Hello all... we are closing in on another draft in a couple weeks. Congrats to Rude on a dominating Season 15.
Please state intentions to return in Season 16. Also, any lurkers out there with interest in joining, please let us know, we need to have a few in reserve in case anyone can't return.
Season 16 Vote 1. Continue to Score NXT? YES/NO NXT is going on hiatus with Smackdown's move to SyFy. If it does return on another channel, we need to decide in advance if we plan to continue scoring it. 2. "Show Closing Promo" points - 5 Points? YES/NO We've kicked this around for a couple seasons. 5 extra points to anyone who earns promo points in the segment that ends the show. Whether its a contract signing, confrontation, arm-wrestling match, dance-off, masterlock challenge, talk show etc.
So the 2 guys in contract signing would get their regular 5 points, but then an additional 5 points for a "Show Closing Promo"
This would not in any way affect "Main Event" points which would still get their 10 points for being in the last match of the evening. Just a way to properly reward a major confrontation which is deemed important enough to close the program.

This ppv might be the deciding factor that I am done with WWE- It is definitely the last ppv I buy.

sooo just wondering about Otten's roster ... he's only had 4 people active for like 4 weeks. Eve and Yoshi scoring decent ... Does anything need to be adjusted or is this what he's being served since he never bothered to set a roster? lol.

He needs to set a lineup, we can't guess what he wants his lineup to be.

I'm with wiggs. I was extremely disappointed in the PPV last night. 3 title matches open the show, all with interference and then the RR is the main event and it really has no excitement and also includes interference.
Dear Vince,
People (not me) pay a lot of money to see real finishes. It would be nice if at least one bout was legit.
Sincerely, Guy who will never pay for your garbage PPVs

moved this out of the Scoring Thread... RJ was suggesting taking a look at #1 Contender Match Bonus Points...
The tricky part of it, is that they don't always define it. So unless its blatantly out there in big bold letters you have a grey area. And then you also have to consider that match is likely already a main event, and the winner is also going to be getting bonus points for being in the subsequent championship match so he's being rewarded extra as it is. So 5 is probably the number to work with if we were to use add it in.
Using this past week as example... did they specifically call it a #1 contender Raw Rumble? I am not really sure. Or just say he got a title shot at the PPV. Is that the same thing? Would all the guys in the Rumble get bonus points? Would the Del Rio have gotten those points out of the regular Royal Rumble? cause he's basically a #1 contender now... but for which belt? so then would all 40 guys in the Rumble get these points cause its essentially a #1 contender match?
Lots of questions off the top of my head we'd have to iron out for a proposal. But this is the time to work on it, so we could potentially implement for start of next season.

I'd say this is a good idea as it's a more important match... and yes, if they get a title shot as the result of it, it's the same as a #1 contender's match.
For the Rumble, I would think you'd give the specialty points to the final 10 guys, the same way you score Main Event.

Yeah I know what you're saying GO. The (rumble or mini rumble) tends to confuse things a bit. I like Rude's idea of giving the final 10 bonus points in the case of the Royal Rumble. The Elimination Chamber match would be explicitly for #1 contendership, as would the Money in the Bank match (in a way). When I first came up with the idea I had only considered singles or triple threat matches. It's worth a vote at least once we iron out the details.

Another way I was thinking was 5 pts. for Raw/SD and 10 pts. for ppvs (since there is more bearing)

The thing is with the Rumble (and Chamber) we give so many bonus points as it is with specialized scoring... you can really get some enormous scores. And I'm not sure #1 contender points to the last 10 in the Rumble really works, cause those 10 aren't there specifically cause they are "#1 contender material"... several are there by luck of coming out 38th or whatever.
I can see when its two guys hand picked on RAW - winner gets a title shot... how we'd want to give them more cause its a more major event.

Yeah thats a good point. I also felt that only the inevitable winner of the #1 contendership match would get the points and not all the participants.

I won't chime in on the subject itself. All I'll ask is that you keep in mind the guy who scores most of the shows and does the standings, individual scorers, waivers, and trades. I'd rather not make RWF my full time job. :)

It seems to be common in the scoring here to reward match winners and give slightly less points to match losers, so giving 5s or whatever to every participant is inconsistent with the scoring philosophy of this league. If you give the same points to everybody you're rewarding overall match participation over winning.

I think we are asking too much of Farn to try to score this. Remember when we tried to do heel and face turns. It was not fun.

Farn- Yeah I'll second Rude's post. Give you mad props for putting up the spreadsheets. The reason I brought up the potential rule was because it just seemed that there have been a lot of #1 contendership matches in the past few weeks.
Nailer- Surprised you didn't start Lawler?
Gang- Super excited for the upcoming draft. Also thanks for having me; I've enjoyed the league a lot and like the format. I will be back next year for sure.

RJ - I figured they would ease into it with Lawler...maybe a 5 point punkout for a week then ramp it up with a pre-ppv match the next. Ryder was pulling 15-30 pts each Superstars until I put him in. Ha! Bad judgement from me.

If you didn't see the last 20 minutes of Raw, go find it on YouTube.
They ran 18+ minutes over tonight and I bet USA was just fine with it. The ratings are going to be great.

I know I'm about 6 weeks early but its best to get a headstart...
Does anyone know someone who would be interested in taking over a team in the RWF for Season 17?
Season 17 will start a week after Wrestlemania, which would be April 10.
I'm quite certain we'll have one opening in the league based on what I've seen so far.

Nailer, I'd be interested to hear from anyone you know who has interest.
I know that this league is basically a democracy, but right now we've got at least 1 completely inactive manager who will be replaced at the end of Season 16. I know I have support from GO and Wiggs in finding a new manager.

The worst thing about it is otten has let his team go to crap this year, made no moves to make it better and has little in the way of keepers. It doesnt look to interesting to managers coming in to take it over.

Well wiggs, in reality nobody is ever more than a season away. If the new manager tanks for one season he can stockpile enough talent and picks to be in contention the next year.
I got an email from a friend of Nailer's. I'll be contacting him at some point this weekend to see how he'd fit.
Hey Bobo I sent you an email last night, take a look at it and let me know what you think when you get a chance.

Just looking for draft picks.

Just organizing the draft picks, GO has outdone himself this year.
In 3 trades he's either acquiring or trading "worst pick". Obviously that gets tricky because if you acquires a "worst pick" first that could affect the "worst pick" you are trading away.
At this point I'm inclined to think that when dealing with "worst pick" trades, we should do them in chronological order. So in this case he'd acquire Bobo and RJ's worst picks first before trading away his 2 worst picks to Bobo.
(Btw, yes, it looks like that will lead to Bobo sending his 5th rounder to GO who then sends it right back to Bobo. Only in the RWF...)

Couple of items...
Right now I've only heard from one person who's interested in taking over a team for next season. If you have someone who's interested, please have them contact me asap.
Also, I'm leaving Saturday for a week vacation. So next week's scoring will probably be a bit delayed. My goal is to have all of week 22 scored and standings done before I leave Saturday. After that just be patient.

This is really more Season 17 related but I don't want to open up that thread before this season ends.
Anyway, I'm asking now if any manager does not intend to return for next season. If you know you aren't coming back (or are on the fence), please post here or contact me privately so we can be prepared. Otten's team has already been removed from him and is basically The New Orleans Hornets of the RWF. I have a new manager ready to go (I'll email him this weekend to give him final approval) so we already have that team take care of.
If anyone intends to be gone the week following WM please say so. That's our week to do keepers and redraft so if you'll be missing we want to plan ahead.
Thanks.

I am without a doubt in for this upcoming season of WWE. I think the deal with Otten was that he got stuck without a first rounder so he kinda lost interest, though Slater ended up being a decent late 2nd rounder. I would prefer more active managers too though because it just makes it more fun.

RJ my opinion is that is no excuse- he didnt try to make trades, he didnt try to use the waiver wire. He didnt even check in to say hi. He showed absolutely no interest in the league and it is time for him to go.

I'd actually not even have cared if he didn't make a trade, use the waiver wire, etc.
What ticked me off is that starting with week 12 he only had 4 starters. No excuse for that. Thats 14 weeks only starting 4 guys. For a while it was a running joke between wiggs and I.
Anyway, he's been replaced and its time to move on.

Keepers for the next season are usually due by Wed at noon (April 6th this time) so people can see the Smackdown spoilers. The draft starts immediately after keepers are done and draft order is set, which is based on keepers and standings.
So typically it starts Wednesday night and finishes by Saturday or Sunday.

I already warned Farn, but I am gonna pretty much useless beyond drafting that week. Will be crazy busy as work for multiple reasons.
My keepers are easy, so I will send those to Nailer asap and we should all consider doing that if possible. You can always change your mind and send him updated ones til noon on Wed.
Nailer - just keep track of the 20 keepers and if you don't know how to do the math for figuring out order I'm sure Farn or Rude or someone would gladly help out. Just send them the list once you get all 10 sets of keepers.

If nobody objected I'd be happy to collect keepers to speed up the process. I don't think its any secret I'm keeping HHH and Christian and unless one of them wins the title 4 times at WM that won't change.
182
RJ
ID: 52273015 Wed, Mar 30, 2011, 16:27
Yeah my keepers are pretty much summed up as well so I'll be checking on a regular basis. I'm ticked that I wasted my waiver claim and missed out on a free Mistico as well. Lesson learned.
WGN airs its last episode of WWE Superstars this Wednesday (April 7). It looks like it will air on WWE.com after that, much like NXT.
As a result, we'll no longer be scoring Superstars for the RWF. The only shows that will count are Raw, Smackdown, and all PPVs.
186
RJ
ID: 52273015 Tue, Apr 05, 2011, 20:29
Sounds good to me, its unfortunate though as it certainly thins the playing field. Seeing as there doing Tough Enough again its unlikely we'll see another third tier Superstars type show for awhile.
Ok, keepers were received from everyone but Bobo. As a result he gets his 2 top scorers, which were very likely to be the 2 he'd have kept anyway.
So below is the keepers with their combined points. Then you'll see in the next post how draft order was determined. Standings position plus keeper rankings determine draft position. Tiebreaker is worst team in the standings from the previous year.
