figured we could put notes such as this all in the same place... this could actually be good news for Tree and allow him to retain Kennedy.

According to Dave Meltzer, Smackdown! star Ken Kennedy suffered a lat tear (upper back muscle), the same injury recently suffered by Batista.
It is believed Kennedy's injury is more serious than Batista's. Kennedy is out indefinitely.

It seems as though that Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch have quietly split as a tag team. On Heat this weekend, Todd Grisham said that Trevor Murdoch is Cade's former tag team partner and left it at that. Ever since the European trip, Murdoch has been wrestling on Raw whereas Cade has been wrestling on Heat.

I also just realized about 3 seasons ago I traded cade for orton and then just before this season I traded orton for cade. Both times Cade was a bust

From Wrestling Online Newsletter --- found this pretty funny:

> NFL TEAM DROPS FLAIR'S PSA DURING GAMES
- North Carolina's News & Observer newspaper is reporting that NFL's
Carolina Panthers have removed Flair's public service announcement he
recorded for the team which was played on the video scoreboard during
home games. The PSA, which shows Flair, urges fans to "behave
responsibly." Instead an announcer read the message last Sunday,
dropping Flair's video. "We didn't want the message to be lost because
of the circumstances of last week," Panthers spokesman Charlie Dayton
said. Flair is being accused of road rage, surrendered himself to police
last week and posted a $1,000 bond.

-----------------------------------------

Good call, Panthers. Wouldn't want the crowd to think it's okay to go all 'road rage' in the parking lot, start chopping guys down outside their cars and yell "Wooooooooooooooooooooooo!"

Stacy Keibler is the wrestler in question that will be appearing on the second season of ABC's hit show, "Dancing With The Stars." The show airs on Thursday nights on ABC for 90 minutes. The show will also feature Tia Carrere, Giselle Fernandez, George Hamilton, Drew Lachey, Kenny Mayne, Tatum O'Neal, Jerry Rice, Lisa Rinna and Romeo. Stacy has several years of dance experience and she even showed her stuff on Monday Nitro many years ago as a Nitro Girl.

Just wanted to rant about the recent release of the lovely Christy Hemme. Does anybody know why she was fired? Certainly she hadn't yet earned her quarter of a million payday, had she?

I hear she was committed to working on her ahem, skills, down in OVW. Apparently Vince had had enough of her. Just thought she'd be able to enhance Vince's financial empire a little bit more. But I guess not.

Furthermore, the release of Christian was asinine IMHO! Did he ever get a fair shake? Dunno but man, he was sure entertaining. Definitely will miss him big time.

Ok, rant over...for now. Thoughts?

Tajiri's last bit was great. Especially when the translator yelled "Bischofffff!"

I saw Christian on TNA. They're clearly not afraid to put a belt on him, so that's good.

Also saw Road Dogg and Billy Gunn. They did a cool bit that was just like the "Ladies and Gentlemen" thing, but with different words.

And you can guess who Team 3D is.

I also saw Samoa Joe on the TNA show. I was thisclose to the guy in the lobby of the ROH show...

The original story on Christy's release was that she was asking for more $$$. But the newest info from Rajah is that she had recently signed a new deal with WWE and then was released a couple of days later. The article goes on saying that the only people that know why might be the McMahons and no one is really talking about why.

Following an angle taped Wednesday night at Ohio Valley Wrestling’s final television taping of the year in Louisville, an OVW trainer took Matt Cappotelli to a local hospital. Cappotelli received a stiff shot to the head from Chris Cage, who in the angle, turned against the OVW champion.

A test has revealed a brain tumor, pending follow up testing to determine if the tumor is malignant. We have learned that the results of the test should be known early next week.

Cage is said to be devastated, as you might imagine. “Matt sounded like Matt, but his spirits are down,” said a source that spoke to Cappotelli by phone.

On a side note, Gerweck.net has learned that the current plan is for Cappotelli to be called up to the main roster in 2006, and form a “reality type” tag team with Mike “The Miz” Mizanin, who is currently training in Deep South.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Matt Cappotelli, and his friends and family.

The Village Voice is reporting that Ted DiBiase is trying to purchse the rights to his old WWF theme song "Money Money Money Money Money!" from WWE in-house producer Jim Johnson. It was also reported that DeBiase and Mike Jones (Virgil) were stuck in a money laundering suit in March, and in June DiBiase reportedly sued his housekeeper for $10,000 after she laundered one of his diamond encrusted ring outfits by mistake.

WWE.com confirmed Booker T's injury that occured at a Smackdown house show last night. Booker strained his groin muscle and it looks like it will take 4 to 6 weeks to heal. He'll probably be back sooner though. Booker T was scheduled to wrestle Chris Benoit in match number 5 at the Smackdown tapings tonight.

re:Lashley for Punk...

This is a pretty interesting trade. I felt I needed to do this to acquire my favorite guy ahead of the curve. Both guys have bright futures I believe - so for Species this was good cause he eliminates any risk of having a "prospect" since Lashley already is on tv and obviously getting it done in the top 10 for the season points. He doesn't have to hope that his prospect gets called up and is given some stupid gimmick that ruins his career...

Tree and I discussed this a while back and I still believe Punk is a few months away from debuting. I know this. But my closest competition just lost a main scorer for at least a month, so pretty much I am betting I can hold on with my 3 big guns and the random free agents I can acquire in the 3 other spots. Primarily, Aaron "Idol" Stevens has joined the Smackdown tour so I expect him to debut soon, perhaps sometime early in the new year, especially with another SD injury of Booker that roster gets even thinner.

Yeah, when I got the 'idea' email, I had to go searching around to see if Punk was ready to be called up and join a new Evolution stable or something big before pulling the trigger.

Punk definitely has a high ceiling and from what everybody here says if used properly can definitely be a top flight heel. The problem is, obviously, his size and what kind of 'gimmick' (if any) he will be given upon his callup.

Lashley would seem to have VERY little risk. He is huge and we all know that VKM has a jones for that kind of size. I still have no idea what kind of charisma Lashley has because I don't believe I've actually heard him on the mic. But he'd make a great heel in a stable where he doesn't have to do the talking.

This gives me a decent core of keepers behind top scorer Michaels in Lashley, Hardy and Mercury....now if WWE would just settle with Lesnar and get him on Smackdown where he is sorely needed, I'll be in like Flynn.

Batista, who is already fighting through a back injury, had injuried his triceps in a match with Mark Henry last night at a SmackDown! house show. Having a World Heavyweight Champion that is this injury prone is a definite risk for Vince McMahon, especially when we're about to move into the "Road to WrestleMania" part of the year. Any major storyline that was to feature Batista likely has a large shadow of doubt casted over it tonight.

One has to wonder why the WWE would move forward with Batista versus Mark Henry when Batista has just gotten over a back injury. I don't think that there is anyone that would disagree when I say that Henry is likely not the safest guy to be in the ring with when trying to work delicately. Besides anything that Henry could botch in the ring, Batista should definitely not be lifting a 450 pound man around the ring. It's pure stupidity.

Looks like I will be moving back in the pack again as well.

The belief among those I've spoken to is that WWE World champion Batista suffered a torn triceps at last night's house show, an injury he's suffered in the past that's kept him out of action. Batista had been working through a lat injury in his back already, and the timing of the triceps tear was bad. One has to feel for Batista as over the last year, he's worked really hard to improve his game and earn a main event position. While on the way there, he dealt with a lot of personal hardships as his wife had been suffering from cancer at the time. Now that he's made it to the top of the card, he's racking up injuries left and right.

WWE Cruiserweight champion Kid Kash did indeed break his arm due to a stiff kick from Tony Santarelli while working for WWE developmental territory Deep South Wrestling last Thursday. There were some who were hoping it was just a bad bruise but we've confirmed it was in fact a break. At the Smackdown house shows this weekend, they did a strange deal where the injury was announced and a match was held to crown a new Cruiserweight champion. The match then ended with a DQ, so Kash was ruled still

Cruiserweight champion.

Put the belt on Orton at the Rumble, and have him form a new faction that includes the Shane Twins as his muscle to keep Lashley off of him. Hell, steal Evolution's music and just have him go off saying he WAS Evolution, blah blah blah.

Speaking of the Gymini - was it just me or did Dean remind you of Jimmy Hart, the way he's leap in the air with his arms when his guys did something good, as well as pointing and instructing them outside the ring to beat the guy up, etc?

I know he's on my team, but WWE ought to set some of their pride aside, open the checkbook and bring Lesnar in before Smackdown dies on a vine. No he's no savior, but his return would really help what's going to be a pretty pathetic top tier with all of that talent on the shelf.

Perhaps they can start a UT - Henry angle so UT can win one more Mania over someone who you don't care about long term anyway.

It's a mess though.

Source: PWInsider.com

As noted earlier, John Heidenreich was released from his WWE contract earlier today. According to sources, John checked himself into a hospital several weeks ago claiming he had an ear infection. When the agents went to check up on him and schedule him for the next house show loop, he claimed he couldn't do it anymore and didn't want to be on the road. He then flew home and hasn't been seen since.

Many backstage belie Heidenreich was dealing with some family issues. It may be a case of WWE releasing him so he can take care of some personal business and then return at some point in the future.

Road Warrior Animal is scheduled to work with Matt Hardy in the coming weeks.

news and notes I came across...

The 1.14.06 edition of Impact scored a 0.8 rating, and 942,000 viewers, slightly down from last week.
The 1.16 (Monday Night) replay did a 0.9 cable rating, which is by far the highest number that they done in the Monday time slot. There was a big lead in for them with the live UFC Fight Night, which scored a 1.7 rating.

The 0.9 rating ties the highest rating TNA has scored thus far on SPIKE TV: I think this is, in large part, due to the fact that a lot of people go out on Saturday Nights and choose to watch the replay. Also, the UFC thing didn't hurt. I'm actually predicting that either this week or next week, Impact gets over the hump and actually posts it's first ever 1.0 rating. Remember that you read it here first, folks... And if I'm wrong, forget that I said anything about it.

The return of WWE Saturday Night Main Event is scheduled for March 18th at Detroit's Cobo Hall. Interestingly enough, TNA will be having their first house show ever on March 17th, also in Detroit:
Hmmm... will TNA try to pull some funny business at Saturday Night's Main Event? As much as I doubt it, it would make me giggle my ass off. The old DX invasions of Nitro were hilarious, and the earlier "attack" on WWE by TNA at Universal Studios was pretty good as well. For the sake of jerks like me who write about this stuff, here's hoping TNA has something up their sleeves for Vince and Company in Detroit.

UPN President of Entertainment Dawn Ostroff commented on the future of Smackdown. She said, "We fully intend to have wrestling on our schedule." UPN is negotiating an extension with WWE, as Smackdown's contract ends in September:
I am a little surprised by this, as I thought that UPN really wanted out as quickly as possible. Still, ratings talk, baby. And Vince does deliver ratings, no doubt about it. If something doesn't happen with UPN, I'm sure the folks at USA will give Smackdown a soft place to land over on their network.

TNA and SpikeTV were planning on having a live TNA primetime special Monday February 13th, the night after TNA's February PPV. TNA was really hoping to land the spot as RAW is not airing that night on USA Network. However, SpikeTV has decided not to go forward with the special due to logistical reasons. :
Tough break for TNA, as I was looking forward to seeing them actually do a test run on live television. I still think they will get a shot sometime in the future, and do believe they'll be in prime time (maybe on Thursdays) before the start of 2007.

MTV will be producing and filming a pilot for a new wrestling promotion next month. Not much is known except that the show will be taped in Los Angeles and California's Big Vision Entertainment (distributors of the Hardcore Homecoming DVD) will be involved:
Very interesting. If MTV is willing to pour enough money and hype into the thing, it could be a hit. They already are tapped into the young teen market, which is exactly the demographic that a properly-produced wrestling show could attract. Could we be headed to another era of three major federations? Time will tell, I guess.

Ring of Honor Update:
A bunch of guys probably put on great matches that the fans loved. To find out more, read Ari's stuff. The man is the Mike Wallace of RoH.

man, i hope the Tolands (Dicks) and the Heart Throbs (breakers) end up in ROH.

WWE takes teams that are WAY over in OVW, tweaks their gimmicks for the worse, then dumps them. it's awful.

WWE Talent Wellness Program
Effective today, February 27, 2006, WWE is implementing a broad WWE Talent Wellness Program. The Program has two components: 1. an aggressive substance abuse and drug testing policy, and 2. a cardiovascular testing and monitoring program.

The Substance Abuse and Drug Testing Policy prohibits the non-medical use and associate abuse of prescription medications and performance-enhancing drugs, as well as the use, possession and/or distribution of illegal drugs by WWE Talent. The use of masking agents and/or diuretics to conceal or obscure the use of prohibited drugs is also prohibited. This Policy will be administered by Dr. David L. Black, Ph.D., D-ABFT, D-ABCC, of Aegis Sciences Corporation, Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. Black will be responsible for scheduling Talent for testing, administering collection of samples, coordinating secure shipment of samples to the testing facility, determining whether any WWE Talent has tested positive and directing the appropriate penalty be imposed.

Under the Policy, WWE Talent may be tested on a random and/or reasonable suspicion basis. The initial test of all Talent will be considered "baseline" testing. No discipline will be imposed for a positive test on the baseline test. The results of the baseline test, if positive for any prohibited substance, will be utilized thereafter by Dr. Black to determine if use has continued. After the baseline test, subsequent positive tests for non-medical use of a prohibited substance will result in disciplinary action. For testing positive the first time, a Talent will be suspended for 30 days without pay. A second positive test results in a 60 day suspension without pay or, if Dr. Black so determines, in-patient care at a substance abuse facility, during which the Talent also will be suspended without pay. A third positive test results in termination.
The cardiovascular aspect of the wellness program will be handled by New York Cardiology Associates P.C., led by Drs. Post and Feuerbach. Under this aspect of the Program, all WWE Talent will undergo an extensive cardiovascular stress test. Examinations and treatment will be conducted thereafter as warranted.

WWE released Tank Tolland and Chad Wicks (The Dicks) last week. The main reason they were released was because of a fight between Tolland and Wicks.

Wicks was constantly being ribbed and hazed by a number of the veteran Smackdown wrestlers including JBL, Chris Benoit and The Undertaker. Wicks handled the ribbing poorly, and he'd often complain about it, which lead to even more ribbing. Tolland felt that Wicks' constant complaining would put their jobs in jeopardy. Just recently, the tag team partners had a physical altercation as Tolland punched Wicks. The fight put WWE management in a sticky situation because they couldn't possibly justify firing the wrestler who was punched and not the wrestler who did the punching. And thus, WWE decided to just release the both of them.

Tolland and Wicks will be going their separate ways on the indy scene.

This isn't really WWE news, but at a huge house party me and my roommate are throwing on March 24th, Jim "the Anvil" Neidhart has 3 minutes to dismantle my buddy Kyle in the ring.

lol ... just freakin' unreal.

By my count Orton has 7 more points than JBL going into Smackdown, and I had resigned myself to losing Orton as my top point getter when I made the trade with GO...but then after Wrestlemania I noticed that JBL could possibly catch and pass Orton. So I was really liking the possibilities that depending on the show I could see JBL becoming my top point guy.

Everything is looking good ... a good chance I get to keep Orton, who I can see as getting a huge push in the next few months or if worse comes to worse I still would have JBL now with a title. Now Orton is suspended so of course JBL is going to pass him with Smackdown's show this week and then I'm stuck with Orton who will be gone for 2 months.

Should have known not to get my hopes up...

From WWE.com:

Kurt Angle has suffered a cracked rib. As a result of the injury, the Wrestling Machine will now be out of action for an undetermined amount of time.

The injury originally occurred on the recent European tour when Mark Henry delivered the World's Strongest Slam to Angle during a match in New Castle. "At that point, I wasn't even sure if I was going to be able to compete against Mysterio for the World Heavyweight Championship," Angle later admitted to WWE.com. But being the intense competitor that he is, Angle kept his injury to himself and fought valiantly for the title he feels he rightfully deserves.

Unfortunately for Angle, the final straw came when Henry, perhaps realizing he injured Angle earlier in New Castle, dismantled the Wrestling Machine on SmackDown with a near 400-pound splash through a ringside table.

Just as he did to former World Heavyweight Champion Batista, Henry injured Angle to the point where he will now be out of action indefinitely, meaning he must forfeit his spot in the King of the Ring tournament. As a result, Booker T advances to the final round.

- Meltzer also reports that it is very likley Chris Masters will be taken off the road for an indefinite period of time for drug related issues.

- JBL is likely to be out of action for 3 months, but may be back in a non wrestling role before then.

WWE investigating Rob Van Dam and Sabu charges
By Ed Williams III, wwe.com
July 3, 2006

In the wake of being faced with five violations, including drug possession, by the Ohio State Highway Patrol, WWE.com reports that Rob Van Dam and Sabu arrived at the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia at 1:30 p.m. today and immediately went into a meeting with Vice President of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis.

Following the meeting, Mr. Laurinaitis told WWE.com that Rob Van Dam and Sabu will be eligible to compete tonight on RAW and tomorrow night at ECW on Sci Fi while an ongoing investigation is being conducted by World Wrestling Entertainment. The two men will be appearing in court Thursday morning at Ironton Municipal Court.

According to the Ironton Tribune, Rob Van Dam and Sabu were pulled over on U.S. 52, near Patrick Street in Hanging Rock, Oh. at about 10:15 p.m. Sunday night. The two were apparently driving from their performances at the Big Sandy Superstore Arena earlier in the evening.

According to the Ohio State Police, as reported by the Ironton Tribune, Van Dam was initially stopped for speeding. When troopers approached his vehicle, they smelled marijuana and performed a search. Troopers found RVD in possession of 18 grams of marijuana and five Vicodin, prescription pain pills. Sabu was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and also had nine pills that were not immediately identifiable, but were known to be controlled substances, according to the OSHP. Both were cited and posted bond at the scene.

Mark Henry was injured in the Six-Man Tag Team Match at Saturday Night’s Main Event. He is currently diagnosed with a fractured patella and a possible patella tendon rupture.

If the diagnosis holds up, Henry is due to have surgery later this week with Dr. James Andrews.

WWE Dr. Ferdinand Rios says that the amount of time Henry will miss because of the injury will not be determined until he can be more extensively examined on Monday by Dr. Andrews.

Due to the injury, Henry will not be at the Great American Bash press conference on this Monday in Indianapolis.

Kid Kash is expected to be suspended and taken off of the road after tomorrow's Smackdown tapings. The reason is not known, but is speculated to be because of an infraction against the Wellness policy.

With Henry, Lashley and Khali off the road, it is expected that Finlay will be turned face to compensate for the losses.

Angle released
Aug. 25, 2006

Due to personal issues, Kurt Angle has been granted an early release from his contract. WWE looks forward to establishing a new relationship with Kurt in the near future.

The only Olympic gold medalist in WWE history, Kurt Angle arrived in 1999 and quickly became one of the most decorated champions in sports-entertainment history. "The Wrestling Machine" is not only a six-time World Champion, but also held the Intercontinental Championship and WWE Tag Team Championship; he also won the 2000 King of the Ring tournament. Recently joining ECW, Angle’s unmatched intensity was rivaled only by his technical and athletic in-ring prowess.

yea, it's actually not all that shocking, considering the reports that have been coming in for a year now.

right now, anyone signing Angle to any sort of fight - be it MMA or wrestling - would be doing the man a great disservice, as in, putting his life in grave danger.

as i understand it, i've heard from some fairly reliable sources that the main reason Angle was released was that he refused to go into rehab.

Knox was in Deep South Wrestling which is their other training territory. Not quite as succesful as OVW yet, but they have only been working with WWE a couple years (I think).

I believe thats where Miz started though, and the new guy MVP on Smackdown is from there as well.

I generally use this site for a great visual of the entire organization. Its a wonderful tool.
Obsessed w/ Wrestling WWE organizational chart.

I originally found this when I was trying to learn about the ROH guys - they have roster breakdowns of "the big 3" in my eyes, WWE/TNA/ROH. Quite a list of talented alumni for ROH.

First of all, I thought it was a great match, it showed just how much potential this ECW venture has. Yes that cut was insane - deep and loooooooooooooong across his back.

from the review...
~That Hardcore Holly/RVD match was PHENOMENAL. I have major credit to Hardcore Holly for finishing that match. Man, every time I got a look at his back I felt that gash, and I am so not a squeamish person. Those two reminded everyone tonight just how hardcore ECW is.

I don't know, a schedule... that's kind of weird when we are already drawing the line between a sport and entertainment.

They just need to stick to the TV shows and PPV's, and maybe cut out the house shows. I don't know the intricacies of the WWE, and how important house shows are to them... but they obviously need to cut something back a little, and that seems like the only logical thing. You gotta have RAW every monday!

house shows are very important. certain venues can't support all the television tapings but those people need to be able to see the wrestlers and feel they can get up close or they will stop watching and ultimatey affect tv ratings and ppv buyrates.

that said, they need to take it easy on how bad some of these guys take a weekly beating.

Since there are so many different brands now, and generally it is possible to only run RAW PPV's every 2 months (Since a Smackdown PPV would be the alternate month, maybe even eventually every 3 months with ECW getting bigger)Wrestlers should also only appear every 2-3 weeks, and build up a match right before the PPV... instead of them feeling the need to book the same match for 8 weeks, then finally leading up to a PPV match. These seems to be what Taker is doing now, he only shows up once a month but he is still in the PPV's. They could probably let everyone take that kind of schedule... rotating shifts.

would never work.

the idea that you'd only see the top guys on tv once a month or so would draw no viewers, no ratings, no advertising, and would eventually kill the federation.

Undertaker is a special case. He's older and has earned the right to wrestle less. He's no longer the centerpoint of the federation. The new talent is the future and needs the push to make starts. Undertaker only comes in to give the rating a small boost and help elevate the younger talent.

Never really thought about this, but Rude brings up an interesting point. Before they started alternating PPVs, it was much easier to pace storylines, now it gets tricky if you sometimes don't have a PPV for your brand for say 8 weeks. Pacing of storylines is certainly difficult without a very simple 4 weeks - then a PPV system.

Nice little article about Lilian!

I love Lilian as Raw's announcer-babe. Admittedly, she had her problems when she first started but now I can't imagine Raw without her. She's definitely improved over time and even though she may make a boo-boo every now and then, I forgive her because she still looks great! ;)
Hopefully Vince will be able to keep her around for a long, long time.

I'm somewhat pleasantly surprised that Cryme Tyme is hyped as a face tag team, and that on WWE.com comments about their mocking stereotypes in their vignettes have been published. I laughed at the vignette with Booker/Sharmell/Coachman where, in essence, while they were mocking Cryme Tyme's lingo, they were also mocking Booker/Sharmell/Coachman as 'too white' as well.

not really WWE news, but how Bob Sapp never went to the WWE and became a monster star is beyond me. he is, as they say, big in japan, but in this video, he has the best ring entrance ever. and i mean EVER (and for those of you who haven't seen The Great Muta wrestle since the 80s, you'll barely recognize him now).

Interesting Eric Bischoff article

Not quite sure what to think of Bischoff overall. I haven't followed pro wrestling for all that long but I am surprised---from what I do know---that Bischoff and McMahon are still "business partners." Seems to me that the two men have generally valid reasons to actually hate one another. Will Bischoff ever come back to Raw full-time? Or is this just another of VKM's money ploys that guarantees absolutely no future ties whatsover? FWIW, I actually enjoyed his reign as Raw's GM.

Show is expected to take a break soon it appears. So at some point, I'd expect that Lashley will turn and side with Heyman and be his "monster" ala Brock Lesnar.

I also read somewhere that Lashley was having problems with the Smackdown agents and requested to the move to be reunited with Heyman who liked working with in OVW.

after typing that I googled it and came with...
PW Insider (via prowrestling.com) is reporting that Bobby Lashley is unhappy on Smackdown and has requested to change brands. Apparently he and Smackdown booker Michael Hayes don’t get along, and have had several disagreements backstage. Hayes is said to be down on Lashley, which if you ask me is pretty evident since he’s booking him into a feud with freaking Tatanka. How do you go from World Title Contender to a feud with Tatanka?

Lashley gets along well with Paul Heyman after his days at OVW, so that’s where Lashley is likely to end up.

from wwe.com:

According to WWE Dr. Ferdinand Rios, MNM tag team member Joey Mercury suffered what seems to be a broken nose in tonight's Ladder Match with London & Kendrick, MNM, the Hardys and William Regal & Dave Taylor.

Mercury was rushed to the hospital after one of the ladders smashed him in the face and caused his nose to pour blood. Rios said that without a CT scan it isn't possible to know the exact severity of the injury.

"I can't give a prognosis because Mercury could have shattered his frontal bone," said Rios. "Hopefully there isn't any problem in his brain; that blow was so significant there could be some damage and we just couldn't tell [without the CT scan]. But, he didn't seem to have a concussion and his mental status was excellent."

He said that without any complications, Mercury may need plastic surgery and two months to recover before returning to WWE action.

From WWE.com

During his match at Armageddon, Joey Mercury was rushed from the arena and to a nearby hospital after one of the ladders smashed him in the face and caused his nose to pour blood.

After examination, it was announced that Mercury had suffered a broken nose, which required four stitches to the inside and 14 on the outside of the nose. According to the doctors, Mercury's nasal passage is all clear and he should be alright.

Various outlets confirmed WWE's latest wellness policy violation Monday, reporting that Andrew "Test" Martin has been punished under the system.

As a consequence of the month-long suspension, Test will not appear on house shows. The latest amendment to the plan allows WWE to utilize Test on ECW television, but based on the way he was recently jobbed out to Bobby Lashley (which sources say was a punishment for his violation), it is certainly not a lock that WWE will let him compete on the air.

WWE(R) Pay-Per-Views To Follow WrestleMania(R) Formula

STAMFORD, Conn.--In the spirit that has made WrestleMania the premier brand in the pay-per-view industry, every future World Wrestling Entertainment pay-per-views will feature talent and storylines from all three WWE programs: -- "Monday Night RAW®," "Friday Night SmackDown®," and "ECW®: Extreme Championship Wrestling(TM)."

Starting with Backlash® on April 29, WWE fans will see all their favorite Superstars on every pay-per-view. This is a change from 2005 and 2006, when only four of WWE's 16 pay-per-views featured talent from more than one WWE brand.

"We have seen over the past two years that WWE pay-per-views have significantly better buy rates when more than one WWE brand is involved," said Kurt Schneider, Executive Vice President, Marketing. "WrestleMania, with an average of one million buys per event over the past three years, is the perfect example. This new direction will give our fans more of what they want in every one of our pay-per-views."

Schneider said that the tri-branded WWE pay-per-views will benefit from promotion on all three WWE prime time programs - "Monday Night RAW," (USA, 9/8C), "Friday Night SmackDown," (CW, 8/7C)and "ECW: Extreme Championship Wrestling" (Tuesdays, SCI FI, 10/9C). WWE has had the No. 1 prime time shows on USA, SCI FI, and The CW each week in January and February among households and total viewers, compared to programs with two or more telecasts. Throughout January and February, WWE programs reached 15.7 million viewers in 10.8 million households during the average week.

Kruel is doing an obnoxious flag waving American heal, talking about "his friend George Bush" and pushing all the right buttons to get people to boo. He comes off well on the mic and looks very solid in the ring. He is allied now with the "Russians" in OVW so he is on OVW tv as the front man almost every week.

Ironically someone Rude and I play an online game with wrestles indies in the mid-Atlantic region. I told him I saw video of he and Kruel from ECWA I think and he mentioned to me as well that Kruel was a great guy, and that was from a fellow worker. Sounds like Kruel gets good reviews all around.

One possibility could be Mysterio as well.....but it might be better to have him come back to chase the title instead.

Hardy certainly is over with the fans...but how believable is that?

I see Batista, maybe with Hardy winning the US Title either at this or the next PPV, with MVP moving up to the main event scene.

Bobby Lashley had surgery Tuesday to repair what was believed to be a torn rotator cuff. However, his rotator cuff was not torn but they found other serious injuries. Lashley’s injuries couldn’t be fixed through arthroscopic surgery and is expected to be out for three to five months.

Surprised the media isn't all over this.

The following is from WWE.com:

WWE has come to terms on the release of developmental talent Dan Rodman.
We wish Dan all the best in his future endeavors and Tree should have taken a #1 draft pick for him when Great One offered it :)

WWE suspends 10 wrestlers

by Dave Meltzer

WWE today officially suspended 10 of its performers based on information received from investigators in the Albany, NY district attorneys office.

None of the names have been released but it will likely be obvious over the next week who at least some of them are.

The suspensions would likely be based on proof that performers were using Signature Pharmacy or another Internet prescription type firm after the implemenation of the Wellness policy.

The company also has informed all performers that beginning 11/1, the company will publicly release the names of anyone who is suspended under drug policy violations.

better not be some of my guys...i'm hurting enough as it is.

this is a HUGE blow, and quite frankly, from a business perspective, possibly bigger than the death of Benoit. you're talking about the ECW World Champion, a guy being pushed as Vince's "son", and several other high profile guys.

Major disaster.

That said, any chance Edge can serve his suspension while he's out and be ready to make his return at the scheduled time anyway? :)

Back from Niagara.

Just as long as Kane isn't on the list, right? :)
But also, I believe their "suspensions" are just loss of pay - but they still are on TV and in storylines.

You'd think with all this they would push someone like Punk to the moon, since they don't have to worry about him. And yet, Nitro still wins at the PPV.

I'll do ECW points this afternoon.

Names being discussed for induction into the WWE Hall of Fame next year include the Von Erichs, Ted DiBiase, Mae Young, Gordon Solie, Rick Rude, and for the celebrity wing, Bob Uecker. Also, they really want Ric Flair, which has been the plan for a long time now, but both sides are currently on the outs.

Glad to see one of our own has a shot at the HOF. Personally my vote is for DiBiase.

WWE released Marcus Cor Von today. Cor Von had recently taken time off to be with his family following a death of a relative and was expected to return soon.
