I am definitely holding my spot for when someone with some impact DEFINITELY comes along. I can't see wasting my advantage on someone like Ron Killings (unless he was set to debut, cause he is awesome) or Faaroq who might come back. But I definitely don't want to miss out on AJ or Low Ki etc. if they ever join.

Question, if you attempt to acquire a wrestler and someone with greater waiver priority snatches him from you, does your waiver priority still slip?

G.O. -

Low ki has had dark matches in the WWE. i don't know if they want him, since he's small by their standards.

AJ actually was offered a developmental deal, but the WWE offers very little dollars for that - he makes more in a weekend on the indie circuit then he would in a week for OVW, so he turned them down.

Tree, I will assume you are being a wiseass. If not let me defend my rejection of that trade.

Booker is the only guy on my roster who is consistently scoring me points. Funaki is useless, and Dudley is "suspended" and considering he gets the screwjob each week he isn't worth much.

and since Funaki saved Torrie the other night, i figure he's into a program!

wiggs - according to 1wrestling.com, sable's email list was sent out, informing her fans she had signed a "long-term" contract with the WWE.

to me, it's basically vince just showing all these bitter people like Sable and Roddy Piper that his money speaks louder than their mouths. Sable and Piper have been VERY vocal in their dislike for vince and his product - piper as recently as last month.

i guess now we'll have sable in a catfight/lesbian angle.

Special Note: The only possible problem here is that Victoria was waived----and claimed----in the same week. In most fantasy leagues the waiving transaction would actually have to have taken place in order for the person to become available, then be claimed. Here, it was done at the same time. I allowed the move to be done, but it can be reversed if the league decides that way.

I don't see any reason for it not to apply. All free agents are actually on waivers. We decided that long ago, no? Farn submitted his waiver request on Monday. I don't know how long the waiver period is, but anyone with priority over him has had since then to submit their own request.

well, theoretically MITH, what i think Mike D is pointing out, is that your transaction of dropping Victoria does not become official until TODAY.

thusly, Victoria can't be picked up in the same week - because since she wasn't officially a free agent until today, then she couldn't be claimed.

i'm not saying we shouldn't allow it, just pointing out that technically speaking, it might be disallowed.

peace,
Tree

Yeah I disagree with that if its a literal explanation of the rule. I think dropped players should become available right away with a specific waiver period kicked in as soon as the first person makes a public claim. There simply is not reason I can think of for waiting until today to make her available.

MITH---only because she was still on your team. Technically, she'd be a free agent now, after your pick up went through (at 12:01am today). Again, Farn's claim was really made before she was available. However, BH also made a claim for her, as did MNG initially, leading me to believe no one had a real problem with it.

Doesn't really matter to me. Just noticed it and felt the need to point it out. It's kind of odd to me. By why should WWE be the same as other sports?!!!!??

MITH - let's say someone leaped ahead of you to claim Piper, who you dropped Victoria to claim.

thusly, your transacation does not go through, so Victoria is not a free agent and able to be picked up.

for her to be a free agent, your transaction has to be finalized.

Well I'm certainly not going to start a campaign to get the waiver period changed, but I don't think it's right that we had to bend the rules to let Farn start Victoria this week. IMO, the rules should allow him to do so. Just my $.02. We'll revisit the issue when looking into possible changes for the next season.

That's not what I meant. I think that if the consensus says Farn has Victoria, let him have her. I'm just saying I don't like the 1 week rule that we are apparently breaking in order to let him activate her. I did not propose a new rule, but if there is one, lets clarify it now.

What is the waiver period? I'd be just fine with 24 hours. 36 hours? No more than 48 hours.

I am ok with a 48 waiver rule (for future endeavors). This gives people who may miss a report a chance to try to grab somebody.

The only downfall is someone being scooped up Tuesday night after a Smackdown taping and having somebody else miss out because the waiver time runs out Thursday night before they have a chance to claim somebody.

And as I said earlier, I am ok with Farn getting Victoria for tonight. :)

The way I see it, fantasy sports are all about being on top of things. If you don't check your team and the boxscores and skip Baseball Tonight a few nights in a row, your team will likely suffer. This is no different. But I'll agree to 48 hours if it is proposed. In the interest of fairness and keeping it official I think someone should formally propose a new waiver period in a new thread. If it's between 12 and 48 hours I'll support it.

I don't care what it is, as long as it is clear. I thought it was clearly a 1 weeker before, effective 12:01am Saturday.

If someone can spell out what 48 hours has to do with that, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

drop: Tenacious Z
add: Sylvain Grenier

i have some interesting ideas on how this thing is gonna play out...and if i'm right, another team owner here is gonna be very happy.

Quick promo was cut with two French guys, one of them being the fake ref that disrupted the Hogan/Rock match. They gave an anti-American rant, posturing the French stance regarding the war in Iraq. Sylvain Grenier was one of them. I have no idea what the other's name is or which is which. One has blonde hair and I forget if he's the one with bigger muscles. Interestingly, Nowitzki also came out to his match with Steiner also denouncing the US' role in war in Iraq.

fine. i'll drop tenacious z and pick up eric angle. LOL.

at risk of being collusional (is that a word)? someone needs to block BH from getting either of the French dudes.

because if my gut feeling is right, he's gonna have 3 of the 4 guys in a main event tag team program for several months if he picks either up - he's already got two guys in tree's "gut feeling" tag feud.

i didnt take him with the 1st pick, i did with the 2nd. That was also when i heard he would be debuting at the Rumble. Oh well.

I think it is so funny how MNG offers all these big names as soon as there is a report that they arent getting the push. Latest thing i read said that Nathan Jones is a terrible wrestler and they dont know how they are going to get him into matches. That was why he was removed from WM. He couldnt get any of the moves down and they were afraid he would ruin the match.

Tree-----no, not if the rule has been changed. I still don't understand what was being referred to by the "48 hour" stuff. It was never clarified, so I have no idea what those that suggested it and discussed it meant.

Busy day for me with my kids' sports. I'll be around later. I had no problem handling the waivers via the weekly system we were using. I'm confused about it currently.

folks - we need to put a freeze on waivers until we figure out what the rule is here:

mike and i had been under the impression that we were going by a friday night at midnight rule - that's when players were dropped and added - a player was not an official DROP until that point in time, thusly, he was not in the free agent/waiver pool until that point.

then we underwent this 48 rule change, and there seems to be a lot of confusion about it. the two people doing the tracking (i.e. Mike D and myself), seem to be the most confused about it - or at least part of the minority in expressing opinions.

so, i'd like to propose this, to get it more organized.

1. 48 hour waiver time - process as follows:
a. announce you're picking someone up, and who you're waiving to do so.
b. 48 hours from the post, if no one else ahead of you in the priority list claims that wrestler, than they are yours.
c. the person you waived is officially in the free agent pool, and can be picked up.

2. a. a person is NOT in the free agent pool until the 48-hour waiting period has happened.
b. what this means is that if Goatlocker drops Brock Lesner, NO ONE can claim him until the 48 hours are up, and HIS transaction has gone through. don't post that you're picking up Lesner five minutes after Goatlocker makes his post, because Lesner is NOT a free agent at that point.

3. a. this also means no making of rosters presuming that a waiver transaction goes through. IF A WRESTLER IS NOT GOING TO BE ON YOUR ACTIVE ROSTER BY 11:59 P.M. EASTERN TIME ON SATURDAY NIGHT, YOU CANNOT PUT THAT PERSON ON YOUR ROSTER FOR THAT WEEK.
b. there are no exceptions to this - if you do so, then you just won't score points for that slot during that week. none of "Brock Lesner (if my transaction goes through, otherwise, start Chief Morley)

Tree

My personal feelings is that someone isnt officially dropped until the person that is being picked up in his place is official.
For Example this week many managers went after the 2 new guys and alot of names were thrown out there as drops. We shouldnt be able to make a claim on someone if we dont know if they will even be available. That just makes things to confusing. Just my opinion, but back with the farn getting victoia, yes i know he had higher priority then me anyways, but if he didnt I would have taken a shot at her, but didnt due to the fact that she was never officially released.

does anyone here READ? damnit. :o)

please, everyone, read post 115 and comment on it. only one person has so far, and at least 3 others have been here since.

without knowing who is on who's team anymore, keeping score is impossible.

as it is - i'm out of town this week - wednesday to sunday - so i doubt i'll have scores up before the middle of NEXT week.

as is, i don't know who is on anyone's team anymore, and neither does Mike D, who was the guy keeping track of that.

without rosters, and scores, we don't have a league.
