Sending out a possible feeler, depending upon what happens with the Randy Orton situation. Details are still very fuzzy, and quite possibly the WWE are still deciding what (if anything) to do about Randy Orton's alleged hotel room thrashing......but the possibility exists that Orton could be suspended or taken off of TV for a period of time.

This could make him a top target for a rebuilding team - a la HHH last year. If he misses some time he would be unlikely to be your top scorer. So not only would he likely qualify as a keeper but a lower score could improve your draft standing.

Again, I'm probably not doing this immediately, but as news becomes clearer or there is an announcement, I could be interested in moving Orton for a solid mid-card guy. I view Orton as a main event scene guy, but if he's suspended then I recognize that his value goes down, so I can't expect a main event scene guy back.....but I can't take a fringe guy back either, so I'd be looking for a solid, on-TV-every-week kind of guy who might get in a few PPV's.

Just planting the seed. Looking forward to a great season with some new friends and the return of a REALLY old one! ;-)

47 points... Punk would need to have a DQ loss at the PPV which is 34 points and then not have a match on ECW, maybe just cut a promo.

Chances of that happening are slim.

the flipside if Punk doesn't pass Cena is that *I* get screwed, because having one less major keeper in the talent pool when i have all four of my picks in the first 11 really dilutes things for me.

Wow. That's beyond huge. PPV win with title defense is 54 on it's own! Even DQ win would be 42. GO PUNK!

So who will be in the title match? Orton certainly deserves it, but who will his opponent be? On RAW HHH seems one obvious choice, but he has a match....you could try Kennedy, but he just lost to the Champ last week.

Edge?

Undertaker??

How about they add Orton to HHH vs Umaga... make it a 3 way for the title.

Or the winners of HHH vs. Umaga and Orton vs. Kennedy. Or a 4 corner with them.

I think its a bit much for Y2J to come right back into that big of a match, I can't imagine he's in great ring shape right now.

I do feel like there will be some sort of DQ for Punk against Viscera. He can't realistically pin him, can he?

Kind of sucks it'll have a screwjob ending after Punk gets a huge ovation and reaction from his Chicago (hometown) PPV debut. There was an opportunity here to put on a great athletic (or even hardcore) type match that the crowd would go absolutely nuts for (like Angle in Pittsburgh) and instead it'll be a slow-plodding snoozefest I expect with 10 minute long bear hugs. I can see it now. Ugh... wasted opportunity.

Speaking of Angle in Pittsburgh, I was at the Unforgiven PPV immediately after 9/11 when they gave the belt to Angle over SCSA in Pitt. (I think it was like 9/22, we were worried they wouldn't let us fly)

A little tid bit of info from your friend, Greg Rude.

I can't believe they put the belt on HHH already. How on earth does it not make 100 times more sense to put it on Orton as a transitional champ in order to build up a lot of heat for the eventual title change? Geeeeez.

Punk with the DQ win as expected. 18+12+12=42. What happens if CM Punk ONLY cuts a promo, TYING him exactly with Cena?!??!????!???!?

Just read what Species said ... what if 2 guys by some very very strange chance ended up tied for pts on the same team?

The only thing I can think of is use the non-scoring week as a tie-breaker?

Well, we all know the high scorer is removed from a team. If both guys tie I would think you would maintain the letter of the rule and remove both guys from the team.

:)

(we may have to have a real discussion on this because Punk only cutting a promo is a real possibility)

And not to be lost in this, is Kane JUST passed Edge on Farn's team by a whopping 3 points through week 23 (plus a 30 point win for week 24 - but how messed up would that have been if Edge had returned early for this PPV!)

Yes they pushed Taker/Kane + MVP/Hardy to Smackdown. MVP & Hardy had a Pizza eating contest that was disgusting. At the end Hardy puked on MVP. I could barely watch, that stuff literally makes me sick.

lol Farn. At the very end it was pretty interesting, but that's sad when you get excited about 2 apes climbing a couple of walls.

NICE! Now I get what you guys were saying about 3 Championship Matches in 1 night.

Good (and obvious, in hindsight) booking. HHH does NOT look weak, Orton gets the sneaky "Edge like" cheap title, and gets to dodge HHH for a while before dropping the belt.

Thank goodness Hardy/Batista have a good lead on Orton!

Assuming this match goes on, Punk is toast! (from wwe.com)

rivals collide

Just announced moments ago, ECW Champion CM Punk will battle rival John Morrison live tonight on ECW on Sci Fi. But, after Big Daddy V's attack at No Mercy, is Punk in any shape to compete? Story...

I've got to admit that is a pretty crushing blow to GO. Not only to lose a healthy keeper but his favorite wrestler who he has followed for years. Yeowch. Plus it goes back to where he has now been f**ked over two seasons in a row by the shows AFTER the last PPV of our season -- he lost last season's title at RAW via an out-of-nowhere Hardy's Tag Title win, and now Punk as a keeper at the last ECW.

But those are the breaks.....torn pectorial muscles, murders, steroids -- many teams have been screwed over at times, but yeah this one hurts.

It should make next season pretty damned interesting though.

I'd like to point out that PRIOR to Wrestlemania last year I said that I thought the season should end at Wrestlemania... the Hardy's winning the titles for absolutely no reason - in a completely random new fued the next night on RAW only illustrated the point I was making.

I think it was probably via email discussion but I noted it here...

And yes, losing Punk is really going to put a damper on my enthusiasim for the league. He's the main reason I watch WWE and if Tree gets him I'll never get him back. I traded Lashley for him straight up months before he actually debuted because I figured I would have him his entire career.

I guess the only positive is that I will have Cena for Season 11 and probably the subsequent season. If somehow I get lucky with a few guys... (ala Vince and Shane in the last round last year) that could set up a dynasty that could rival Wiggs threepeat.

just so you know, I plan on making a bit of a come back next season. I thought this was my year with benoit, hbk, and rey,but that didnt work the way i had hoped. I should get the 5th and 6th overall pick in this years draft, not that it means that much this season.

That may be true, and incredibly he was the top overall scorer for our entire league. But I just don't see that happening again. No reason he can't lead an individual team though I guess.

Wiggs - off the top of my head I'd say yourself, Farn and Tree are in really good shape. And Cliff got to keep Lashley (a well timed injury for him I guess) so thats something strong to build around.

Species and myself will regress after a big 1 year run. This Punk/Cena thing for me and CorVon and Beniot for him were HUGE swings in depth etc.

First of all, the over/under on Teddy Hart was 2 months. And I took the under - looks like I was WAY ahead of myself.

- There are not a lot of details right now, but it appears as if Teddy Hart and WWE have parted ways. With Hart's departure from the company it looks as if the entire planned Second Generation Hart Foundation angle will be scrapped. There should be more on this story soon.

- Hart joined WWE for another stint in developmental months ago. Reports were that there would be a "Second Generation Hart Foundation" group formed and the group did end up forming in developmental with Hart, Harry Smith, TJ Wilson, Nattie Neidhart and Ted DiBiase Jr. The group, mainly Hart, Smith and Neidhart, were to be brought up to the Smackdown roster soon but with Hart gone, the whole angle may be dropped.

Re: Hart Foundation -- well, most of the Canadian contingent and most hard core fans know of the Harry Smith/Nattie Neidhart part of things, and that TJ Wilson has been with them forever....I wonder if Teddy being a part of it was THAT important.

It looks like Matt Hardy will be my #1 scorer, and I'm not sure I should be happy or not. Pretty impressive season from him without winning an individual belt. He had a tag team run w/Jeff and now this MVP deal.....but man did he have a great year. I guess I should be thrilled to keep a main eventer like Batista, but he just hasn't been the same in a while (compared to when he first went to Smackdown) and I don't think the fans are as behind him as before.
