GO- Why are you thinking 3 10s?
I would think that we should count it as 1 match- no contest- which would be my vote.
Or 3 individual matches- which would be 2 DQ wins and 1 no contest.

here's the rules for those who want to debate:
Effective Week 5, Season IX:
"A gauntlet match, where a wrestler or team takes on a series of opponents in a single show will be scored as one match. The end result will be a win or a loss versus the final participant in the gauntlet match.
However, as a bonus, the wrestler(s) involved will earn a 10 point bonus for each victory during the gauntlet match leading up to (but not including) the final match of the gauntlet."

So did Cena win the first two "matches" within the gauntlet, but the third was a no contest?
If so, 10+10+10 plus ME points makes sense to me.
Damn that gauntlet match definition is well written.

That description doesn't really explain what Show, Y2J should earn, does it? unless thats the not the whole of the language. Or if they are supposed to get 10 for participating we need to take away the victory part of it.

Show and Y2J get match points too for their participation in the gauntlet match. They should get DQ points.

Ok, so that works out to 10 anyway. But lets say Cena pinned Y2J clean. Cena gets the 10 for advancing in the gauntlet... and then Y2J would get 15 for a "singles loss" in a way?

Yes, GO. The opponents in a gauntlet get match points like any other match. If they are a tag team going against a single opponent (or another tag team for that matter), they get their 25 or 12 depending upon whether they win or lose. Singles get singles match points. The rule was structured to clarify the points given to the person(s) trying to run the gauntlet.

I really hope the reports of Mickie being viewed negatively backstage because of "weight gain" is wrong.
If in any way that girl is punished for not looking like a waif then the WWE (and it falls completely on Vince) is very wrong. She looks just as incredible now as she did a year ago or 5 years ago. She's still a good worker and one of the best Divas ever.
I rarely speak out on crappy rumors but I really hope that's crap. Vince needs to worry about his crap booking and stop worrying about a problem that doesn't exist.

There's plenty of room for the Kelly Kelly/eye-candy chicks in WWE. They can come and go. The real female wrestlers ought to be given a little more slack....and with WWE's big PG push, what is the big deal?
Now, Matt Hardy's gut and physique? AWFUL. Almost uncomfortably awful to see him hanging out of his pants.

I believe Matt's problems had a lot to do with his injury over the last year etc. Abdominal tear and the thing where his intestines burst through the stomach wall lining. I'm gonna guess thats made it a bit tough to do a sit-up! :)

Thought this was amusing. Shawn Michaels has often told this story concerning how the Rockers were fired from their first stint in the WWF: "We fly up to the old office in Greenwich, and Marty and I are just sitting there ... with the snakeskin cowboy boots, you know, and Vince comes out and goes, 'Hey, nice boots!' And we went, 'Oh, thank you.' He says, 'They're made for walkin', you know.' We went, 'Ohhh...oh, God, please...!' He goes, 'Ha! Just kiddin', come on in.' We came in, then he fired us."

been a while since i checked in, but in the spirit of that wanted to share a WWE urban legend:
~Ahmed Johnson did a lot of coke back around 1996 at the height of his WWF pay. I don't think I have to tell you that Chris Candido and Tammy Sytch enjoy(ed) their fair share of nose candy. Well once they had blown through their cash but were still jonesing, they got desparate. They asked Ahmed for an eight ball on credit. He laughed and said, "Black people don't believe in credit. But we can barter." Chris asked what he wanted and Ahmed nodded in her direction. Chris looked at Tammy who shrugged before he said, "Well hey don't hurt her, okay?" So like twenty minutes later Ahmed finishes and Tammy leaves his room with the tiny, paper envelope. Instead of going back and using it with Chris (who was in their room freaking out), she did the coke with Shawn Michaels and spent the night in his room. A few hours later a frantic Candido starts banging on Ahmed's door. Ahmed answers the door and Candido asks, "Is Tammy here?" Ahmed shrugs and Chris says, "Where the **** is Tammy?" Ahmed says he doesn't know because she left hours ago. Candido immediately abandons his search and says, "Well did she take the dope with her?" The next morning he still hasn't seen Tammy so he goes to the front desk where he runs into Shawn Michaels in the lobby. Shawn walks up to Candido and pushes a nostril close, sniffs, and says, "Thanks for the bump, Chris." Chris asked where Tammy was and Shawn said, "She's probably back in your room now." Candido stormed up to see her, got in a big argument, went to the building, and quit on the spot. The agent told him he couldn't quit w/o a written notice. So he picked up a booking sheet, flipped it over, and wrote: "I quit. Chris Candido" And that was the end of his WWF career.

hey, I know we went with the 2/5/7 structure for this league now but I can't remember if the top scorer is an automatic loss like it used to be.
So basically can your top scorer be one of the 2 keepers?

Former WWE star Eddie "Umaga" Fatu has been hospitalized in an ICU unit in Houston, TX. Reports are going around that he is now brain dead, but that has not been confirmed by his family. WWE called it a "grave situation." His condition is thought to be life-threatening and his family was told to get into town and to the hospital right away. Details are a bit sketchy at this point, but he was apparently found by his wife this morning, not breathing with blood coming out of his nose.

Possible Bret Hart news from PWInsider The Bret Hart story that has been bouncing around the Internet earlier today actually originated in The Wrestling Observer. The company is expecting a Bret-Vince McMahon storyline of some sort going forward. That's why the teases for a Vince McMahon vs. The Undertaker storyline were shelved in favor of Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels II at Wrestlemania 26.

* In an awesome dark match, Bryan Danielson (in his first match as an official WWE contracted wrestler) defeated Chavo Guerrero. The crowd really got into the match. I'm glad to hear the way this sounds, but I still have serious doubts that Danielson will ever be given the push a man with his wrestling talent deserves. I still fear they'll give him some stupid generic name like Derek Speed and a gimmick where he studders or is a mute or something awful.

So with ECW now being called "NXT"... do we plan to continue scoring it? I guess its a wait and see if its pretty much the same roster with a different name. I think either way we should drop the value of the primarybelt to equivalent of the IC/US Titles should we decide to continue scoring it.

the entire format of the show is changing as well. apparently, there is going to be a "reality" aspect of the show, where they follow the wrestlers outside of the ring, and so on.
from what i hear, it's gonig to be somewhat of an "Ultimate Fighter" type of show, but more scripted.

My original thought is that we don't score it because it seems like it will be another batch of wrestlers. I have a feeling the ECW roster will be shuffled to another show and developmental guys will come in. I'm not sure we need another batch of guys to keep track of.

Is the most recent trade between Rude and Zyre the only one that has involved a Season 15 pick? I'm realizing I haven't really focused on transactions this year so I want to nip it in the bud early.
Basically is that the only trade where somebody has given up a draft pick in any future draft?

update on the cast, also from pwinsider.com
The cast of WWE NXT, as announced officially during the final ECW on SyFy:
*Chris Jericho mentoring Wade Barrett.
*Matt Hardy mentoring Justin Gabriel.
*MVP mentoring Skip Sheffield.
*Carlito mentoring Michael Tarver.
*Miz mentoring Daniel Bryan (aka Bryan Danielson) - No, really.
*Christian mentoring Heath Slater.
*CM Punk mentoring Darren Young.
*R-Truth mentoring David Otunga.
and a bit about the rookies...
*Wade Barrett - Billed as a "former bare knuckle fighter who is obsessed with money and anything he can do to get it." That aspect of his character appears to be a work, although it's possible. He's from Manchester, Great Britain and broke in working for Hammerlock UK. Al Snow helped train him. He's been developmental for a few years and is a solid heel. He'll be mentored by Chris Jericho and will be a heel here as well.
*Justin Gabriel - From South Africa. They compared him to Johnny Damon last night, so they are going to try and paint him as a charismatic athlete. He's the current FCW champion under the moniker "Justin Angel." Angel has been a decent champion but hasn't been the type who can carry a brand on his shoulders. One could make a comparison to Evan Bourne is a good one, but Angel is a little bigger and doesn't rely on high flying moves quite as much as Bourne. He'll be mentored by Matt Hardy and will be a babyface.
*Michael Tarver - A knockout specialist who's father sparred with Mike Tyson. That is legitimate. He's been billed as The "Son of a prizefighter and preacher" has been one of the more interesting characters as of late in Florida Championship Wrestling. His work in the ring has been better too, but that can probably be attributed to the caliber of his opponents. After seemingly going nowhere for a good part of the last year, the NXT opportunity will probably be make or break for Tarver. Tarver will be coached by Carlito.
*Skip Sheffield - An Old Fashioned Texas Boy is how he was described on ECW. A more muscled Ken Anderson is a good description of his ring work, but he seems to genuinely connect with the fans in his current gimmick. His work isn't bad in the ring, but if you see someone of his size and build, it is about what you would expect. If you can enjoy the character then you can probably stomach the work. He'll be coached by MVP.
*Heath Slater - "A Walking Rock Band" from West Virginia. Movement up from FCW has been long over due for Heath. The PG-13 Superstar (because of his early resemblance to Edge) puts on enjoyable matches and can steal the show if paired up with the right person, like he did with Banderas a few weeks ago. Christian will oversee him on NXT as a babyface.
*Darren Young - Most of his character definition was based around his "granite-life physique." Young is longtime Northeastern independent wrestler Fred Sampson, who also worked as "Frederick of Hollywood" for Jim Kettner's ECWA. From an in-ring standpoint, he is still pretty raw and might still need more work in FCW. His work is solid but none of his matches in FCW have truly stood out looking back. In FCW, his South Beach Boys tag team with Percy Watkins is entertaining live (although it probably doesn't feel the same on TV) and there was some shelf life left to it. His hairstyle will make him stand out, similar to how Carlito's stood out early. CM Punk will be overseeing him, so Young will be a heel.
*Daniel Bryan - Described as having "More experience than any other competitor and being a no nonsense competitor.", Bryan is of course former ROH champion Bryan Danielson. From an in-ring technical standpoint, he's going to be far and away the best performer of the cast, having toured all over the world learning different styles and having dozens of incredible matches under his belt. The series will bill him from Las Vegas, Nevada as opposed to his original hometown of Aberdeen, Washington, but he's been in Vegas for some time training in MMA while waiting to be called to the company's main roster. Some fans are up in arms over the idea of him being mentored by the Miz, but it's important to remember he's starting out with a fresh slate and "Daniel Bryan" the character isn't "American Dragon" the character...at least, not yet.
*David Otunga - "Jennifer Hudson's fiancé" is pretty much all they told us about him, although he has also done VH-1 Reality shows in the past, including "I Love New York." That might give him the edge in knowing how and when to play to the cameras and use his facial expressions. He's got a legitimate Harvard Law degree and is billed from Chicago. His work inside the ring has been decent but he's still very early in his development as he took some time off to be with Hudson after her family tragedy last year. He'll be mentored by R-Truth.

Miz mentoring Dragon is pretty comical when you consider Dragon is The Wrestling Observer's "Most Outstanding Wrestler" and "Best Technical Wrestler FOUR years in a row. Its like if Beniot (or Malenko) got mentored by Buff Bagwell or Van Hammer when he came to WCW from ECW/Japan. The only reason it makes some sense is because Miz is good on the mic, and (similar to Beniot) Danielson is very average in the promo department.

This is pretty freaking awesome -- from a John Morrison interview lol... On Miz mentoring Daniel Bryan: Yeah, when I saw that, I was at the ECW taping, and I actually saw Miz. He didn't know either until he saw the graphic on the screen. That he was the "Pro" and Bryan Danielson was the student. I walked by and said, "Pssh, he knows more that you do." And that's pretty much what everyone thinks. It's gonna be interesting and I think that's the point of it.

I'm surprised this is even an issue. Is the sentiments posted above because we're wondering if it will be equivilent to "Heat"?? I mean, that's more or less what Superstars is, IMO.

Superstars is a level about Heat I would say, I mean for example IIRC a week ago the main event was Y2J vs. Kane. You didn't see that level on Heat. This sounds like its gonna be like Ultimate Fighter where you watch them train and they face off (not in front of a real crowd). If thats the case, that sounds like an interesting show - but thats not a show we score.

Not sure we can decide after the fact who gets ME points. Technically they were all tag match members, none of which was ever technically eliminated from the bout. Might be tricky to make that work.
Plus I've also learned that if you short somebody points without a concrete precedent you are asking to get yelled at. :)
