flip if he is using "the music" (AFI - Miseria Cantare) and he WAS using at the house show so there is hope.

Strange that they used that "real" music but still refuse to use Enter Sandman.

Enter the sandman would be nice, but metallica is probably giving WWE the run around or asking for a crazy amount of money per use. Me being in the music business, licensing music is a bitch and can cost any where from $100 - $???? per use. And since the sandman matches usually don't last no more than 3-5min, WWE can use the money for other promotional things for the new ECW. CM Punk was awsome tonight on ECW and I hope that the creative team really put him to good use..maybe reintroduce the TV title or some tag belts.
